Lin Wan's agent, Meng Jiao, informed her that the upcoming dating reality show, "Three Day Lovers," was her final opportunity. If she failed to generate public interest, the company would cease providing her with resources. Lin Wan assured Meng Jiao that she would perform well this time. Just then, Liu Yan snatched a list of male guests, declaring her intent to pair with Liu Mo, a popular actor, to create headlines, disregarding the show's rules.
Meng Jiao protested, but Liu Yan dismissed the rules, claiming they were only for "extras" like Lin Wan. Liu Yan then struck Lin Wan across the face. Lin Wan's twin sister, Lin Chen, who had been observing, threatened to expose Liu Yan's two-faced behavior with a video she had recorded. Liu Yan scoffed, boasting about her six million followers compared to Lin Wan's mere sixty thousand, asserting that only popularity mattered.
Liu Yan further warned Lin Wan that she would never allow her to become famous, accusing Lin Wan of stealing her debut role while they were training overseas. Lin Chen, unfazed, then presented a trending topic idea to combine with her video of Liu Yan, effectively blackmailing her. Liu Yan, still failing to recognize Lin Chen as a twin, initially dismissed her. Lin Wan tried to intervene, explaining Lin Chen was her sister and not in the industry.
However, Lin Chen retorted that her outsider status gave her more freedom to act. She demanded the guest list from Liu Yan, calling their exchange a "special deal." Forced by Lin Chen's threat, Liu Yan returned the list and left, but not before instructing "Lin Wan" (unaware it was Lin Chen) not to wear a red dress for the upcoming photoshoot.
Meng Jiao later discussed Liu Yan's past with Lin Wan, recalling how Liu Yan had blamed Lin Wan for her own failed debut after Lin Wan had to quit training due to low blood sugar. Lin Wan, however, expressed some understanding for Liu Yan's temper. Shortly after, Lin Wan was found injured after being attacked.
Meng Jiao quickly ordered her to be taken to the hospital but then paused, explaining the severe consequences if the show discovered Lin Wan's injury: immediate replacement, a 10-year contract suspension, or a massive penalty, which would end Lin Wan's career. Meng Jiao then proposed a daring plan: Lin Chen, whose semester hadn't started, should impersonate Lin Wan for the one-month-long dating show to give her sister a fighting chance.
Despite Lin Chen's initial hesitation, Meng Jiao insisted it was their only option. Meanwhile, a staff member informed Meng Jiao and Lin Chen about a last-minute change: Liu Mo's team was unwilling to be coupled with Lin Wan, essentially sidelining her from the show. Meng Jiao immediately suspected Liu Yan's machinations, accusing the production team of trying to force them out.
Lin Chen, taking on the persona of Lin Wan, confirmed that she could remain on the show as long as she found a partner. Undeterred by the challenge, she resolved to try. Lin Chen then approached a male guest, whom she believed to be Zhao Chen, in Room 809. She explained Liu Yan's scheme to pair with Liu Mo and proposed a temporary partnership as an introductory couple, as the show swapped partners every three days.
Lin Chen offered a reward of 100,000, framing it as an easy way for him to earn money while helping her stay in the competition. However, when the man turned to face her and spoke, questioning if 100,000 was too little, Lin Chen realized with a shock that she was speaking to Lu Xun, the very person she had confessed her feelings to in her youth. This revelation left her stunned and speechless.
Earlier, Lu Xun, having come in person, had already discussed the third male guest, Zhao Chen, and Liu Yan's attempts to eliminate Lin Wan, deciding to ensure Lin Wan stayed on the show.
