Be My Cat Episode 11 Recap
> Be My Cat Recap
Mo Xiuran rescued Little Mint from an attack, but stubbornly denied caring for her. He walked away with his broken hairpin, only for Mo Yuji to arrive shortly after, excitedly holding a jade hairpin he had obtained. That evening, a celebration was held for the three teams—Mo Xiuran's, Mo Yuji's, and General Hu Yan's—who had successfully passed the second round and would now proceed to the final physical contest.
During the ceremony, the Castellan's wife attempted to disqualify Mo Xiuran, using his broken hairpin as an excuse. However, Mo Xiuran revealed that he had enlisted the best artisans in Sunset City to repair the hairpin, carving a mint leaf onto it and leaving no trace of the damage. The Castellan's wife was silenced, and the Castellan, eager to move past the awkwardness, ordered music and dancing to entertain the guests.
He also assured everyone that Lord Xiao was thoroughly investigating the recent assassination attempts. At the banquet, Mo Yuji approached Mo Xiuran, speculating that the mysterious "Heavenly Hound" could be one of the contestants, an organizer, or even Lord Xiao, as the assassin seemed privy to their every move. Mo Yuji declared that he would expose the Heavenly Hound to give Little Mint a complete White Soul Orb, but Mo Xiuran sternly told him to stay out of it.
Meanwhile, General Hu Yan attempted to toast Princess Nan Pingwan, who, clearly annoyed by his advances and her parents' arrangements, excused herself, claiming she felt unwell. Luo Feng promptly followed her. Little Mint was then summoned by a guard to speak with Lord Xiao. Lord Xiao inquired if she had any enemies in Sunset City, as the Glass Lamp attack earlier clearly targeted her. Little Mint denied any feuds, being new to the city.
Lord Xiao then asked if her brother, Su Zi Mo, had any enemies. Little Mint pressed him for information, but Lord Xiao claimed to have no clues, stating that the Prince had mentioned her search for her brother. He suspected Su Zi Mo might be connected to the assassins and cautioned Little Mint not to reveal that they had met. Upon returning, Little Mint found the banquet had dispersed.
A drunken General Hu Yan was lamenting that Princess Nan Pingwan didn't like him. Little Mint asked him for Mo Xiuran's whereabouts, learning he had gone towards the pond. Mo Xiuran was sitting by a rockery, reflecting on Mo Yuji's observation about the Heavenly Hound knowing their every move. He recalled a past warning from Bu Ou that the Heavenly Hound could read minds and control puppets, leaving a red mark on a person's forehead if their mind was read.
When Little Mint approached him, he noticed a faint red glow on her forehead. She recounted her private conversation with Lord Xiao, and Mo Xiuran strictly ordered her not to act without his permission and to be wary of Lord Xiao. Elsewhere, Nan Pingwan, frustrated by her parents' arrangements and her unrequited feelings for Mo Xiuran, was angrily shooting arrows. She accidentally cut her hand, and Luo Feng immediately rushed to her side, bandaging her wound.
In her drunken state, Nan Pingwan confessed her love for Mo Xiuran, lamenting that he ignored her despite her efforts. She felt she couldn't compete with Little Mint for his affection, especially after witnessing how desperately he had saved Little Mint. Luo Feng silently listened, then reassured her that he would risk his life to save her, just as Mo Xiuran had saved Little Mint. The next day, Nan Pingwan offered Mo Xiuran the White Soul Orb from her dowry.
She understood his need for it to attract and subdue the Heavenly Hound, who exploited people's minds. Mo Xiuran refused, stating he didn't need coerced feelings and that the Heavenly Hound's threat extended to all of Sunset City. He confirmed he had a plan to make the Heavenly Hound reveal itself, and Nan Pingwan pledged her full support.
Soon after, Lord Xiao announced the third and final round: a mission to collect the Falling Cherry Blossoms from the dangerous Sunset Forest. He informed the contestants that he would be waiting for them at the finish line. On the way into the forest, Little Mint recognized a mark she had made, realizing they were caught in a smokescreen and had returned to their starting point.
Mo Xiuran, concerned for Little Mint's safety, used this opportunity to ensure she and Mo Yuji were out of the competition. He and Luo Feng then left them. Later, Mo Xiuran and General Hu Yan arrived at the finish line. General Hu Yan proposed a deal: if he married the Princess, Mo Xiuran could have the dowry.
Their conversation was interrupted by an attack from a group of black-clad assassins, who Luo Feng identified as puppets that could only be killed by piercing their hearts. Mo Xiuran pursued Lord Xiao and checked his eyes, confirming he did not possess the crescent-shaped pupils characteristic of the Heavenly Hound. Mo Yuji and Little Mint eventually arrived.
During the fight, Little Mint used a box lid to block an assassin's blade, which inexplicably caused the attacker to suffer a headache, buying Mo Xiuran time to intervene. Little Mint managed to retrieve the Falling Cherry Blossoms and presented them to Mo Xiuran, hoping it would reconcile their differences. Mo Xiuran accepted the flowers, securing his victory.
The Castellan promptly announced that a grand wedding banquet would be held the very next day for Mo Xiuran and Princess Nan Pingwan. General Hu Yan objected, but the Castellan firmly dismissed him. Princess Nan Pingwan also assented to the marriage. Little Mint watched, visibly upset, and drank heavily. Later that night, a very drunk Little Mint stumbled into Mo Xiuran's room. She confronted him, believing he was only marrying the Princess to obtain the Soul Orb for her.
She offered to return the Blue Soul Orb if he called off the wedding, and even tearfully offered to love him like Zhu Ying Tai loved Liang Shan Bo. Mo Xiuran, however, explained he couldn't let her take such risks and turned her back into a cat. The following morning, Luo Feng was seen preparing for the wedding, applying makeup to disguise himself as the Princess. Meanwhile, Little Mint woke up, confused about how she had returned to her room. As she stepped out, she saw servants carrying wedding items, a stark reminder of the impending marriage.
