Synopsis
Shen Lin, after being a full-time homemaker for five years, faced her husband Na Wei's unemployment, leaving the couple jobless with a second child to feed and a mortgage looming every month. After repeated setbacks in her return to the workforce, Shen Lin chose to start a street stall selling braised meats to re-enter employment.
Shen Lei, a graduate from a prestigious university, worked in the archives department of his company, leading a peaceful and unambitious life. However, his wife Xie Meilan divorced him for his contentment with the status quo. Devastated, Shen Lei quit his job and retreated to the Zhongnan Mountains to live in seclusion.
Na Jun, a programmer earning a million yuan a year, developed panic disorder due to the intense work pressure. Fearing unemployment, he desperately concealed his condition, which his girlfriend Li Xiaoyue—who embraced a "carpe diem" philosophy—struggled to understand. The two, though deeply in love, grew increasingly distant.
Facing their respective life crises, they neither blamed others nor wallowed in self-pity. Instead, they confronted their inner struggles and worked together to overcome the challenges.
