Han Sen was trying to force Lin Heping to sell him the "The Beacon on the Other Shore" painting at the exhibition. Han Sen claimed it was painted by his girlfriend, Qiao Man, and insisted he had the right to take it, even offering €50,000. Lin Heping, however, declared it his collection and refused to sell. Qiao Man intervened, pulling Han Sen away from the confrontation.

She confirmed that she had willingly sold the painting to Lin Heping after signing a contract and receiving payment, criticizing Han Sen's aggressive attempt to forcibly buy it back as unreasonable and akin to robbery. She then pressed him to reveal the source of the large sum of money he had. An Kailun then approached, admitting he provided the money to Han Sen.

He revealed that Han Sen is his half-brother, explaining that despite their strained relationship, family ties compelled him to help. Qiao Man was enraged by the deception, feeling foolish for constantly mediating between them. The exhibition successfully opened with Lin Heping and An Kailun toasting. During the event, An Kailun's wife was seen taking photos, which Yang Lan promptly stopped, citing rules against photographing the unique artworks to protect artists' rights. Lin Heping stepped in to smooth things over.

He then began searching for Qiao Man, prompting Yang Lan to playfully suggest he was captivated by the "little tour guide." Xiao Zhi informed Lin Heping that Qiao Man was in a foul mood and likely wouldn't attend, having just been fired from her job. Han Sen confronted An Kailun, enraged that Qiao Man now believed he had deceived her after learning about their sibling relationship.

An Kailun defended his decision, reiterating the importance of family ties, and then urged Han Sen to return to the family business to help expand it. Han Sen refused, expressing a wish for the An Group's downfall and recalling An Kailun's past aggressive actions against his own ventures. An Kailun countered by appealing to Han Sen's desire for Qiao Man's happiness, stating that he couldn't secure her future if he remained unsuccessful.

This argument convinced Han Sen, who reluctantly agreed to join, but stipulated that he would have full autonomy over his assigned business. An Kailun agreed, entrusting him with pioneering the red wine market in China. Han Sen later sought out Qiao Man to apologize for concealing his relationship with An Kailun. He then informed her of his decision to return to China to lead the expansion of the wine market and asked her to accompany him, presenting a ring.

Qiao Man refused his proposal, stating she was not suitable for him. Han Sen, however, declared that he only desired someone he loved and vowed that the ring would wait for her acceptance, asserting that he would return after building his own empire. As Han Sen left, Qiao Man called out for him to take care, reflecting on the sudden void she felt, realizing how accustomed she had become to his presence in her life.

Meanwhile, Zhuo Yang pulled Yang Lan away from the exhibition, eager to show her how much he had changed. He brought her to Xiao Zhi's apartment, pretending it was his own and claiming to have bought it through years of hard work. Impressed, Yang Lan expressed regret over their past breakup, which she attributed to his previous lack of ambition, and wondered if they could rekindle their relationship. As they began to get intimate, Xiao Zhi unexpectedly returned home.

She immediately confronted Zhuo Yang and, when Yang Lan claimed he owned the apartment, Xiao Zhi vehemently exposed his lie, revealing that it was her house and that she had supported him since his arrival in Barcelona. Zhuo Yang attempted to explain that Yang Lan was just an old friend, but Xiao Zhi, seeing them together, refused to believe him. Heartbroken by Zhuo Yang's dismissal of her as "just a normal friend," Yang Lan left.

Xiao Zhi then declared their relationship over and kicked Zhuo Yang out. Later, Zhuo Yang confided in Lin Heping over drinks, expressing deep regret and admitting he only wanted to reclaim the respect he felt he had lost. He lamented the hardships of being alone overseas, feeling pressured to portray a successful image. Lin Heping offered words of encouragement and extended an invitation for Zhuo Yang to seek him out if he decided to return to China.

While A Li was at Lin Heping's house, the new floor manager, He Duo, knocked on the door. He inquired about Lin Heping's whereabouts, pretending to be concerned about the gas bill, and mistakenly assumed A Li was Lin Heping's girlfriend. A Li informed him that Lin Heping was overseas for an exhibition and would be gone for at least a week.

After A Li left, He Duo called an accomplice named Mao Zi, revealing that his new role was a cover for his plan to steal Lin Heping's extensive collection of famous paintings. He instructed Mao Zi to wait for his command to execute the theft. Qiao Man, accompanied by a comforting Xiao Zhi, met with An Kailun. Qiao Man assured him she was no longer angry about the revelation of his relationship with Han Sen.

An Kailun apologized for the deception and then requested Qiao Man accompany Han Sen back to China to oversee the wine business, believing her steadying influence would aid his development. Qiao Man, however, declined, stating she had her own plans and viewed Han Sen strictly as a brother, adding that he might even thrive more independently. Lin Heping reflected on his undeniable pull towards Qiao Man, constantly wanting to see her happy.

As the exhibition neared its end, he brought her a gift and announced his imminent return to China. Qiao Man wished him well. He expressed his sadness at their impending separation, though Qiao Man suggested they could stay in touch through WeChat. Despite knowing she was not Nan Sheng, Lin Heping struggled with his deep feelings for Qiao Man.

Han Sen prepared to return to China, affirming his resolve to build a successful career, believing that achieving his own empire was essential for Qiao Man to respect him. Meanwhile, Qiao Man was at the airport to see her sister, Qiao Fang, off to China. Qiao Fang expressed her reluctance to leave Qiao Man alone, and Qiao Man mused that China might be a more suitable place for her after all.

He Jianfeng met with A Li and returned an account book she provided, declaring it fake and stating he could not sign it, as the company's impending public listing required a clean financial audit. A Li pressed him, but He Jianfeng refused, explaining that faking tens of millions was impossible to conceal. Frustrated, A Li instructed her subordinate to monitor He Jianfeng.

Elsewhere, He Duo, disguised as a renovator with an accomplice, confirmed that Lin Heping was away and ordered his accomplice to proceed with drilling through the wall to steal the paintings inside. As Lin Heping prepared for his return to China, he invited Qiao Man to a celebration feast. Qiao Man, having located the owner of the problematic house she bought, informed him of her intention to go back to China to find the person. Lin Heping then suggested they return to China together.
