Xu Zhi left first. Li Ke asked Chen Luzhou what was going on. Chen Luzhou asked if there were really that many people chasing after Xu Zhi. Li Ke said yes—Jiang Yu liked Xu Zhi and was even in the same department as her. Li Ke explained that Xu Zhi’s roommate and Jiang Yu were classmates, and it was the roommate who set things up so Xu Zhi joined the publicity department.
Jiang Yu had the advantage of being close, so if Chen Luzhou wanted to pursue her, he had to hurry up. While chatting with Xu Zhi, Cai Yingying accidentally let it slip and had no choice but to admit that she had seen Chen Luzhou at Zhu Yangqi’s place. Cai Yingying promised this would absolutely be the last time and said that no matter what happens in the future, her best friend would come first.
Xu Zhi declared they were "friends on break" for twenty-four hours and went back to the dorm to calm down and do her homework. When Xu Zhi returned, a senior said Jiang Yu seemed pretty nice and asked what Xu Zhi thought. Xu Zhi replied that she didn’t have feelings for Jiang Yu, so the senior let it go. Liu Yisi talked about her boyfriend, feeling frustrated that he always made arrangements for her, which she didn’t like.
Xu Zhi suggested that Liu Yisi should talk it through with him. Chen Luzhou got the class schedule for the architecture department from a roommate. He waited for Xu Zhi at the cafeteria and explained that there had been a bombing incident in Ruicheng, which scared his mother so much that she agreed to let him stay.
He originally planned to retake the entrance exam but happened to see the supplementary admission opportunity here and decided to give it a try. Xu Zhi asked why Chen Luzhou hadn’t told her. Chen Luzhou said he didn’t know if it would work out at the time, so he didn’t dare say anything. When Xu Zhi went to class, Chen Luzhou had already saved her a seat.
Later, one of Xu Zhi’s roommates saw her talking with Chen Luzhou and was surprised by how well they seemed to get along. When Xu Zhi got back, her roommate pressed her about her relationship with Chen Luzhou, and only then did they learn that he was actually her ex-boyfriend. They thought he seemed pretty decent. Chen Luzhou and Li Ke went to the library to study. A girl came over and asked Chen Luzhou if he had a girlfriend.
Chen Luzhou said it wasn’t convenient to talk there, and they could go outside. As they stepped out, Xu Zhi and her roommates happened to arrive at the library. Chen Luzhou said he was in the process of getting back with his ex-girlfriend. After returning, Li Ke asked if he had run into Xu Zhi, and Chen Luzhou said yes, downstairs.
Chen Luzhou believed Xu Zhi must be jealous, but Li Ke, seeing how calm she looked, thought she had already moved on. Chen Luzhou’s mother called and said he hadn’t taken his card with him, so she transferred his living expenses to his WeChat account. Chen Luzhou said there was no need—he would try to earn a scholarship. His mother pointed out that the scholarship was only fifteen thousand, and after tuition, there wouldn’t be much left.
She said she would transfer money to him anyway, and it was up to him whether he used it or not. She sent him ten thousand yuan. Zhao Tianqi overheard and said there were some part-time jobs at school. Chen Luzhou explained that Zhao Tianqi misunderstood—he just didn’t want to use his family’s money. Zhao Tianqi noted that Chen Luzhou didn’t seem like someone short on cash, seeing how he played with drones.
Liu Yisi wasn’t doing well in her architecture design course and said the teacher mentioned using drones to view building exteriors could be helpful. She heard Chen Luzhou had a drone and wanted Xu Zhi to help ask him. Xu Zhi agreed to give it a try. Xu Zhi went to ask Chen Luzhou, and he agreed. He told her to just let him know when they needed it.
For Liu Yisi’s birthday, she wanted to invite both Zhao Tianqi and Chen Luzhou. Xu Zhi said she had no objections. Two days earlier, Chen Luzhou had played basketball with Jiang Yu. Jiang Yu had figured out that Chen Luzhou was Xu Zhi’s ex-boyfriend and said that Xu Zhi accepted his friend request because his profile picture was the same as Chen Luzhou’s. Xu Zhi wasn’t sure if it was Chen Luzhou’s alternate account.
Her earring—which was probably a gift from Chen Luzhou—had gone missing during the school party, and she had searched for it for a long time. Jiang Yu told Chen Luzhou that if he wanted to win Xu Zhi back, he shouldn’t hurt her and definitely shouldn’t give others a chance. After dinner, on the way back, it started to rain. Chen Luzhou pulled Xu Zhi aside to take cover from the rain and asked if she had missed him. Xu Zhi said no, and Chen Luzhou kissed her.
