Go Princess, Go! Episode 17 Recap
> Go Princess, Go! Recap
Eunuch Qiang brought boxes, cages, and books to Xingsheng Palace, telling Zhang Pengpeng that the Emperor was worried about her severe pregnancy reactions and had decided to move into Xingsheng Palace to take care of her. Zhang Pengpeng, however, was very resistant. After some thought, Zhang Pengpeng came up with a good idea to keep Qi Sheng from bothering her: implement a rotational lodging system, allowing the imperial concubines to take turns serving Qi Sheng.
To prevent Qi Sheng from opposing this system, Zhang Pengpeng proposed that the national treasury was tight and asked the concubines to contribute their private funds as military provisions, solving Qi Sheng's urgent financial needs and making him worry-free and willing to accept the concubines. Zhang Pengpeng, with her big pregnant belly, brought the gold, silver, and jewels donated by the concubines to see the Emperor, and also explained the rotational lodging system she had devised.
Qi Sheng, however, was furious, believing that Zhang Pengpeng was selling him out. Seeing that Qi Sheng was not persuaded, Zhang Pengpeng adopted a softer approach, coaxing and acting coquettish towards Qi Sheng, finally getting him to agree to the rotational bed-serving arrangement. Inside Daming Palace, Qi Sheng was still reviewing memorials late at night. Eunuch Qiang reminded him that according to the rotational lodging system, it should be Huang Liangyuan's turn to serve him.
However, Qi Sheng was unwilling to share a bed with Huang Liangyuan. Huang Liangyuan presumptuously presented the aphrodisiac Jingge to Qi Sheng, and was reprimanded by him. Inside Xingsheng Palace, the concubines tearfully came to Zhang Pengpeng, complaining that they had not benefited from the rotational lodging system, losing both their people and their wealth, and were all sadly preparing to become nuns.
Zhang Pengpeng turned their trick against them, testing and discovering that the concubines' collective protest of becoming nuns was not actually a genuine desire to leave the secular world. Zhang Pengpeng sent for Zhao Wang, asking if he knew whether Qi Sheng had ever been provoked by a woman before. Zhao Wang, however, stated that Qi Sheng was a person of integrity and devoted in love. Zhang Pengpeng could never forget Qi Sheng's attempt to kill her when they were in Jiangbei. She could not waver in her determination to bring down Qi Sheng.
