> Catch Up My Prince Recap

Lu Ranran decided it was time to clarify her relationship with Zhao Chen Yi, especially since her "good feelings" for him remained at zero. As they met, Zhao Chen Yi also indicated he had something to say. Lu Ranran began by telling him a story about two lovers who couldn't be together, hinting it was their own tale. Zhao Chen Yi expressed his dislike for the story. Lu Ranran then plainly stated that she could not marry him.

Confused and hurt, Zhao Chen Yi pressed her for a reason, promising to change if he had done something wrong. However, Lu Ranran insisted some things couldn't be changed, referencing the zero score in their relationship. She compared her situation to a moth drawn to a flame, having no choice, but unlike the moth, she had to survive and make it home.

She returned a hairpin to Zhao Chen Yi, declaring it was going back to its rightful owner and that they were not destined to be together. Although heartbroken, Lu Ranran left, believing it was better to save them both further pain. Devastated by Lu Ranran's words, Zhao Chen Yi returned to his quarters, ordering his servants away and lamenting her seemingly heartless rejection. He began drinking heavily, unable to comprehend her decision to end their relationship.

Li Lingwei observed Zhao Chen Yi's despair and was angered by his apparent indifference to her deceased sister while showing such profound care for Lu Ranran. Believing Lu Ranran had finally seen Zhao Chen Yi's true colors, Li Lingwei invited Lu Ranran to her room for a gathering, claiming she wished to apologize. Upon arriving at Li Lingwei's residence, Lu Ranran felt an uneasy sensation.

Li Lingwei repeatedly offered her wine, and after three cups, Lu Ranran felt herself growing dizzy. Li Lingwei then confessed she had poisoned Lu Ranran, intending for her to meet the same fate as her sister. She revealed they were in the very room where her sister had died in a fire, blaming Zhao Chen Yi for it all.

Li Lingwei then set the room ablaze and departed, sending a letter to Zhao Chen Yi informing him that Lu Ranran would soon be joining her sister. Trapped amidst the spreading flames, Lu Ranran feared she would surely die. Zhao Chen Yi rushed to the burning building after receiving Li Lingwei's ominous letter.

Despite Li Lingwei's attempts to stop him and her questioning why he would go to such extremes for Lu Ranran, Zhao Chen Yi pushed past her and plunged into the inferno. He emerged with Lu Ranran, much to Li Lingwei's shock and anger, who demanded an explanation for his actions compared to his indifference towards her sister. Zhao Chen Yi ignored her and immediately took Lu Ranran to the medical hall.

After ensuring Lu Ranran was not severely injured, only suffering from smoke inhalation, and would recover with rest and medicine, Zhao Chen Yi, despite his own wounds, quickly left. Li Lingwei confronted Zhao Chen Yi again, demanding to know why he saved Lu Ranran but allowed her sister to die. Zhao Chen Yi admitted he saved Lu Ranran because he loved her.

He then offered a heartfelt apology, confessing he never truly loved her sister and was wrong to use her, though he never intended for her to die. Li Lingwei, still grieving, accused him of being heartless and questioned what Lu Ranran possessed that her sister did not, claiming her sister had loved him enough to die for him.

Zhao Chen Yi conceded that he could never truly compensate for the pain he caused her and her sister, but earnestly pleaded with Li Lingwei to direct all her hatred towards him and spare the person he loved. Observing Zhao Chen Yi's raw pain, Li Lingwei reflected on the bitter irony that both her sister and Zhao Chen Yi were suffering from unrequited love. Meanwhile, Zhao Chenxuan visited Lu Ranran, who had recovered consciousness.

He cared for her, bringing her medicine and advising her against moving too much due to her injuries. Lu Ranran, however, still wondered if Zhao Chen Yi had come to see her. When Zhao Chenxuan confirmed he had not, she expressed a desire to confront Zhao Chen Yi, but Zhao Chenxuan gently restrained her, insisting she prioritize her recovery. After Zhao Chenxuan left, Zhao Chenyao arrived.

Though Lu Ranran was still slightly uncomfortable with him, he wordlessly offered her a tonic pill, which she recognized as a beneficial medicine, confirming his quiet care for her. Zhao Chenyao's aide later urged him to confess his feelings to Lu Ranran, but Zhao Chenyao admitted she seemed afraid of him, and he desired her genuine affection, not mere respect. Later, Li Lingwei came to visit Lu Ranran.

Lu Ranran initially felt a surge of fear, but Li Lingwei knelt and offered a sincere apology for attempting to harm her, admitting it was an act of revenge. Lu Ranran, in turn, told Li Lingwei that she was mistaken in her revenge because Zhao Chen Yi did not even like her, suggesting that both she and Li Lingwei's sister were essentially the same in his eyes.

When Li Lingwei offered Lu Ranran a life-saving medicine as further apology, Lu Ranran accepted it and thanked her. Li Lingwei asked why Lu Ranran wasn't exposing her, to which Lu Ranran replied that since her injuries were not severe, there was no need to reopen old wounds. Li Lingwei suspected Lu Ranran's leniency was for Zhao Chen Yi's sake, but Lu Ranran clarified that her relationship with him was over.

Li Lingwei then mused that despite their feelings for each other, there seemed to be a profound misunderstanding between Lu Ranran and Zhao Chen Yi. The Crown Prince's health began to deteriorate significantly, causing concern for Lu Ranran. That night, Lu Ranran waited for Zhao Chen Yi, hoping he would visit, but he never appeared. Watching him indulge in revelry, she grew disheartened, believing he truly did not care for her, even though she was deeply in love.

Unbeknownst to her, Zhao Chen Yi still harbored feelings for her but deliberately kept his distance. The Crown Prince then suffered a severe bout of coughing blood while reviewing memorials. This turn for the worse was orchestrated by the Empress, who, with the help of Xin'er, aimed to hasten the Crown Prince's demise. The Empress Dowager was greatly alarmed, and the imperial physician confirmed the Crown Prince had been poisoned.

The Emperor, enraged, tasked Zhao Chenyao with a thorough investigation to find the culprit. Zhao Chen Yi, learning of Xin'er's involvement and subsequent flight, told Zhao Chenxuan that he could not show favoritism if she was indeed guilty. Meanwhile, Xin'er attempted to poison Lu Ranran. Lu Ranran, realizing the danger, tried to escape, only to encounter Zhao Chenyao. She used this opportunity to evade Xin'er's attack, noting Xin'er's surprising martial arts prowess.

Just then, the Empress arrived and immediately accused Lu Ranran of poisoning the Crown Prince. Despite Lu Ranran's protests, the Empress ordered both her and Xin'er arrested, silencing Xin'er who seemed about to implicate Lu Ranran. The Empress also subtly threatened Xin'er by mentioning her younger brother, coercing her into cooperation. Upon hearing of Lu Ranran's arrest, Zhao Chenxuan immediately went to intercede with the Emperor.

However, the Emperor was furious, chastising Zhao Chenxuan for even daring to request the release of someone accused of treason. He angrily noted that Lu Ranran had been implicated in a previous poisoning incident concerning the Crown Prince and was now a suspect again, dismissing Zhao Chenxuan's pleas of her kindness as ridiculous coincidences. The Emperor declared that unless Zhao Chenxuan could provide irrefutable proof that Lu Ranran had been framed, he would not consider her release.
