Be My Princess Episode 18 Recap
> Be My Princess Recap
Princess Ming Hua, despite being pregnant, found no joy in anticipating a new life. As she gazed upon the vibrant spring garden, her servants lamented her unhappy marriage, a stark contrast to the loving facade she maintained. The moment prompted memories of her first encounter with Mu Yun. Meanwhile, Ming Qiao confessed her feelings to Xiao Zhao, but he impatiently dismissed her and left. Ming Qiao pursued him, only to be met with a blunt "I don't like you."
Later, Ming Wei expressed her disapproval of the relationship, cautioning Ming Qiao to keep her distance from Xiao Zhao, who, despite being single, was known for always being surrounded by women. However, Ming Qiao was undeterred. She interpreted his unusual rejection as a sign that she was special to him, believing that his refusal to engage, unlike with other girls, highlighted how much he truly cherished her.
She insisted that she was grown up and wished to resolve the matter herself. Ming Wei arrived for a photo shoot, only to discover that Wang Yingying had unexpectedly taken over as the lead. Confused, Ming Wei sought out her agent, Shen Su, for an explanation. Shen Su revealed that the client had made a last-minute change.
Though Shen Su tried to comfort Ming Wei, telling her that such setbacks were common, Ming Wei resolved to rely on her own strength rather than borrowed fame. Elsewhere, Wang Yingying expressed her satisfaction to the man who had arranged the swap, pleased to have taken the job from Ming Wei. Feeling unlucky in both her career and love life, Ming Wei vented her frustration by furiously cleaning her apartment.
In a parallel moment, Mu Tingzhou was also found obsessively cleaning his home. His sister, Xu Lin, arrived and suggested he travel to the UK for treatment with a top neurologist she knew. Mu Tingzhou firmly refused. Xu Lin suspected he was afraid that recovering his memories would prevent him from continuing his life as the Grand Tutor. She offered to help him clean, admitting her own love life was also in ruins.
Restless and unwilling to give up, Ming Qiao went to Mu Tingzhou's house looking for Xiao Zhao. When the staff announced "Miss Ming," Mu Tingzhou assumed it was Ming Wei, but was surprised to see Ming Qiao. He initially thought she was there on her sister's behalf.
Mu Tingzhou admitted his feelings for "Her Highness" had not changed, and Ming Qiao encouraged him to pursue Ming Wei, insisting he still had a chance and that they shouldn't waste their lives in sadness. Seeing a flicker of hope, Mu Tingzhou offered Ming Qiao his phone to call Xiao Zhao, believing his friend would answer his call.
On the phone, Xiao Zhao attempted to deter Ming Qiao by claiming he preferred "gorgeous and sexy" women who enjoyed nightlife, implying she was not his type. Determined to prove him wrong, Ming Qiao donned a striking outfit and went to the nightclub where he was. Though Xiao Zhao feigned indifference, he instinctively intervened when another man, Qi Yu, began harassing her. Ming Qiao then embraced Xiao Zhao and, hearing his heart pound, excitedly pointed out his true feelings.
The seasoned player was visibly flustered by the encounter, later finding himself unable to stop thinking about her. Ming Wei thought she had composed herself, but broke down upon hearing her father's voice on the phone. Understanding her distress, he gently led her home for the upcoming Spring Festival. While watching her mother skillfully make dumplings, Ming Wei was reminded of a time when Mu Tingzhou had adeptly done the same for her.
On New Year's Eve, while her family was joyous, the Mu family home was eerily quiet. Xu Lin tried to coax Mu Tingzhou out of his study to join his parents for dinner, but he remained secluded. That night, Ming Wei anxiously waited for a call from Mu Tingzhou, who was also hesitating to contact her. When her phone finally rang, she answered immediately, only to discover it was her pushy suitor, Cheng Yao. She abruptly hung up.
Her phone rang again shortly after; annoyed and assuming it was Cheng Yao, she rejected the call, unaware it was actually from Mu Tingzhou. Moments later, Cheng Yao called yet again, professing his enduring affection and telling her he wanted her now that Mu Tingzhou had left her. Disgusted, Ming Wei hung up on him.
When her phone rang a fourth time, she answered angrily, only to find it was, at last, Mu Tingzhou, who simply wished to offer his "Highness" New Year's greetings. Meanwhile, Ming Qiao messaged Xiao Zhao, informing him that she was spending the New Year with her sister and asking about his plans.
