Desperate to prove his innocence, Pei Shangxuan, Li Li, and Li Jun, along with the driver (who had mistakenly transported the wallet), diligently searched a large warehouse filled with goods, including expired drinks, for the entire evening, but failed to find it. Qiu Zian, who was waiting to tutor Li Li in English oral practice, was stood up.
Li Li, unwilling to give up and determined to clear Pei Shangxuan's name, returned to the warehouse the following day, sometimes accompanied by Li Jun, and eventually found the wallet. She excitedly brought it to the supermarket. As Pei Shangxuan was out on an errand and in a hurry for an exam, Li Li entrusted the wallet to Susu for safekeeping and asked her to deliver it.
Upon Pei Shangxuan's return, he gratefully accepted the wallet from Susu, profusely thanking her. Believing Susu had recovered it, he expressed his immense surprise and joy. Susu, driven by selfishness, remained silent, allowing him to credit her instead of Li Li, and later frequently interrupted Li Jun when she tried to reveal the truth.
Meanwhile, Li Jun's handsome and refined cousin, Qiu Zian, an English tutor, met Li Li through Li Jun when Li Li sought to improve her English oral skills. Li Li's gentle and kind nature left a deep impression on Qiu Zian, who found himself drawn to her and eager for a relationship. Qiu Zian openly expressed his interest in Li Li.
He once bought chocolate from Pei Shangxuan's supermarket, intending to give it to Li Li, but, worried it might not suit her taste, he asked a junior student outside the store to try it. Pei Shangxuan witnessed this scene and became suspicious, thinking Qiu Zian was fickle and flirtatious. Daniel later told Pei Shangxuan that Li Li's feelings for him were more than just friendship, a suggestion Pei Shangxuan initially dismissed as impossible.
However, upon witnessing Li Li's interactions with Qiu Zian and experiencing Qiu Zian's attentions, Pei Shangxuan began to feel jealous. His previous indifference gave way to an acute awareness of Qiu Zian's actions. When Pei Shangxuan confronted Qiu Zian rudely, Li Li immediately scolded Pei Shangxuan and sent him away, further solidifying the shift in Pei Shangxuan's perception and making him realize his true feelings.
