> Destiny of Love Recap

With the wedding fast approaching, Ji Mo’s father quietly pulled him into the room and handed over his life’s savings. With this silver, his son would have no worries about food or clothing in the future, and at the very least, he wouldn’t have to live under others’ noses. Ji Mo had spent most of his time immersed in literature and had never earned a penny to support the family.

His father feared that he might be disliked by his wife for being unable to make money. Yue Tao helped her mistress mend the red bridal veil every day. Seeing how eager she was to save up for her dowry, Qiao Manman teased her, asking if her relationship with Jiufeng was heating up and whether the two of them should hold a joint wedding.

Now that Yue Tao had also found love, both Qiao Manman and A Li Ya were happy for her. The wedding day finally arrived. Ji Mo and his elder sister held their weddings on the same day. Many guests attended, applauding and offering blessings, wishing the two couples a sweet and happy life together until old age. At that moment, the assassins Fu Yunnuo had dispatched arrived at the village.

Once the banquet concluded and the guests, full of wine and food, were preparing to leave, they were ambushed. The attackers came with overwhelming force, leaving no one alive wherever they went. Ji Mo’s father was slashed and gravely injured. Normally carefree and lighthearted, he could no longer make jokes at the end of his life. Qiao Manman’s biological father was also killed in the attack.

In his final moments, he tightly held Fu Chengjin’s hand, asking him to keep his promise and ensure Qiao Manman’s lifelong happiness. To protect Jiufeng, Yue Tao used her own body to shield him from a sword strike. She later collapsed in a pool of blood. Jiufeng held her in his arms, overwhelmed with grief, crying and begging her to wake up.

He had already prepared the red bridal veil, planning to marry her in grand fashion after Fu Chengjin’s wedding. He never expected they'd be separated by death so soon. A Li Ya suffered a violent blow to the head, but upon waking, she miraculously regained her memory. On the very day of the wedding, she regained clarity. Ji Mo was consumed by the pain of losing his father.

As long as A Li Ya was safe, he had no other wish. After burying their loved ones, everyone was immersed in immense sorrow. Fu Chengjin recalled how Qiao Manman’s father, when he was still alive, had urged him to observe the political landscape, seize opportunities, and strike when necessary. The ruthless assassination attempt was clearly targeted at Fu Chengjin—it must have been orchestrated by his younger brother.

Not long ago, their father had sent a palace attendant with a message for Fu Chengjin, asking him to return, saying that there had been changes at court. Now it seemed clear that a great crisis was brewing. After waking up, A Li Ya realized how dangerous their situation was, and decided to return to Xilin Kingdom to request reinforcements.

Ji Mo, who usually acted timid and once suffered from “fear of women,” had finally grown brave with A Li Ya by his side. He quickly packed his belongings and accompanied his wife back to Xilin. Fu Yunnuo’s subordinate, Gui Hu, had originally been ordered to kill everyone except Qiao Manman and bring her back to him alive.

But Gui Hu feared that Fu Yunnuo would be bewitched by her beauty, so he threw several bombs into the courtyard, intending to blow them all up. Gui Hu later reported back, claiming that everyone had been killed in the explosion, including Qiao Manman.
