When Chi Yu insisted, Tang Mao revealed that Suxi was at Yaoshi Club nearby and warned him to find her quickly before it was too late.
Tang Mao then attacked Chi Yu with a golf club, but Chi Yu blocked it and used his powers to vanish. Jiang Yu, Tang Mao's assistant, was stunned and suggested it might be a "deceit" or "magic," comparing it to a foreign magician disappearing publicly. Tang Mao, unconvinced, asked if Chi Yu came "all the way to the dead end to play magic for us," but then conceded it could be "hypnosis, just like that night."
Tang Mao ordered Jiang Yu to find magicians and hypnotists to uncover Chi Yu's true nature, no matter if he was an "alien." Cai Shumeng revealed that Tang Mao was behind the leaked copy of Wen Suxi's film and had conspired with Pang Shuo to depress the company's stock price, profiting from Wen Suxi's departure. The assistant suggested using this information to expose Tang Mao and seize control of the company, but Cai Shumeng stated she had bigger plans, declaring, "The game just started."
Chi Yu, having recovered slightly at the hotel, reflected on Tang Mao's actions, concluding they were a calculated test to expose his identity, and that Tang Mao's true target was him, not Suxi. Hua Yecheng arrived and admonished Chi Yu for his reckless use of the Pen, warning that its power was rapidly diminishing.
