Qin Huai woke up in Zhou You’s room with a pounding headache, unable to recall the events of the previous night. Zhou You recounted finding him wasted and asleep in a garden bed, adding that his phone and wallet had been stolen. Qin Huai remarked that even with strong defensive awareness, one could still fall into a security loophole in real life. He suspected his drink had been spiked, as he only had one drink.

Zhou You then pressed him, curious about "Chen Mo," a name Qin Huai had been babbling about all night. Qin Huai, however, deflected the question. Later, Qin Huai visited the police station and learned from Officer Guo that his blood test revealed residual psychotropic drugs, commonly used in assault cases. He tried to inquire about Chen Mo, but Officer Guo, also having heard the name from Qin Huai the night before, asked him who Chen Mo was.

Qin Huai evaded her question. A few days later, Qin Huai received a text notification stating that he had successfully checked in at the Cybersecurity Summit. He immediately suspected Zhou You had impersonated him to attend. His suspicions were confirmed when he arrived at the summit and found Zhou You attempting to take photos in a restricted area without an invitation.

Qin Huai intervened, presenting his own invitation and claiming Zhou You was his secretary, thus resolving the situation with the staff. As the summit officially began, the lights dimmed, focusing on the stage. Ma Pingchuan, CTO of Hupo Group, introduced the company’s new flagship product, the Hupo Security Service Group, or "HuCloud." He boasted about its impenetrable defenses and announced a cybersecurity challenge, offering a grand prize to anyone who could breach three of HuCloud's five defenses.

Zhou You was eager to participate, but Qin Huai wanted to leave. During the event, Qin Huai also encountered Lawyer Lin Shuo, who thanked him for helping her at the bar previously and offered to treat him to dinner. In the challenge, Zhou You adeptly broke through two lines of defense but found himself struggling with the third as time ran out. Qin Huai, observing his partner, stepped forward, advising him not to solely focus on attacking.

Annoyed by the unexpected counter-attack from the system, Zhou You, still confident in his skills, challenged Qin Huai to take his place. Qin Huai took the stage and skillfully navigated the system, quickly breaching all three defenses to win the competition. The crowd erupted in applause, and Zhou You watched, astonished by Qin Huai’s incredible ability. During the award presentation, Zhou You went to receive the prize, which Ma Pingchuan presented.

Ma Pingchuan recognized Qin Huai and commented on his new young and brilliant partner. Qin Huai reminded Ma Pingchuan of a past incident where Ma Pingchuan, as Vice President of the Cybersecurity Association, had defamed his former partner, Chen Mo, leading to Chen Mo's professional ruin. Ma Pingchuan justified his actions, stating it was his responsibility to remove a "morally corrupt member" and protect the industry's credibility.

Qin Huai, disgusted by Ma Pingchuan's hypocrisy, had refused to work with him back then. In the present, Ma Pingchuan noted that five years had passed, and Hupo had become an industry leader while Qin Huai remained unchanged. Qin Huai retorted that Ma Pingchuan's server should also "do better."

Ma Pingchuan then offered Zhou You a job at Hupo with ten times his current annual salary, an offer Zhou You later proudly declined to Qin Huai, stating his dislike for Ma Pingchuan despite the generous compensation. Qin Huai pointed out that Ma Pingchuan was not only Hupo’s technical director but also the Vice President of the Security Association, someone not to be easily offended.

Qin Huai then received an urgent call from his Godmother, who, upon his arrival, tearfully confessed that she had been in secret contact with Chen Mo for years, but he had explicitly forbidden her from telling Qin Huai. She was worried because Chen Mo had not responded to her birthday message for several days, an unusual occurrence. Qin Huai examined her phone for clues.

Taking the information to Officer Guo, Qin Huai learned that Chen Mo's last known location was suspiciously close to a fraud syndicate’s hideout in Taimanda. Officer Guo recalled an anonymous tip email about the syndicate that had been sent from Taimanda, suggesting Chen Mo might have been the informant. She speculated that the syndicate might have retaliated against Chen Mo for sending the email, putting him in grave danger.

Meanwhile, Chen Mo was held captive in a remote house, his face and body bruised and bloodied. His interrogator, who seemed to recognize him from a previous encounter in Chiang Mai, demanded to know who sent him – a rival or the police. Chen Mo maintained he was "just a nobody trying to get by," but his captor did not believe him and threatened him.

Separately, other members of the fraud syndicate discussed the "General" in Taimanda having caught Chen Mo, the tipster. They planned to inform the Taimanda police to take down the General, leveraging the situation. In another dimly lit room, a woman desperately tried to escape, banging on a locked door with an iron rod.
