Fu Zeyi struggled with Lin's presence. Lin questioned if Fu Zeyi was still angry about Jing Zhixia's injury, wanting forgiveness. Fu Zeyi dismissed the thought, stating he had no time for anger as Jing Zhixia was missing and he needed to find her. During this conversation, Jing Zhixia appeared, confronting him about who he was talking to, as she had only heard him speaking to himself.
This reinforced Jing Zhixia's growing suspicion that Fu Zeyi harbored an unspeakable secret, possibly related to his amnesia, and she resolved to investigate it covertly, discussing it with Jian Bufan. Meanwhile, Fu Zeyi discussed his decision to undergo treatment with Mo Ziqi, confirming it was because of Jing Zhixia. He described Jing Zhixia as innocent, kind, trusting, and understanding, despite Mo Ziqi's observation that women often tend to be suspicious, sensitive, and guarded.
Fu Zeyi confidently stated that Jing Zhixia would never lie to him. Mo Ziqi scheduled the treatment for the following day. After being discharged from the hospital where she was recovering from low blood sugar, Jing Zhixia was driven home by Fu Zeyi, who urged her to rest. However, Jing Zhixia's mind was preoccupied with Fu Zeyi's secrets. She suspected he would hide important information at his home and decided to return there to search for clues.
She called Fu Zeyi, asking if he was home, and after he mentioned missing her, she surprised him at his door. Although Fu Zeyi was outwardly welcoming, he secretly worried about Lin's possible re-emergence, especially after their first kiss, and knew he had to be careful not to trigger Lin before his upcoming treatment, specifically avoiding kissing Jing Zhixia.
He subtly tried to discourage Jing Zhixia from staying, suggesting she drink water instead of red wine and offering to send her home immediately. As Jian Bufan went to Ai Xin's home to celebrate her birthday, he was dismayed to see Ma Shixian leaving with luggage. Convinced Ai Xin was still with the "jerk," Jian Bufan confronted her after Ma Shixian left, demanding to know why she hadn't ended their relationship.
Ai Xin tried to deflect, asking him to discuss something cheerful on her birthday, but Jian Bufan grew increasingly agitated, warning her that if Ma Shixian cheated once, he would do it again, despite Ai Xin's desperate pleas for him to stop. Overwhelmed, Ai Xin accidentally knocked over a teacup, shattering it. The noise startled her colleagues, who had been hiding behind the sofa, planning a surprise birthday celebration.
They emerged, creating a mortifying scene, which made Jian Bufan realize why Ai Xin had wanted him to stop talking. After the awkward birthday wishes, the colleagues discreetly left. Jian Bufan apologized profusely, and Ai Xin revealed that she had broken up with Ma Shixian long ago. He had come to reconcile, but she had refused and returned all his gifts.
Ai Xin confessed her struggle to maintain a composed facade, explaining how she had meticulously built her career, from receiving scholarships to becoming Chief Legal Officer at Fu Group, only for her three-year engagement to end in infidelity. She lamented that she had no one to confide in. Jian Bufan comforted her, reassuring her that her kind heart was all that mattered, and that right and wrong were other people's problems.
Ai Xin, still emotional, admitted she was crying not over Ma Shixian, but over her shattered favorite vase. Back at Fu Zeyi's apartment, Jing Zhixia, still determined to uncover his secrets, intentionally spilled juice on him. While he went to change, she quickly accessed his computer, where she found an appointment listed for the next day with Mo Ziqi. This discovery deepened her suspicion.
When Fu Zeyi returned, he noticed her at the computer and asked if she was looking for something. Jing Zhixia quickly made up an excuse, claiming her phone had died. Fu Zeyi, still eager to send her home, offered his power bank. Realizing she needed another reason to stay, Jing Zhixia feigned a sprained ankle. Concerned, Fu Zeyi agreed she couldn't leave alone and applied ice to her ankle, though he internally pondered her unusual behavior.
Jian Bufan remained with Ai Xin, comforting her. Ai Xin, noticing he was still there, asked why he hadn't left, to which he replied that he wanted to watch TV with her. Later, she drifted off to sleep on his shoulder. When she woke up, she found him sleeping on the floor, having given her his jacket to use as a blanket.
In the middle of the night, because of the air conditioning, Ai Xin saw Jian Bufan was a bit cold and gently covered him with another blanket, a gesture that secretly delighted Jian Bufan. Jing Zhixia, still at Fu Zeyi's, noticed a female neighbor approach his door, claiming her pipes were leaking and asking for his help. Fu Zeyi explained he couldn't help, but Jing Zhixia questioned him about the woman, clearly jealous of the brief interaction.
To keep him from leaving and potentially uncover more, Jing Zhixia suggested they "do something to freshen up." Misinterpreting her intent, Fu Zeyi demurred, but Jing Zhixia clarified by pulling out a deck of cards, suggesting they play something "meant for two." They settled on a game of dou dizhu, with the stakes being "Truth or Dare" and sticky notes for the loser.
Despite Fu Zeyi's claim of never losing at dou dizhu, Jing Zhixia initially suffered repeated losses, accumulating sticky notes on her face and growing frustrated. To cheer her up, Fu Zeyi deliberately let her win a round. When Jing Zhixia won, she chose a dare for him: to tell his new neighbor that she was his girlfriend. Fu Zeyi complied, loudly listing Jing Zhixia's admirable qualities—adorable, innocent, kind, cheerful, thoughtful, smart, and sexy—to the bemused neighbor.
Upon his return, Jing Zhixia rewarded him for making her win and enduring her scolding by presenting him with a "get-out-of-jail card," promising to forgive any mistake he made while holding it. She then pressed him, asking if he had ever wronged or lied to her. Fu Zeyi, with a hesitant expression and an internal thought about whether they would still have a future after tomorrow, deferred the conversation, saying it was late.
Later, as they lay intimately in bed, with their clothes off, Jing Zhixia asked what was wrong, and Fu Zeyi replied it was nothing, before Jing Zhixia lightly complained that he was pressing on her hair.
