> Resúmenes de Generation to Generation
Following the ambush, Cai Zhao and Chang Ning were captured and imprisoned in a wooden box suspended precariously over a deep abyss. Though Chang Ning was immobilized because his Fengfu acupoint had been sealed, Cai Zhao managed to free him. After coordinating their movements, they burst out of the box, only to be pursued relentlessly by black-clad assassins.
During the chase, Chang Ning nearly plummeted off a cliff, but Cai Zhao risked her life to hold onto him until Song Yuzhi arrived with reinforcements to pull them to safety. Back at the Qingque Sect, Chang Ning remained in a state of suffering due to his persistent poison. Qi Yunke expressed deep remorse for failing to protect Cai Zhao.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the assassins had murdered several locals and entered the sect disguised as guards from the Guangtian Sect. Recognizing the threat to the upcoming Patriarch’s ritual, Qi Yunke ordered a total lockdown of the mountain. Meanwhile, Qi Lingbo, bitter over her previous defeat, egged on her fourth senior brother, Ding Zhuo—a martial arts fanatic—to challenge Cai Zhao.
However, Cai Zhao had no interest in a formal duel; she launched a swift preemptive strike and defeated him instantly. When Qi Lingbo accused her of cheating, Cai Zhao countered that in a life-or-death struggle, an enemy would not wait for ceremonies like bathing or burning incense. Later, the group visited the Double Lotus Palace, the luxurious residence of Yin Sulian. Its opulence stood in stark contrast to the sect’s official stance on simple living.
While Yin Sulian put on a show of maternal care and offered Cai Zhao a bracelet, Chang Ning openly confronted her. He selected a phoenix blood jade from her treasures, noting it was originally his family’s property. He then exposed how his father had once overheard Yin Sulian cursing his aunt, Cai Pingshu, and suggested that her death was linked to the Yin family's actions.
A heated conflict was only avoided when Qi Yunke arrived to mediate, urging his wife to be more tolerant of the traumatized youth. Qi Yunke then led Cai Zhao to the back of the mountain to see the Withered Branch, a rare plant Cai Pingshu had used to help him increase his inner power when he was a bullied outer disciple.
He encouraged Cai Zhao to grow strong, explaining that strength is the only path to true freedom and justice in the Jianghu. That night, Chang Ning used special pollen to draw Trace Butterflies to the Chunling Cottage, creating a beautiful display for Cai Zhao. He admitted he only truly trusted her amidst the sect's hidden dangers and requested to move into the cottage for protection.
Under the guidance of Lei Xiuming, a renowned healer and old friend of Cai Pingshu, Cai Zhao performed acupuncture on Chang Ning. During the treatment, she discovered he possessed an unnaturally complex and vast inner power. Chang Ning explained this was the result of a "poison against poison" method used to save his life as a sickly child. Once his bandages were removed, Cai Zhao was momentarily stunned by his handsome features.
However, her suspicions remained; she used "Truth Teller" incense in his medicine to see if he was hiding anything. This caused Chang Ning to fall into a violent delirium where he relived his father's death. The next morning, to secure her ongoing protection, Chang Ning proposed a deal: if she kept him safe within the sect, he would give her all the hidden wealth his father had left behind.
The pair's living arrangement at the Chunling Cottage soon sparked scandalous rumors. When Qi Lingbo arrived to mock their supposed intimacy, Cai Zhao effortlessly used her wit to insult her and drive her away. Eventually, Chang Ning hinted that the 19th Sect Leader, Yin Dai, might have been the one who manipulated Cai Pingshu into her final, fatal mission. Driven to find the truth, Cai Zhao snuck into the Library at night.
After navigating the Four Symbols Xuanji Array, she realized that while Qi Yunke was the 20th leader, the handbook of the 19th leader, Yin Dai, was missing. As she searched, Chang Ning suddenly appeared. Before they could speak, a mysterious shadow loomed outside, and the heavy iron door slammed shut, trapping them both inside.
