Yang Xiao asked Ji Xiaofu to take care of his subordinate's girl, Yan'er, and promised to let her go after a month. Ji Xiaofu saw Yan'er's body covered in bruises, and her heart was filled with pity. She thought it was Yang Xiao's doing and accused him harshly. Yang Xiao explained that the girl's parents were members of the Ming Cult, whom he had planted as spies in other sects.

Their identities were exposed, and they were killed by famous righteous sects in the jianghu. They then used Yan'er as bait to lure Yang Xiao. Yang Xiao intervened in time to rescue Yan'er, but she had already been beaten deaf. Ji Xiaofu meticulously cared for Yan'er and prepared meals for Yang Xiao to eat with them. Yang Xiao invited her to drink, but she had been allergic to alcohol since childhood.

Yang Xiao had no choice but to pour and drink by himself, passionately extolling the benefits and wisdom of drinking. He often played with Ji Xiaofu and Yan'er. Ji Xiaofu gradually developed a good impression of Yang Xiao and opened up to him, stating that her greatest wish in this life was to follow Abbess Miejue to learn the essence of the Dragon Slaying Saber and the Heaven Relying Sword, and to expand the Emei Sect.

Yang Xiao wanted to take her back to Bright Peak and marry her. Just then, Saikeli, the leader of the Thunderbolt Gate of the Ming Cult, led his men to ambush Yang Xiao and tried to blow them up with explosives. Thanks to Yang Xiao's excellent Qinggong (lightness martial arts), he safely rescued Ji Xiaofu and Yan'er. Saikeli repeatedly condemned Yang Xiao for sacrificing Ming Cult disciples to save Yan'er, and claimed that Yan'er was Yang Xiao's illegitimate daughter.

As Yang Xiao was about to resist, he suddenly spat out blood, realizing that the gate leader had put 'Western Regions Soul-Severing Poison' in his wine. The gate leader rushed forward to kill Yang Xiao. He launched a flying sweep kick, instantly causing the ground to shake and yellow sand to fill the sky. Yang Xiao took the opportunity to escape with Ji Xiaofu.

As soon as they reached the riverbank, Yang Xiao used his internal energy to force the poison out of his body. The poisoned blood dripped into the river, instantly killing the fish in it. Saikeli and his men caught up. Yang Xiao used his telekinesis to unleash flying sand and rolling stones, knocking them all to the ground. Saikeli saw the dead fish in the river, realizing that Yang Xiao had forced out the poison.

Knowing he was no match, he wanted to die. Yang Xiao knocked away his guard's sword, telling him to stay and revitalize the Ming Cult. He also explained that Yan'er was Jiang Bowey's daughter, not his illegitimate child. Yang Xiao swore to protect Yan'er for the rest of his life. Saikeli immediately knelt down and admitted his mistake. Yang Xiao wanted to send Yan'er to her grandmother's house so she could live a peaceful life away from the jianghu.

Yan'er couldn't speak, but she hugged him, thanking him for saving her life. During the night, the remaining 'Western Regions Soul-Severing Poison' in Yang Xiao's body acted up. Ji Xiaofu drew her sword, intending to kill him, but ultimately couldn't bring herself to do it. Ding Minjun inquired everywhere but still couldn't find Xie Xun's whereabouts. Abbess Miejue was furious. Yan'er's grandmother soon came to pick her up. Yan'er and Ji Xiaofu parted reluctantly.

Yang Xiao hid in the courtyard, drinking to drown his sorrows, unwilling to face the farewell. Having spent so much time with him, Ji Xiaofu felt that he was a kind person, not at all the merciless killer her master had described. Yang Xiao then recounted a past event to her: Gu Hongzi brought the Heaven Relying Sword to challenge Yang Xiao, but suffered a crushing defeat. Gu Hongzi was so enraged that he died.

The Mongolians took the opportunity to snatch the Heaven Relying Sword. Abbess Miejue then believed that Yang Xiao had killed Gu Hongzi. Ji Xiaofu vowed to recover the Heaven Relying Sword and advised Yang Xiao to go explain everything clearly to Abbess Miejue, otherwise, he would be pursued for the rest of his life.

But Yang Xiao didn't care at all; he used to love wine the most, but now what he couldn't let go of the most was Ji Xiaofu. Ji Xiaofu packed her luggage, intending to return to the Emei Sect. Yang Xiao firmly disagreed and explained the consequences to her. After being together for a month, not only would the renowned righteous sects of the jianghu not tolerate Ji Xiaofu, but even Abbess Miejue would not believe her innocence.

For Ji Xiaofu to return now would be to court death. Yang Xiao wanted to take her back to Bright Peak to get married, promising to make her the happiest woman in the world. Ji Xiaofu stated that she already had an engagement with Yin Liting, the sixth disciple of the Wudang Sect, and she did not want the Wudang Sect and Emei Sect to be shamed because of her.

Yang Xiao declared that the only person who had ever moved his heart in this life was Ji Xiaofu. Ji Xiaofu pulled out the hairpin from her hair, threatening to kill herself. Yang Xiao snatched it away, accidentally cutting his finger. Ji Xiaofu felt great heartache. Yang Xiao held her tightly, and the two lovers finally came together. Early the next morning, Ji Xiaofu still insisted on returning to the Emei Sect.

Yang Xiao knelt on one knee, pleading with her to stay, but Ji Xiaofu's mind was made up. Yang Xiao then took out the Ming Cult's Iron Flame Token and gave it to her, welcoming her back to Zuowang Peak anytime. Ji Xiaofu, however, left a message, forbidding Yang Xiao from ever seeking her out again or inquiring about her whereabouts. Yang Xiao painfully agreed, and Ji Xiaofu left in tears.

Soon after, Yang Xiao quietly left after inserting the Heaven Relying Sword into the main gate of the Emei Sect, fulfilling Ji Xiaofu's wish. In the blink of an eye, ten years passed. Xie Wuji also grew up; he followed Zhang Cuishan up the mountain to hunt and learned Wudang martial arts. Xie Xun took Xie Wuji to sea to catch fish, and the family lived happily.

Whenever Xie Xun had time, he delved into the mysteries of the Dragon Slaying Saber, but he could never grasp the key. Xie Xun was eager for revenge, and his heart was burning with anxiety. After Zhang Cuishan repeatedly asked, Xie Xun finally recounted his deep-seated blood feud to Zhang Cuishan's family. Xie Xun had taken Shaolin's Cheng Kun as his master, but unexpectedly, Cheng Kun, fueled by alcohol, insulted his wife. When Xie's father discovered this, Cheng Kun killed everyone in the Xie family, young and old, and even his son Xie Wuji met a tragic end.
