Sensing the abnormal celestial change, Dongfang Huaizhu and Wangquan Hongye immediately realized Jiu Huo had escaped. When they arrived at the formation, they found Jiu Huo had already repaired Jin Chenxi and taken it. Unable to stop him, they called Yang Yitan to join the pursuit.
Taking advantage of the Seven-Star Alignment, Jiu Huo used Jin Chenxi to help the Black Fox Jia Lan break through the seal. A crack was torn open in the barrier, and the sinister being Jia Lan emerged as a mass of black mist. Though she had no physical form, her power was immense. Wangquan Hongye and his companions used the Combined Breath Technique, but it was no match for the Black Fox’s attack.
Seeing this, Li Quzhuo wielded the restored Golden Lotus and deployed thousands of talismans to hold off the Black Fox, buying Wangquan’s group time to return to the past. As the talismans were shattered one by one, Li Quzhuo’s body suffered massive attacks from the Black Fox, leaving him gravely wounded and coughing blood. Upon arriving in the past, Wangquan Hongye was seriously injured and was the first to collapse unconscious. The old master sent someone to say that once Wangquan Hongye woke, he should come meet him. Huaizhu reminded him there was no need to be nervous about seeing her father. The old master dismissed Qinlan and spoke privately with Wangquan Hongye. At first, both remained formal, but after some drinks, they opened up and began talking like brothers, creating a comically warm atmosphere.
