Resumen del episodio 28 de Generation to Generation
> Resúmenes de Generation to Generation
Cai Zhao woke from a deep sleep on Mu Qingyan’s shoulder to find Xing’er standing nearby, smiling. News of Cai Zhao’s daring rescue of Mu Qingyan at the execution ground had already swept through the Jianghu. Within the Li Sect, she was now widely celebrated, with everyone—including the imprisoned Elder Yan Xu—considering her the future Lady of the sect.
While Cai Zhao felt embarrassed and urged Mu Qingyan to clarify the situation, he harbored no desire to correct the rumors, his eyes reflecting a quiet hope for their marriage. Upon their return to the village, Xing’er expressed her fury over You Guanyue’s opportunistic defection to Nie Zhe following Mu Qingyan’s capture. She also shared that Elder Yan Xu had been locked in the Archive again after publicly berating Nie Zhe for nearly ruining the sect's foundation.
During their stay, they met Xue Youfu, who was struck by Mu Qingyan’s resemblance to his uncle, Mu Zhengyang. Xue recalled how Mu Zhengyang and Cai Pingshu had been deeply in love. He lamented that if Mu Zhengyang had chosen a simple life with her instead of pursuing his "great cause" of reclaiming the Chief position from Nie Hengcheng, they might have found the happiness that eluded them in death.
Deeply moved by the stories of the previous generation and unwilling to let history repeat itself, Mu Qingyan gathered his courage and proposed to Cai Zhao. That night, however, Cai Zhao was haunted by a disturbing nightmare. She dreamt of Cai Pingshu’s wedding, only to find the groom was a hideous skin-painted demon that transformed into Mu Qingyan, who then turned a blade upon her. She woke in a cold sweat, relieved it was only a dream, yet deeply unsettled.
As Mu Qingyan began to recover thanks to the snow lotus Cai Zhao provided, she noticed that the pursuers from the Six Sects had vanished. She realized that the only way to force the sects to stop their hunt was to threaten their families. She confronted Mu Qingyan, who admitted he had orchestrated the kidnapping of various disciples' families, including Zhou Yuqi, to use as leverage.
He confessed that his entire capture had been an elaborate "chain scheme"; he had used himself as bait to flush out traitors and gambled on Cai Zhao’s love to save him. Heartbroken at being utilized as a chess piece, Cai Zhao attempted to leave, but Mu Qingyan became desperate, threatening to kill the hostages to force her to stay.
Meanwhile, Qi Yunke and Song Shijun discussed the situation, with Qi Yunke placing his faith in Cai Zhao’s integrity to see through the deception and return home. Mu Qingyan then set the final stage of his plan, luring Nie Zhe into a trap at the foot of the mountain. You Guanyue, who had only pretended to defect, claimed that Si'en was not Nie Zhe’s biological son but was actually the child of Yu Huiyin and another man.
He pointed to a hereditary green mark on the butterfly bone as proof. Driven by suspicion, Nie Zhe forced Yu Huiyin to reveal the mark on her back, confirming the trait. In the ensuing chaos, Ru Xin took her own life to protest Nie Zhe's cruelty and prove Si'en's legitimacy. Devastated by the death of her companion and Nie Zhe’s heartlessness, Yu Huiyin turned on him and stabbed him to death.
Mu Qingyan’s strategy successfully eliminated his rival while leaving Yu Huiyin responsible for the murder. Though the threat was gone, Cai Zhao remained deeply disappointed by Mu Qingyan’s ruthless "killing with a borrowed knife" methods. When she prepared to depart, Mu Qingyan was so overwhelmed by agitation that he fainted. After he regained consciousness, he found that she had stayed behind only to plant blood-activating herbs to aid his recovery.
She maintained a cold distance, though Mu Qingyan vowed to release the hostages and seal the Youming Path, hoping to turn the Li Sect into a secluded haven where they could live in peace. Later, Xue Youfu provided Cai Zhao with travel gear and showed her a painting Mu Zhengyang had made of Cai Pingshu.
Looking at the image, Cai Zhao was struck by the resemblance between herself and her aunt, as Xue reflected on the extraordinary nature of the woman Mu Zhengyang had once loved.
