After Elise made a call to Officer Han regarding the Li Yan case, Madam Quentin, acknowledging defeat, told Elise that the contract was in the nightstand's drawer to the left of her bed, which Elise then retrieved. Kesong arrived at the hospital with a pot of soup for Xiaoyu and was surprised to find her parents there. Her parents were distressed upon seeing a burn on Kesong's arm, but Kesong downplayed it, saying Xiaoyu's wounds were more serious.

Despite her parents' concern, Kesong insisted she was fine. She asked her mother to give the soup to Xiaoyu, opting not to go into the room herself to avoid upsetting Xiaoyu, who was already disheartened by not being able to participate in the competition. Kesong's mother understood and agreed to deliver the soup. K-Jie was seen by her apprentices staring at her phone with a dreamy smile for an hour, leading them to tease her about being in love.

K-Jie, embarrassed, quickly deflected their remarks by assigning them various chores and sending them away. One of the apprentices remarked that K-Jie, usually so tough, had completely changed, becoming "a landlady" due to love. While cooking at home, Oliver suddenly lost his eyesight, forcing him to cautiously turn off the stove. Later, when Kesong returned home, she noticed his distress.

Oliver tearfully confessed to her that he couldn't see, explaining that he had been unable to see for at least half an hour and he feared he wouldn't recover. Concurrently, Elise burned the previously forged contract at her own home. Upon learning of Oliver's blindness, Elise immediately went to Oliver's house with Junbin. Oliver, overwhelmed, asked whoever had entered to leave him alone. Elise explained that she and Junbin were there out of concern.

She then presented the transfer agreements Oliver had given her, stating that neither she nor her mother would sign them. Oliver, feeling that she was pitying him, became agitated and begged them to leave. On the way, Junbin commended Elise for burning the contract. Elise expressed her gratitude for his trust and revealed her original intention to confess everything to Oliver and then vanish, but Oliver's sudden blindness prevented her from leaving.

She explained that she believed Yuxuan rightfully belonged to Oliver and that she had to manage it diligently to ensure its survival and strength. Junbin, acknowledging his own earlier wishful thinking, reassured Elise that he would stand by her side no matter what difficulties she faced. Kesong observed Oliver's silent despair, believing that losing his sight after his taste was a living hell. Though she desperately wanted to cry, she knew she had to remain strong for him.

She tried to offer him water, but Oliver, feeling pathetic, told her he looked ridiculous and that she should leave, promising not to blame her. He then clarified that he would stay with her to complete the competition, ensuring she wouldn't be disqualified, as that was his only concern. Afterward, he intended for them both to return to their separate lives, suggesting she had a bright future with her family and Song Yiran.

Distraught, Kesong asked how she could thrive without him, and if he truly didn't need her. Through tears, she confessed her love for him, declaring that she would remain by his side whether he liked it or not, unlike when he lost his sense of taste. Oliver tried to push her away, insisting he could manage on his own, that she deserved better, and that he had no feelings for her. Before he could finish, Kesong kissed him fiercely.

Afterwards, she challenged his denial of feelings and then brought him liver congee for his eyes, determined to make him eat. Despite his refusal and knocking the bowl to the floor, Kesong calmly began cleaning up, asserting that she had made an entire pot and would keep serving it until he ate. At Xiaoyu's Private Kitchen, Kesong's parents were discussing the ingredients for a dish, with her father confidently asserting that his famous Braised Spare Ribs would be a hit.

When they overheard Lin Feng on the phone, urgently mentioning "blood," they, along with the other chefs, mistakenly believed Xiaoyu needed a blood transfusion. Everyone immediately volunteered to donate, leading to a humorous argument over whose blood would be best. Lin Feng, after hanging up, clarified that Xiaoyu merely wanted to eat "duck blood," specifically the kind stir-fried with chili peppers, causing general relief and playful exasperation from the others.

Kesong's father's Braised Spare Ribs indeed became very popular, earning rave reviews and multiple orders from customers, much to his and Kesong's mother's delight. Song Yiran officially reported for duty as an employee to Chu Ting, who immediately chided him for being late on his first day.

She then laid out his extensive responsibilities, which included sleeping in the fitting room, securing the store at night, managing the security system, ensuring all lights and air conditioning were off, and meticulously mopping the floor every morning before opening. Song Yiran initially balked at the cleaning duties, suggesting they hire help, but quickly changed his mind when Chu Ting said the cost would be deducted from his salary.

She further stipulated that any lapse in these duties would result in a 20% wage deduction, to which he playfully bartered for 25%, then conceded when she threatened to let him resign if he disagreed. Boris visited Xiaoyu in the hospital, asking about her condition. Xiaoyu curtly told him she didn't need his concern and urged him to leave before Blu, who had previously beaten him, returned.

Boris expressed that he didn't blame Blu for hitting him, admitting he had been profoundly mistaken in his past bitterness and in teaching Xiaoyu to hate the world. He lamented that as a mentor, he should have guided her on how to live harmoniously with the world, but confessed he himself didn't know how.

When Blu entered and confronted him, Boris apologized for his intrusion and left a dessert he had made for Xiaoyu, regretting that he wouldn't have the chance to teach her how to make it for the finals. Although Blu tried to discard the dessert after Boris left, Xiaoyu insisted on keeping it. Elise, still in communication with Kesong, informed her that Oliver remained blind and secluded in his room.

Shortly after, Elise released an official announcement at Yuxuan, disclosing that its founder and executive chef, Oliver, had suddenly lost his sight due to illness. The news stunned the chefs, who speculated about the severity of his condition, especially given his prior loss of taste. Some expressed pessimism about Yuxuan's future, but Da Mai vehemently defended Oliver, asserting that he was a resilient figure who would overcome this challenge, just as he had countless others.

Meanwhile, Huang Shi and Madam Quentin leisurely enjoyed tea and a special dessert prepared by Huang Shi. Later, Elise convened a meeting with the Yuxuan staff. She revealed that news of Oliver's taste loss had already caused a significant drop in customer attendance and reservations, and his blindness would likely exacerbate the situation. Emphasizing that Yuxuan's immediate concern was survival rather than Michelin stars, she urged everyone to unite and support the restaurant until Oliver could return to the kitchen.

While expressing gratitude to those willing to stay, she also gave staff the freedom to leave if they lacked confidence in Yuxuan's future. At Xiaoyu's Private Kitchen, Lin Feng reported that Xiaoyu's appetite had significantly improved, especially enjoying Kesong's father's red braised spare ribs, much to his delight. While the family joyfully discussed planning a welcome-home dinner for Xiaoyu, a breaking news report on television announced Oliver's sudden blindness, shocking them all.

Kesong's mother wanted to call her immediately, but her father intervened, suggesting it was inappropriate since she was likely with Oliver. He advised sending a message asking her to come to the restaurant instead. Back at Oliver's home, Kesong carefully arranged things for him, placing water by his bedside, setting his phone to read aloud, and showing him how to call her. She then told him she had to leave for a bit but would be back soon.
