Fall in Love Episode 1 Recap
> Fall in Love Recap
Jing Zhixia, who holds the title of General Manager and inherited Aizhe Hotel from her father, operates under the temporary oversight of her maternal uncle, Jian Qian, who serves as the acting General Manager. One day, she received a call from a saleswoman, Liu Jie, who excitedly informed her about the availability of a limited-edition crocodile skin handbag. Jing Zhixia quickly made plans to purchase it, but her cousin, Jian Bufan, intervened.
He expressed his father Jian Qian’s displeasure with her consistent 9-to-5 schedule and found her early departure even more unacceptable, urging her to wait until after official working hours. Jing Zhixia, however, insisted she was attending to "important business," a claim Jian Bufan found exasperating, knowing it was merely for a bag. He reminded her that Fu Zeyi, the CEO of Fanmu Home, was expected to arrive that afternoon and that Jian Qian wanted her to personally welcome him.
Jing Zhixia countered that her uncle, as the acting General Manager, was the more appropriate host. Just then, Jian Qian appeared, chastising Jing Zhixia for attempting to leave early and emphasizing the importance of top management receiving such a significant client to prevent them from canceling their stay due to dissatisfaction. Sensing her uncle's fondness for flattery, Jing Zhixia showered him with compliments, calling him Aizhe’s most experienced and respectable leader.
Pleased, Jian Qian agreed to handle the reception, allowing Jing Zhixia to slip away. As she reached the underground parking lot, Jing Zhixia was stunned to see Lin, her boyfriend who had vanished a year prior, accompanied by another woman. An earlier investigation report indicated no record of a person named Lin, leading her to believe she had been deceived. A painful memory flashed back: after a night together, Lin had left her money, making her feel insulted and used.
Overwhelmed with anger, Jing Zhixia learned that Lin and the woman were heading to the presidential suite. She quickly obtained a master key from reception and confronted the woman in the suite, angrily warning her about Lin’s deceptive nature. The woman, introducing herself as Ai Xin, his assistant and attorney, calmly explained that the man in the shower was Fu Zeyi, the CEO of Fanmu Home, and that he was still single.
She advised Jing Zhixia against unauthorized entry and warned of legal action if she continued. When Fu Zeyi emerged, Jing Zhixia instantly recognized him as Lin, but he claimed never to have met her. Ai Xin reiterated that he was Fu Zeyi, but Jing Zhixia dismissed it as another one of his elaborate schemes. At that moment, Jian Qian arrived, extending a warm welcome to Fu Zeyi.
To their astonishment, Ai Xin produced a legal document, accusing Aizhe Hotel of infringing on Fanmu's furniture designs and demanding fifty million yuan in compensation, threatening court action otherwise. Both Jian Qian and Jing Zhixia were taken aback; their planned hospitality had turned into a lawsuit. Back at the hotel, Jian Bufan rebuked his father for purchasing knock-off furniture for the hotel’s renovation.
Jian Qian admitted he had done so to cut costs, but the distributor he sourced from had sold him counterfeit goods and was now unreachable. Jian Qian, known for his tactic of stalling, suggested dragging out the lawsuit for a year or more until the other party gave up. However, Jian Bufan warned that Fu Zeyi was a ruthless and uncompromising opponent. Jing Zhixia then recalled her first meeting with the gentle man she knew as Lin.
She had booked an entire cinema for a private screening, only to find him already there. The manager explained that he was the film's music composer. When the sound system failed mid-movie, Lin shared his headphones with her, playing his own score and narrating the story with a deep understanding of the music's emotional connection to the plot. Captivated, she joined him for dinner afterward.
On a whim, she asked him to write a song just for her, and to her surprise, he agreed to have it ready by the next day. Wondering how that gentle, considerate man could transform into the cold, arrogant Fu Zeyi, she decided she couldn't let this "scumbag" disrupt her life any longer and resolved to pay the fifty million yuan to settle the matter quickly.
Jian Qian, however, lamented that the hotel's accounts did not hold such a large sum due to operational costs, advance payments, and other expenses, including some minor investments he made with hotel shares. Jing Zhixia then decided she would find a way to raise the money, even if it meant selling her shares. Jian Bufan, who overheard her phone conversation about selling shares, confronted her.
He pleaded with her not to, emphasizing that her father had painstakingly built the hotel and that her mother had wished for the Jing family to retain management rights. He also revealed that word of her confrontation with Fu Zeyi had spread so fast that even Ms. Hao, the cleaner, knew about it. He asked if she still longed for the man, reminding her that their relationship had lasted less than a week.
Jing Zhixia insisted she was fine and urged him to leave. After he left, Jian Bufan remarked to himself that it was better for her to cry it out than to cause a scene after drinking. Unbeknownst to Jing Zhixia, the buyer she contacted for the shares had been secretly arranged by Fu Zeyi. The buyer reported to Fu Zeyi that Jing Zhixia was unsuspicious, and Ai Xin confirmed that she had accepted the compensation demand.
With Jing Zhixia prepared to pay and leave, their plan to acquire the hotel’s ownership faced no further obstacles. Fu Zeyi's true intention was not to manage the hotel, but to acquire the land for commercial development, just as he had done a year prior. In a flashback, an orphanage director expressed gratitude to Fu Zeyi for his ongoing generosity.
Believing him to be a responsible person with a desire to give back to the world, the director signed the transfer contract. Shortly after, bulldozers arrived, leveling the orphanage as Fu Zeyi’s inner thoughts revealed his true objective: "The land is what I wanted."
