Her Fantastic Adventures Episode 28 Recap
> Her Fantastic Adventures Recap
Gu Qingqiao told Duan Yu that she had seen the casino owner visiting Mr. Guo to collect debts. Duan Yu added that Mr. Guo often had conflicts with Shaoyi and wondered if he might be involved in Shaoyi's disappearance, although he noted Mr. Guo was a scholar with no martial arts skills. Agreeing that Mr. Guo and the casino owner were the most suspicious figures, they decided to return to the casino for further investigation.
At the casino, the manager confirmed that Mr. Guo was a regular customer who owed him a large sum of money and that he had gone to the academy earlier that day to collect. When asked if Mr. Guo and Shaoyi had any interaction at the casino, the manager doubted it, citing Mr. Guo's desire to avoid being seen there.
Duan Yu then noticed a luminous pearl; the manager explained it was collateral Mr. Guo had used for his debts, valuing it at three thousand taels. Mr. Guo met with Cheng Mufei, threatening him with what he had seen the night before Shaoyi disappeared and the luminous pearl, claiming it proved Cheng was the murderer. He also revealed he knew Cheng's wife was not actually ill and that the story of her tuberculosis was a lie.
Mr. Guo stated the luminous pearl was hidden securely and would be released upon his death, serving as evidence. He demanded money to keep silent. Cheng denied killing Shaoyi. Suddenly, Mr. Guo was killed by an unseen attacker. The attacker revealed himself as Lu Zizheng, the Master of the Sacred Blood Sect, who took credit for eliminating Mr. Guo.
Lu revealed he knew the recent dismemberment case involved a victim killed by bloodcraft and the dismemberment was an attempt to conceal this fact. He also questioned if Cheng practiced bloodcraft. Duan Yu and Gu Qingqiao went to find Mr. Guo, suspecting he held information about Shaoyi. They found him dead in his room, appearing to have hanged himself, with a suicide note citing overwhelming debt. They reported the death to the authorities.
Sheriff Song arrived, mentioning the dismembered body case victim was a woman whose face was unrecognizable. Cheng Mufei also arrived and inquired why Duan Yu and Gu Qingqiao were there. Duan Yu explained they suspected Mr. Guo due to his conflicts with Shaoyi. Cheng asked if they had found clues about Shaoyi, which Duan Yu denied. Later, discussing the luminous pearl, Duan Yu decided they should return it to the casino.
He reasoned the killer would likely seek to retrieve the pearl as evidence and planned to have the casino owner record anyone who inquired about it, hoping to lure the culprit out. They agreed to pretend to abandon the search for Shaoyi to make the killer lower their guard. Shaoyi was being held captive, lamenting his misfortune and the discovery that his Madam was associated with the Sacred Blood Sect. He attempted to escape but was caught by Cheng Mufei.
Shaoyi pleaded with Cheng, reminding him of his family's close relationship with the Duan family and asking to be released. He explained he had snuck in because he knew Xueniang wasn't ill and was worried, as Cheng wouldn't let anyone visit. Cheng admitted Shaoyi had seen something he shouldn't have but assured him he would not be killed.
A masked Lu Zizheng then appeared, acknowledging Shaoyi as the young master of the Duan family and confirming Cheng Mufei's agreement to cooperate to save his wife. Lu stated Shaoyi would be used as bait to obtain the treasure map. Cheng protested against using Shaoyi, but Lu disregarded his objection. Shaoyi demanded to know Lu's identity; Lu declared himself the Master of the Sacred Blood Sect, the greatest enemy of the Duan family.
Shaoyi begged Cheng not to betray the Duan family. Cheng apologized to Shaoyi, saying he had to save Xueniang and could only guarantee Shaoyi's life for now. He promised to release Shaoyi safely once the treasure map was acquired and take responsibility for his actions. Lu Zizheng appeared before Cheng Mufei again and revealed that Cheng's wife, Xueniang, was a member of the Sacred Blood Sect, though she had lost her memory.
He explained her current severe weakness stemmed from a congenital deficiency and a backlash from using bloodcraft, which was exacerbated when Shaoyi interrupted her practice. He stated her refusal to use bloodcraft again was leading to her death. Lu, as the Master of the Sacred Blood Sect, claimed he was the only one who could save her. He demanded the treasure map.
Lu presented Cheng with one Biluo pill, saying it would awaken Xueniang in three days but was insufficient for a full recovery. He promised a second Biluo pill, needed to completely free her from bloodcraft control, if Cheng obtained the treasure map held by Duan Yan.
Duan Yan arrived at Jizhou Academy and learned from Cheng Mufei that Shaoyi was missing and that Duan Yu was searching for him accompanied by Gu Qingqiao, whom Cheng described as appearing very close to Duan Yu. Duan Yan confronted Duan Yu and Gu Qingqiao, expressing anger that Duan Yu would associate with the Star of Rebellion. He accused Gu Qingqiao of being involved in Shaoyi's disappearance and attempted to attack her, calling her an enemy of the Duan family.
The Black Wood Human-shaped Sword shielded Gu Qingqiao, and Duan Yu intervened. Gu Qingqiao asserted that Shaoyi's disappearance was unrelated to her and that she had never intended to be an enemy of the Duan family. She revealed she was a disciple of the Xiling Sect and presented the Black Wood Human-shaped Sword, explaining she received it, along with a portion of the treasure map, from Ruan Siqiong before his death.
During the confrontation, a nail fell from the sword, and the sword box broke, revealing the treasure map hidden inside. Gu Qingqiao offered the treasure map to Duan Yan, proposing they cooperate to find Shaoyi. Duan Yan questioned her willingness to give the map to someone who had just attacked her, and she replied that she trusted Duan Yu.
Duan Yan asked what she would do if the Four Treasures could not ultimately be gathered, to which she responded that it would be her fate. The list of people who inquired about the luminous pearl at the casino was given to the Duan family, and Cheng Mufei's name was on it. Duan Yan found it hard to believe Principal Cheng would harm Shaoyi, given their close relationship.
Gu Qingqiao reminded them that Duan Yu had recently seen Mr. Guo arguing with Principal Cheng, but Duan Yu noted an argument wasn't conclusive evidence. Meanwhile, Sheriff Song arrived at the academy with news from the dismembered body case: a Jizhou Academy waist token had been found on the victim. They questioned Principal Cheng about any missing women from the academy, which he denied, stating only male students and female family members or servants resided there.
Duan Yu and Gu Qingqiao overheard the conversation. Gu Qingqiao, never having seen Cheng's wife, Xueniang, became suspicious. Duan Yu explained they were going to deliver supplements to Xueniang as requested by Duan Yan. Cheng Mufei repeatedly tried to prevent them from entering his wife's room, citing her contagious illness and need for rest. Gu Qingqiao pressed forward and entered the inner room, where she saw Xueniang. Xueniang appeared normal and recognized Duan Yu.
Seeing Xueniang well, Gu Qingqiao realized the dismembered body was not her and wondered about the identity of the victim. Cheng Mufei spoke with Xueniang, who expressed remorse and the feeling that she was burdening him. Cheng reassured her, promising to protect her and take her away. Later, Duan Yan spoke with Duan Yu about Gu Qingqiao.
While acknowledging she might be trustworthy for the moment, Duan Yan warned Duan Yu not to become too attached, emphasizing her identity as the Star of Rebellion and her unsuitable background for the Duan family. Duan Yu insisted his feelings for Gu Qingqiao were genuine and her status didn't matter. Duan Yan then asked what Duan Yu planned to do if Gu Qingqiao succeeded in gathering the Four Treasures and returning to her own world, as she had described. Duan Yu declared that if she left, he would remain unmarried for the rest of his life.
