Miejue Shitai would rather snatch the Heaven Sword and commit suicide than endure Zhao Min's humiliation. Zhao Min, however, did not want her to die so easily, wishing only to humiliate her in every possible way. Miejue Shitai was escorted back to the pagoda, repeatedly reminding her disciples that they must never reveal Emei Swordplay to Zhao Min. Ding Minjun, Zhou Zhiruo, and others were heartbroken to see Miejue Shitai's severe injuries.

Meanwhile, Big Brother Xu and Big Brother Zhu brought jianghu heroes to join Zhang Wuji. They had saved Zhang Wuji and Yang Buhui years ago and now wanted to resist the Yuan soldiers with Zhang Wuji, advocating for the common people. Zhang Wuji was naturally delighted to have them. Big Brother Zhu reported one matter to Zhang Wuji: a group of Lama monks had once hired their cart to transport Miejue Shitai and her disciples.

Halfway there, they encountered another group of Lama monks, who were escorting Song Yuanqiao and others from the Wudang Sect. Yang Xiao learned that the Lama monks were escorting both the Emei and Wudang people to Wan'an Temple in Dadu, and he began to have doubts.

Because the Lama monks were always ruthless and would never easily let Big Brother Zhu and his companions leave alive, even if they managed to escape, the Lama monks would surely send people to hunt them down. Big Brother Zhu explained that they fought among themselves, deliberately creating the illusion of an uneven distribution of spoils, which allowed them to escape safely. Zhang Wuji had no doubts about them, but Yang Xiao remained suspicious.

In the blink of an eye, it was the fifth day of the eighth lunar month. Many jianghu heroes gathered at Butterfly Valley. Zhang Wuji publicly announced that the Ming Cult would take on the mission of resisting the Yuan dynasty and eliminating traitors. All past grievances with the various jianghu sects were to be forgotten, and everyone should set aside their previous differences to collectively oppose the imperial court.

However, the most important task at hand was to go to Dadu to rescue the Six Major Sects. Zhang Wuji also established a new cult rule: Ming Cult disciples must prioritize righteousness and important matters, and absolutely not indiscriminately kill innocent people; otherwise, they would not be forgiven. Zhang Wuji and everyone present raised their cups and drank heartily, united in their hatred for the common enemy, and swore an oath on the spot.

The next morning, Yin Tianzheng and his son bid farewell to Zhang Wuji. Zhang Wuji asked Big Brother Zhu and others to return and prepare for the uprising, repeatedly urging them not to indiscriminately kill innocent people, as this was the only way to win the hearts of the people. Zhang Wuji took Yang Xiao and others to Dadu, but he was preoccupied with worries throughout the journey.

Yang Xiao immediately saw that he was uneasy about Big Brother Zhu's ruthless methods. However, since it was a time when talent was sorely needed, Yang Xiao took the liberty of appointing Big Brother Zhu as Vice Cult Master of the Ming Cult. Although Zhang Wuji had his concerns, he trusted Yang Xiao's judgment. Xiao Zhao reluctantly bid farewell to Zhang Wuji as he left Butterfly Valley.

She very much wanted to follow Zhang Wuji to Dadu, but Zhang Wuji felt that this journey was perilous, and Xiao Zhao was still bound by iron chains, making her movements very inconvenient. Xiao Zhao asked Zhang Wuji to borrow the Heaven Sword from Zhao Min to help her cut the chains. Zhang Wuji, unable to bring the Heaven Sword back to Butterfly Valley, could only agree to let her accompany him.

Xiao Zhao immediately beamed with joy and set off with everyone. Zhao Min's master, Kutoutuo, returned to report. He had led people to inquire everywhere but could not find any trace of Zhang Wuji and the Ming Cult. Zhao Min severely reprimanded him but ultimately thanked Kutoutuo for the martial arts he taught her, which allowed her to fortunately evade Miejue Shitai's attack. Kutoutuo was Fan Yao, the Right Emissary of Brightness of the Ming Cult.

After his face was disfigured, he changed his name to Kutoutuo and infiltrated Prince Ru's mansion, becoming Zhao Min's master. Zhao Min asked Kutoutuo to teach her Central Plains swordplay and ultimate martial arts techniques, but he always found various excuses to procrastinate, only teaching Zhao Min superficial knowledge. Zhao Min suspected his loyalty. Kutoutuo hurriedly knelt down and explained profusely. Zhao Min then asked him about Huashan Swordplay, and Kutoutuo reluctantly taught her a few moves.

Zhang Wuji and Yang Xiao's group continued their journey. Along the way, they saw markers left by Ming Cult disciples, and by following this route, they safely avoided the Yuan soldiers. Wei Yixiao and Yang Xiao were perplexed, unable to guess which faction of Ming Cult disciples was responsible. Zhang Wuji and his companions disguised themselves as cloth merchants entering the city for medical treatment, cleverly passing the checks by the city guards, and soon arrived outside Wan'an Temple.

Yang Xiao carefully surveyed the terrain and determined that the disciples of the Six Major Sects were imprisoned inside the pagoda. However, Wan'an Temple was heavily guarded, making it impossible to charge in through the main entrance. Zhang Wuji and Yang Xiao discussed and decided to go around to the back mountain to find a breakthrough. Zhang Wuji, Yang Xiao, and Wei Yixiao quietly arrived at the back mountain.

From a high vantage point, they saw Lama monks escorting He Taichong to the arena. Forced into a fight with the Lama monks, He Taichong was quickly knocked to the ground. He Taichong swore he would die rather than surrender to the imperial court, and consequently, one of his fingers was cut off before he was sent back to the pagoda.

Immediately after, Zhao Min ordered Zhou Zhiruo to be brought forth and took the opportunity to ask Kutoutuo about He Taichong's Kunlun Swordplay. Kutoutuo explained each move to her and personally demonstrated them, and Zhao Min quickly grasped the essence. Zhou Zhiruo was brought onto the arena. She righteously refused to defect to the imperial court and refused to use Emei Swordplay. Zhao Min was furious, thoroughly humiliating her and verbally abusing her.

Zhao Min also repeatedly claimed that the Heaven Sword originally belonged to her. Zhou Zhiruo scoffed at her and listed the imperial court's evil deeds. Zhao Min was completely enraged and threatened to disfigure Zhou Zhiruo's face. In an urgent situation, Zhang Wuji had no choice but to throw the jewelry box Zhao Min had given him to stop her. Zhao Min raised her sword and brought it down, cutting the jewelry box in half.

Zhang Wuji seized the opportunity to rescue Zhou Zhiruo. Zhao Min recognized it as the jewelry box she had given to Zhang Wuji and realized that he had always carried it with him, which somewhat eased her mind. Zhang Wuji promised to find a craftsman to repair it and asked Zhao Min to release Song Yuanqiao and the others. Zhao Min agreed to release them soon but would not allow Zhang Wuji to take Zhou Zhiruo away.

The Xuanming Elders launched a surprise attack on Zhang Wuji when he was unprepared. Zhang Wuji calmly met the challenge. Yang Xiao and Wei Yixiao also rushed to provide support. Zhao Min threatened to kill everyone imprisoned in the pagoda. Zhou Zhiruo, not wanting to implicate Zhang Wuji, agreed to remain in Wan'an Temple. Zhao Min suspected that Zhang Wuji and Zhou Zhiruo were lovers.

Zhang Wuji vehemently denied it, earnestly pleading with Zhao Min to release the people of the Six Major Sects, promising to do his utmost to fulfill the three requests he had agreed to. Zhao Min, out of spite, threatened to disfigure Zhou Zhiruo's face. Wei Yixiao, using his superb qinggong, flew over and touched Zhao Min's face, threatening to repay Zhou Zhiruo's injuries to Zhao Min twofold, then soared into the sky.

Zhao Min, feeling apprehensive, dared not act rashly and had no choice but to let Zhang Wuji and Zhou Zhiruo leave. At night, Zhao Min tossed and turned, unable to sleep, and couldn't help but recall scene after scene since she met Zhang Wuji; her heart was filled with mixed emotions. Zhang Wuji was startled awake by a nightmare in the middle of the night, suddenly discovering a figure outside the window.

He loudly called Yang Xiao and Wei Yixiao awake. The three of them tracked the person to the backyard, only then recognizing the person as Kutoutuo. Kutoutuo challenged Zhang Wuji. Zhang Wuji calmly met the challenge. After a few rounds, Kutoutuo suddenly knelt to the ground, claiming to be Fan Yao, the Right Emissary of Brightness of the Ming Cult.
