Episode 1 Recap

Cheng Ming awoke from a vivid dream where she was a successful musical theater actress, bathed in the spotlight and applause for her original songs. The joyful illusion shattered as her mother's loud calls roused her from sleep. Cheng Ming's mother was determined for her daughter to attend Qingbei University, while Cheng Ming longed for a career on the stage. Her father, typically submissive to his wife, offered little resistance.

Cheng Ming's mother, dismissing her daughter's artistic aspirations as impractical given their family's background, tore down Cheng Ming's beloved music poster, insisting she focus solely on the upcoming college entrance exams. Despite her mother's forceful opposition, Cheng Ming resolved to break free and pursue her dream, deciding to participate in the Starry Arts Academy's entrance examination that very day.

Meanwhile, top idol You Zhiqi, who suffered from nyctophobia stemming from childhood trauma, was thrown into a panic when a sudden power outage plunged his recording studio into darkness while he was reviewing demo songs. A warm and powerful female voice from a demo playing in the background gradually calmed his fears. When the power returned, You Zhiqi expressed keen interest in the song.

His manager, You You, explained that the demos were from the "Girl's Heavenly Voice Audition Program" and were currently unorganized, making it impossible to identify the singer. You Zhiqi's acting skills had recently been criticized by fans and even by renowned Starry Arts Academy Professor Li Shuangbai after a previous power outage incident affected his performance. Driven by a desire to prove his talent beyond his idol status, You Zhiqi decided to apply for Starry Arts Academy.

You You strongly disagreed, warning that this unconventional move would jeopardize his career and potentially ruin his future as a top idol. Undeterred by You You's objections, You Zhiqi secretly coordinated with his psychologist to evade his manager's control. The psychologist successfully acted as a decoy, initially drawing away a large crowd of excited fans and reporters who had gathered at Starry Arts Academy, expecting You Zhiqi's arrival.

However, his most dedicated fans soon realized the deception and spotted the real You Zhiqi, who had to make a swift escape. At the same time, Cheng Ming found herself cornered by a reporter from Suipai Current News, who attempted to interview her about You Zhiqi's rumored appearance at the academy. Fearing her mother would discover her presence, Cheng Ming quickly fled the interview.

Both You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming, desperate to escape their respective pursuers, independently sought refuge in the women's restroom. You Zhiqi, upon seeing Cheng Ming, mistakenly assumed she was one of his persistent stalker fans and lectured her. To ensure her silence about their encounter, he signed the charm on her backpack, presenting it as a "gift" and making her promise not to reveal what she had seen.

Cheng Ming pointed out that he was in the women's restroom, prompting a mortified You Zhiqi to flee in embarrassment. Later, in the exam preparation room, Cheng Ming encountered fellow applicants, including Qu Shiyun, a former child star who was verbally challenged by another candidate named Amy. Amy, however, was friendly towards Cheng Ming. Cheng Ming realized her admission card was missing and worried she might have dropped it in the restroom.

Just then, a senior student named Wei Feng approached her, returning the card he had found. Cheng Ming was grateful for his kindness and chivalry. As the art examination commenced, You Zhiqi was among the first to be called. He directly addressed Professor Li Shuangbai, declaring his intention to prove that his success was based on skill, not merely popularity. Li Shuangbai, visibly surprised by his decision to participate in an entrance exam despite his established celebrity, listened intently.

While Cheng Ming was preparing for her turn, her mother saw a live stream on her phone featuring Cheng Ming at the Starry Arts Academy. Furious, she immediately rushed to the academy and intercepted Cheng Ming just as she was about to enter the examination room. Their heated argument drew the attention of other students and faculty, including Li Shuangbai. Her mother vehemently opposed her artistic aspirations, insisting she focus solely on academics.

Under the persuasion of Li Shuangbai and others, Cheng Ming's mother reluctantly agreed to let her take the exam. Stepping onto the stage, a nervous Cheng Ming shared her dream of becoming a musical actress on the world's biggest stage. Cheng Ming delivered an emotional performance that deeply moved the panel of judges, marking a significant step towards realizing her musical theater dream.

Episode 2 Recap

Cheng Ming successfully gained admission to Starry Arts Academy, a goal she had passionately pursued. Her mother, while still wishing Cheng Ming had chosen a more conventional path like attending Qingbei University, eventually accepted her daughter's decision. Over the phone, Cheng Ming's father put her mother on speaker, who expressed her disappointment, feeling that years of hard work were being wasted on studying music, a field with uncertain job prospects.

Her father, however, spoke proudly of Starry Arts Academy and urged Cheng Ming to pursue her dreams. Cheng Ming reassured them, promising to study diligently and prove that her choice in art would lead to a bright future. Arriving at her student dormitory, Room 302, Cheng Ming was startled by the overwhelmingly pink decorations.

She quickly realized her roommate, Qu Shiyun, a self-proclaimed "famous child star" (who also called herself "Clarence Qu"), was responsible for transforming the room into her "Princess' Fairy Tale World." Soon after, Amy entered and immediately expressed her disgust, calling the decor "tacky" and "dull," and accusing Qu Shiyun of lacking aesthetic sense. Amy, who had just returned from America, lamented having to share a room with an "unknown child actor." Qu Shiyun angrily retorted.

Cheng Ming intervened, suggesting Qu Shiyun could keep her bed area pink, but the rest of the room should be restored. Just then, another roommate, Fang Yali, arrived with her mother. Fang Yali's mother also disliked the pink decor and the dormitory's size, suggesting they find separate housing for Yali. Fang Yali, embarrassed, politely urged her mother to leave after she handed out gifts to the roommates. After her mother departed, Fang Yali apologized for her mother's behavior.

Cheng Ming then took the initiative to introduce herself, Amy, Qu Shiyun, and Fang Yali to each other, finally completing their dormitory group. Meanwhile, You Zhiqi arrived at the academy with numerous suitcases. He was frustrated to find the elevator undergoing maintenance, regretting not having an assistant with him. He had intentionally refused help from his assistant, Xiao Liu, and his manager, You You, determined to prove he could be self-reliant.

A flashback revealed You You's concerns about You Zhiqi's decision to attend Starry Arts Academy, fearing it would damage his career. Despite You You's warnings, You Zhiqi was resolved to prove that he didn't rely on others. He slowly began lugging his heavy luggage up the stairs, knowing he would miss the orientation.

His roommates, Zhang Yiyong and Ding Dongdong, meanwhile, were more preoccupied with meeting pretty girls, even using You Zhiqi's status as their famous roommate to garner attention during the pre-orientation buzz. To his dismay, You Zhiqi later discovered the "Elevator maintenance" sign had been left up by mistake, and the elevator was actually working. At the orientation ceremony, Wei Feng hosted the event, garnering admiration from many students, including Amy, who was instantly smitten.

Professor Li Shuangbai, the Music Department Chair, delivered a speech. He welcomed the new students, acknowledging their dreams, but also reminded them that while some would achieve great fame, many more would remain unknown. He emphasized that regardless of their path, their future was now in their own hands, and he encouraged them to live up to their youth and dreams with unwavering conviction.

During the ceremony, Zhang Yiyong and Ding Dongdong, You Zhiqi's roommates, proudly informed other students that You Zhiqi was indeed accepted and their roommate, even though he hadn't yet arrived. Later, Zhang Yiyong and Ding Dongdong returned to their dorm room to find it filled with an array of clothes, signaling You Zhiqi's arrival. You Zhiqi explained that as a celebrity, changing outfits daily was "imperative."

They presented him with a camouflage uniform, informing him it was required for military training. You Zhiqi initially refused, declaring it would "plummet his aura," but eventually relented and appeared in the uniform at the training ground. On the first day of military training, the head teacher, Dao Xiaoxian, introduced the staff, including Instructor Ge and assistant faculty Wei Feng, and designated Ding Dongdong as the official photographer. Dao Xiaoxian then called out You Zhiqi for missing orientation.

When he admitted to being late, she sternly stated that as a Starry Arts student, he would receive no special treatment and assigned him punishment: cleaning the storage room. You Zhiqi reluctantly accepted the task. Inside the storage room, finding it surprisingly clean, he decided to take a nap instead of cleaning. During military training exercises, Cheng Ming struggled with the running and fell behind the group.

The instructor, noticing her poor physique, sent her to the storage room to check on You Zhiqi's cleaning progress. Wei Feng observed this exchange with a slight frown. Cheng Ming arrived at the storage room and found You Zhiqi slacking off. As she approached, You Zhiqi woke up and immediately accused her of being a sasaeng fan who had chased him there. Cheng Ming repeatedly denied it, explaining that the instructor had sent her.

You Zhiqi remained unconvinced, calling her explanation a "perfect excuse." Frustrated, Cheng Ming lashed out, calling him "delusional," "narcissistic," and "a pervert" for his previous appearance in the women's restroom. You Zhiqi grew angry and advanced towards her. Cheng Ming stumbled backward, inadvertently grabbing his vest and tearing it. At that precise moment, Wei Feng entered the storage room, witnessing the chaotic scene and mistakenly assuming You Zhiqi was harassing Cheng Ming.

He immediately checked on Cheng Ming and helped her up. You Zhiqi struggled to explain the misunderstanding to Wei Feng, who, still holding the ripped fabric, escorted Cheng Ming out, promising to handle You Zhiqi. Later, You Zhiqi confronted Cheng Ming again, complaining about the difficulty of explaining the situation to Wei Feng. They bickered about whose fault it was, eventually agreeing to drop the matter.

You Zhiqi then tried to ask Cheng Ming about the audition song she sang, but their conversation was cut short by the call for military training assembly. Back in the dorm, Fang Yali was diligently practicing ballet stretches, revealing she had trained for ten years. Amy, seizing an opportunity during military training, faked an ankle sprain. Wei Feng, the assistant faculty, promptly helped her.

Amy used her "injury" as an excuse to ask for his WeChat, claiming she needed to report her condition and request leave. Wei Feng agreed, and as soon as she secured his contact, Amy's "sprain" miraculously vanished, and she rejoined the training. During a break, two male students from the composition department approached Cheng Ming, asking for her WeChat. She politely declined, but they persisted. Amy intervened, telling them to leave Cheng Ming alone.

You Zhiqi, observing the situation, approached the two students and feigned friendliness, taking a picture with them on his phone. He then posted the photo online with a caption that mocked them, leading to widespread ridicule from netizens. Angered and seeking revenge, the two composition students challenged You Zhiqi to a fight in the storage room. Cheng Ming overheard this news at lunch and, fearing for You Zhiqi's safety, immediately rushed to the storage room.

She found You Zhiqi alone, who nonchalantly told her the students hadn't shown up, confident they wouldn't dare mess with him. However, as they spoke, the two composition students locked them inside the storage room from the outside. Suddenly, the lights went out, plunging the room into darkness. You Zhiqi, who suffered from nyctophobia due to past trauma, immediately panicked. He clung tightly to Cheng Ming, his fear intensifying until he eventually fainted.

Cheng Ming, realizing his distress, desperately called for help. Just in time, Wei Feng arrived, opened the door, and carried the unconscious You Zhiqi out. As Wei Feng took You Zhiqi to the infirmary with Cheng Ming accompanying them, Qu Shiyun, observing the scene, instructed Ding Dongdong to capture the moment on his camera, envisioning a dramatic headline about You Zhiqi fainting and being rescued by the "most handsome guy at Starry Arts."

Episode 3 Recap

You Zhiqi woke up in the academy's medical clinic. Outside the room, Wei Feng and Cheng Ming discussed his presence in the warehouse. Both explained they had rushed there upon hearing rumors of a potential fight involving You Zhiqi and students from the songwriting department. Wei Feng, curious, asked Cheng Ming about the cause of You Zhiqi's collapse.

Cheng Ming began to recount arriving to find only You Zhiqi there, the door suddenly locking, and then You Zhiqi fainting, but You Zhiqi groaned loudly from his bed, feigning a headache to interrupt their conversation and prevent the true reason for his fainting from being revealed. Inside, Wei Feng pressed You Zhiqi for the reason he fainted. You Zhiqi claimed it was due to exhaustion from military training and upcoming announcements.

Cheng Ming responded with a skeptical, "Is that so?" Wei Feng suggested they leave now that You Zhiqi was awake, but You Zhiqi quickly pretended to feel dizzy, asking Cheng Ming to help him lie down and insisting he couldn't be left alone. When Wei Feng offered to stay and care for him, You Zhiqi rejected the offer, citing Wei Feng's responsibilities as an assistant instructor, and instead insisted Cheng Ming remain. Cheng Ming agreed to stay.

As Wei Feng departed, he cryptically warned Cheng Ming to be cautious in "dangerous places." Alone with Cheng Ming, You Zhiqi demanded to know what exactly happened after he fainted and why Wei Feng was there. Cheng Ming revealed that Wei Feng had rescued him and, finding You Zhiqi too heavy for her to carry, had lifted him in a "princess carry" to the clinic.

You Zhiqi was horrified by this detail, expressing disgust at being carried "like that" by Wei Feng, whom he disparagingly referred to as "Nasal Guy," and worried about the humiliation if the news spread. He then accused Cheng Ming of almost revealing his fear of the dark. Cheng Ming confirmed she now knew about his nyctophobia and speculated it was the cause of his fainting in the dark warehouse.

She also playfully noted that she now held two of his secrets. You Zhiqi sternly warned her not to tell anyone and made her swear an oath, invoking ancestors, Buddha, and God, to keep his secret. Meanwhile, Qu Shiyun persistently tried to obtain the video of You Zhiqi being carried, which she had captured using Ding Dongdong's camera. She attempted to bargain with Ding Dongdong, offering to give up her "center" position and forgo photoshopping the footage.

She explained her intention to upload the video online to create a "hot topic" to gain popularity, possibly by framing it as a case of school bullying or manhandling to appear as a "messenger of justice." Ding Dongdong, however, firmly refused, expressing concern for You Zhiqi's privacy and questioning if making the video public would genuinely benefit him or cause harm. He asserted his artistic principles, quoting his idol, Kurosawa Akira, about staying true to one's beliefs.

Back in the medical clinic, Cheng Ming mistakenly suggested that You Zhiqi's past intrusion into the women's bathroom was a result of stress from his nyctophobia. You Zhiqi refuted this, clarifying that he had enrolled in Starry Arts Academy to live as a normal student and prove himself, not to attract excessive attention or have his personal struggles magnified by the media.

He candidly discussed his ongoing battle to overcome nyctophobia, particularly how it affected his performances in dark stage plays, leading to past criticisms. He reiterated his desire to focus on his studies and improve his acting, earnestly requesting Cheng Ming to keep his disorder a strict secret to avoid further sensationalism in his acting career. During military training, Qu Shiyun attempted to report Cheng Ming's absence to the instructor.

Wei Feng intervened, informing the instructor that Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi had gone to the medical clinic, much to the instructor's displeasure for not being informed. When You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming arrived, Cheng Ming claimed she was unwell and You Zhiqi had escorted her. However, their stories conflicted when asked about their ailments—Cheng Ming claimed a stomach ache, while You Zhiqi said his leg—exposing their deception.

The instructor, convinced they were trying to skip training, initially sentenced both to five rounds of running. You Zhiqi stepped forward, arguing against making a "sick" girl run. The instructor then challenged him to run with her if he was fit. You Zhiqi accepted, effectively taking on not only his own punishment but also Cheng Ming's five rounds. Cheng Ming, instead, was ordered to stand at attention for an hour.

While watching You Zhiqi run, Cheng Ming saw him in a new, more admirable light. After training, Wei Feng offered Cheng Ming water, gently questioning her about the medical clinic visit, but Cheng Ming deflected, unwilling to reveal You Zhiqi's secret. You Zhiqi then snatched Wei Feng's water, claiming it was a small recompense for running Cheng Ming's additional rounds.

Qu Shiyun, realizing her initial efforts to get the video from Ding Dongdong were futile, decided to try a "soft method." She found him in tears, dramatically reciting sad poetry about lost love. He revealed that his girlfriend, Li Li, had broken up with him. Qu Shiyun, declaring herself "Clarence Qu, a love expert" with "108 ways to get back the heart of a lost lover," offered to help him reunite with Li Li in exchange for his camera.

Later, You Zhiqi abruptly grabbed Cheng Ming, intensifying his demand for her absolute secrecy. He sternly warned her that if she ever revealed his disorder, he would "die," but not before "dragging her down to hell." Cheng Ming, taken aback, promised to keep quiet and re-swore her oath. She then pointed out his irrationality, contrasting his current harsh demeanor with his earlier friendly interaction with Wei Feng. Qu Shiyun effortlessly located Li Li through her social media.

She observed Li Li in a coffee shop, delivering a saccharine "love confession" to a man, hinting at a relationship with a married man by referring to his wife. Qu Shiyun interrupted, introducing herself as Ding Dongdong's classmate, and systematically deconstructed Li Li's manipulative "art of faking." She exposed Li Li's seemingly romantic words as veiled demands for financial commitment and material gain, likening her to a "sea king" who plays with others' emotions.

Upon realizing Qu Shiyun was connected to Ding Dongdong, Li Li definitively ended things with him via text message. Devastated by Li Li's final rejection, Ding Dongdong confronted Qu Shiyun, accusing her of ruining his relationship and slandering Li Li. Qu Shiyun calmly corrected him, stating Li Li was now his "ex-girlfriend," and asserted that she had actually saved him from a manipulative individual.

She explained that by exposing Li Li's true character, she prevented him from further hurt, and therefore, he should thank her by giving her the camera. However, Ding Dongdong, still in denial, declared he would only give her the camera at his wedding with Li Li, leaving Qu Shiyun exasperated. Amy discovered that the video of Wei Feng carrying You Zhiqi had been uploaded online, causing a stir among students.

You You, You Zhiqi's manager, urgently visited him, explaining the severe implications of the viral video. She dismissed his defense of being a victim of school bullying, emphasizing that in the entertainment industry, truth is secondary to public perception. She warned that revealing the truth would damage his "top idol" image, leading to a loss of fans and permanently tarnishing his career aspirations to become a powerful actor.

You You instructed him to maintain a strong, impeccable public image, never showing weakness. She gravely advised him that a top idol like him cannot afford to have true friends, subtly suggesting that someone close to him might be behind the leak. You Zhiqi was left deeply saddened by this realization, contemplating the isolating nature of his celebrity life.

Episode 4 Recap

You Zhiqi, disheartened after his video was exposed, returned to Starry Arts Academy. He spotted Wei Feng and Cheng Ming leaving the warehouse and, fueled by suspicion, decided to follow them. Cheng Ming questioned Wei Feng's intense interest in the matter. Wei Feng explained that he, too, was in the video and had received unwanted attention due to You Zhiqi's fame, prompting him to uncover the truth.

He then pressed Cheng Ming about her relationship with You Zhiqi, which she vehemently denied. You Zhiqi then confronted them directly, accusing them of conspiring to harm him and capitalizing on his private life for online fame. Cheng Ming tried to explain that she had kept their secret about his condition and that she and Wei Feng were actively investigating the video's origin. You Zhiqi, however, was skeptical, interpreting her defense as a sign of complicity.

He accused them of orchestrating the exposure, even suggesting that the two composition students who locked the warehouse door were their accomplices. Wei Feng attempted to intervene, urging You Zhiqi to calm down and trying to lead Cheng Ming away, asserting Cheng Ming's innocence. However, You Zhiqi physically prevented Cheng Ming from leaving, demanding to check her phone, convinced the uploaded video would be on it.

Cheng Ming retorted that she was in the video herself, making it impossible for her to have filmed it, and called his demands childish. You Zhiqi, undeterred, insisted on checking, and Cheng Ming, though agreeing, warned him of the embarrassment he would face. Their heated exchange culminated with Cheng Ming labeling him childish and a weirdo. Just then, Professor Li Shuangbai called You Zhiqi to her office.

He brought Cheng Ming and Wei Feng with him, immediately accusing them to the professor of spreading the video for fame. Professor Li, however, dismissed his "random conjectures" and revealed she had already investigated. She showed surveillance footage from the warehouse entrance from the previous day, which clearly depicted Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun filming You Zhiqi inside. The footage also confirmed that two other students from the music composition department had tied the warehouse door.

Realizing his error, You Zhiqi was embarrassed. Professor Li advised him to remain calm and avoid making reckless accusations, urging him to communicate with the school administration for proper resolution, reminding him that despite his celebrity status, he was still her student. She informed them that the two composition students had already faced disciplinary action.

She then assigned You Zhiqi and Wei Feng the task of clarifying the situation with Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun, as both claimed they had not uploaded the video. You Zhiqi confronted Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun, but they both denied uploading the video, blaming each other. Wei Feng, observing their argument, questioned Ding Dongdong about his computer having a virus, noting that the video's IP address was off-campus. Ding Dongdong then revealed that Zhang Yiyong had used his computer.

When pressed, Zhang Yiyong admitted that while looking at photos on Ding Dongdong's computer, he accidentally clicked on a pop-up advertisement, which likely caused the video to be uploaded. Initially, no one confessed, prompting You Zhiqi to threaten calling the police. Zhang Yiyong, in a panic, knelt and begged You Zhiqi for forgiveness, reminding him of a past favor.

You Zhiqi, though initially sarcastic about their "teamwork," eventually agreed to forgive them, acknowledging that his company would likely handle the fallout. Wei Feng advised everyone to be more careful, emphasizing that as You Zhiqi's friends, they should protect him since he is a public figure. Ding Dongdong and Zhang Yiyong promised to protect You Zhiqi, and Qu Shiyun offered to clarify the rumor online. Cheng Ming remained distant, refusing to intercede on their behalf when asked by Qu Shiyun.

At the farewell party, You Zhiqi delivered a dazzling dance performance, earning enthusiastic cheers. At the end of his routine, he threw his shirt towards Cheng Ming. Still upset by his earlier accusations, Cheng Ming picked up the shirt, threw it to the ground, and walked away. You Zhiqi, noticing her anger, followed her. Cheng Ming confronted You Zhiqi, expressing her deep disappointment.

She reminded him that despite their agreement, she never divulged his secret, and she and Wei Feng were actively trying to find the truth about the video. She lamented that even after learning the truth, he never expressed any remorse or apology. Cheng Ming asserted that their lives, one as a top idol and the other as an ordinary person, were like parallel lines that would never intersect.

She criticized his inability to trust others and his failure to value the trust placed in him. After delivering her heartfelt words, Cheng Ming walked away, leaving You Zhiqi standing alone, deeply hurt and unable to sleep that night as her words echoed in his mind. The next day, in Professor Li Shuangbai's acting class, a visibly sleep-deprived You Zhiqi wore large sunglasses.

Professor Li called him out, reminding him that acting class is about keen observation and asked him to remove them. She emphasized the importance of observing people in everyday life to build characters. For a spontaneous exercise, she instructed students to pair up and portray two people who bump into each other on the street, making sure their partner could identify their character. Qu Shiyun and Amy, who usually bicker, were paired.

In their improvisation, Qu Shiyun played a police officer apprehending Amy, who was portraying a spy. Professor Li praised Qu Shiyun's reactions. After their performance, they discovered the key to the prop handcuffs was missing. The prop manager wasn't available, so they were forced to remain handcuffed together. Initially, both were exasperated, with Amy calling Qu Shiyun "crazy" and Qu Shiyun expressing distaste for being cuffed with Amy.

Professor Li saw this as an opportunity for them to understand each other, highlighting their contrasting personalities. Throughout the day, their forced proximity led to several comedic arguments, but ultimately began to soften their contentious relationship as they were seen bickering and then consoling each other. When You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming were paired, Cheng Ming blushed and appeared uncomfortable. Professor Li challenged them to portray long-lost lovers reuniting.

While You Zhiqi smoothly embraced the role, Cheng Ming struggled with the intimacy, pushing You Zhiqi away at one point and scattering the bouquet of flowers he held. Professor Li criticized Cheng Ming for not "letting go" and for being too self-conscious to fully inhabit her character. As a consequence, she assigned Cheng Ming the task of selling fifty roses on the street, while the other students were sent out to observe various professionals in the city.

On the street, Cheng Ming had difficulty selling the roses. You Zhiqi approached her and offered to buy all the remaining flowers. Cheng Ming, annoyed, told him to stop bothering her and to act like a celebrity. You Zhiqi then expressed his "uncontrollable kindness" and moved closer to her, sincerely apologizing for his earlier behavior. At this intimate moment, a paparazzi captured photos of them. You Zhiqi spotted the photographer and immediately exclaimed "Paparazzi!" before he and Cheng Ming sprinted off to chase after him to prevent the photos from being leaked, with Cheng Ming bumping into him and scattering her remaining flowers.

Episode 5 Recap

Ding Dongdong meticulously observed a homeless man eating by the street, claiming he was witnessing the purest essence of life. Zhang Yiyong, unimpressed, mocked him for taking so long. A street cleaner, seeing the two young men squatting, mistook them for beggars and advised them to at least dress professionally if they were panhandling. Just then, You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming ran past, frantically chasing a paparazzi. Zhang Yiyong and Ding Dongdong, witnessing the chase, joined in.

The paparazzi, trying to escape, accidentally collided with Amy and Qu Shiyun. The two had been out observing people, with Qu Shiyun complaining about the activity and stressing her need to livestream. The impact caused their prop handcuffs to break, and they fell to the ground. Wei Feng, who had just stepped out of his trendy toy store, saw the commotion and quickly ushered everyone inside, worried about the public scene.

Inside the store, You Zhiqi confiscated the paparazzi's memory card, warning him about invading celebrity privacy and to learn some manners in the future. Amy was immediately captivated by the store, exclaiming about how lovely it was and asking if she could look around. Qu Shiyun also asked if she could livestream there. Wei Feng readily agreed, confirming it was his shop. Wei Feng then offered to show Cheng Ming around the store.

Cheng Ming's eyes widened at the sight of a particular pink doll, and Wei Feng, noticing her interest, offered to give it to her. However, seeing the hefty price tag, Cheng Ming hesitated. You Zhiqi, overcome by jealousy, quickly intervened, telling Cheng Ming she couldn't like the doll because she was his fan and could only like his things. He then pulled her out of the store, claiming it was getting dark and he was afraid.

As they walked away from Wei Feng’s shop, Cheng Ming playfully used her phone light to tease You Zhiqi about his supposed fear of the dark. You Zhiqi, frustrated, told her she wasn't allowed to like Wei Feng or his doll, or anyone else for that matter, insisting she must only be his fan. Cheng Ming called him childish and told him to look after himself first.

You Zhiqi then sincerely apologized for wrongly accusing her and Wei Feng of leaking his video from the warehouse. Cheng Ming generously accepted his apology, considering their shared chase of the paparazzi an even exchange. You Zhiqi then offered her an autographed photo as a "fan perk," asking if she had sent out a demo, as he’d heard she was a good singer.

Embarrassed that he might know about her failed audition, Cheng Ming denied sending any demo and refused his photo. You Zhiqi continued to playfully insist she was his fan and should reclaim her "loyal fan status." Later, during a dance class, Cheng Ming struggled with her flexibility. Professor Dao made her do leg presses. Cheng Ming cried out in pain, while a classmate jokingly compared Professor Dao to an evil nanny from an ancient drama.

Ding Dongdong didn't escape either, with Professor Dao ordering Zhang Yiyong to press his legs. Meanwhile, You You visited You Zhiqi, reminding him of his celebrity status. You Zhiqi complained about having to work on the weekend, but You You firmly stated that while he was a student, he was also a top idol and needed to fulfill his professional obligations.

Undeterred by her struggle in class, Cheng Ming continued practicing dancing in her dorm, though her moves remained comically stiff. Amy, while heading out for a mysterious errand, accidentally dropped her ID card. Cheng Ming picked it up and realized it was Amy's birthday. She immediately discussed with Qu Shiyun to throw a surprise American-themed birthday party for Amy, deciding Wei Feng's store would be the perfect venue because Amy had expressed admiration for it.

Since Qu Shiyun had a livestream to do, Cheng Ming volunteered to approach Wei Feng. Separately, Zhang Yiyong, attracted to Fang Yali's beauty and temperament, secretly observed her practicing dance. He then noticed that after she ate, she would immediately vomit, making him suspect she might have a stomach ailment. Cheng Ming successfully convinced Wei Feng to host Amy's birthday party in his store. Wei Feng was enthusiastic, and they began making preparations together.

Meanwhile, Amy attempted to access the archive room at Starry Arts Academy but was informed that it was only open to specific staff members and professors. She then showed an old, torn photo with a bridge to a professor, hoping for information, but the professor couldn't identify the location. Soon after, Cheng Ming messaged Amy, asking her to come to Wei Feng's store later that night, implying it was to see a new collection of collaboration figurines.

Back in her dorm, Amy learned from Qu Shiyun that a big surprise party was planned for her. During a photoshoot, You Zhiqi found himself distracted, recalling his earlier conversation with Cheng Ming about Wei Feng and his jealousy. He saw a social media post from Cheng Ming, which seemingly showed her with Wei Feng. He immediately called Cheng Ming, who confirmed she was with Wei Feng at his store, setting up for Amy's birthday.

You Zhiqi, agitated, questioned why he hadn't been informed, then abruptly announced he was coming and rushed his photoshoot, much to the confusion of his assistant and the crew. While Cheng Ming and Wei Feng were out buying supplies for the party, Cheng Ming witnessed a woman haggling with and bullying an elderly flower seller over wilted flowers.

Driven by a sense of justice, Cheng Ming intervened, bought all the elderly woman’s flowers, and then, with Wei Feng’s help paying cash since the seller didn't have a QR code, urged the rude woman to find fresher flowers elsewhere. Back at Wei Feng’s store, Cheng Ming and Wei Feng were decorating. As Wei Feng, perched on a chair, almost lost his balance, Cheng Ming instinctively reached out to steady him.

Their hands clasped, and their eyes met in a moment of unexpected intimacy. Just then, You Zhiqi burst in. Seeing them in such close proximity, he rushed forward, pushed Cheng Ming out of the way, and ended up falling to the ground with Wei Feng. Zhang Yiyong and others soon arrived, and upon seeing You Zhiqi and Wei Feng in their awkward embrace, immediately began to playfully tease them about their passionate encounter and implied relationship.

Despite the humorous chaos, everyone was impressed by the party setup. Qu Shiyun then announced that Amy would arrive any minute and explained their small plan. As Amy approached the store, her friends, having arranged a musical performance outside, hid to surprise her with a "Happy Birthday" celebration.

Episode 6 Recap

Amy arrived at the designer toy store, surprised to find a birthday party set up for her. When Cheng Ming appeared with a birthday cake, singing "Happy Birthday," Amy was deeply moved, as it had been years since she experienced such a joyful surprise. She expressed her gratitude, saying she felt their love, especially from Cheng Ming and Wei Feng who had prepared it.

She asked Wei Feng if he gave her the roses, to which he clarified that Cheng Ming had gifted them, explaining Cheng Ming had bought them from an old granny on the street. You Zhiqi playfully interrupted, asking Cheng Ming when she would give him a special present, not like the flowers his fans send every day, but one directly from her.

Amy then wished for everyone to be as happy every day, and they all toasted to drinking to their heart's content. The group then joyfully danced and celebrated. Meanwhile, You You attempted to call You Zhiqi multiple times but received no answer. When Xiao Liu called her, You You confirmed that You Zhiqi was likely engrossed in the fun and hadn't heard his phone.

Xiao Liu offered to go to the designer toy store to retrieve him, but You You declined, remarking that it was the first time in years she had seen You Zhiqi gather with friends, so she wanted him to enjoy himself. After ending the call with Xiao Liu, she sent You Zhiqi a text message, sternly reminding him to avoid trouble and paparazzi, and to remember his status as a top idol.

As the celebration moved indoors, Fang Yali pulled Zhang Yiyong aside. She confronted him, asking his intentions, specifically if he had been secretly photographing her, referencing a time he saw her eating in the dancing studio. Zhang Yiyong adamantly denied taking photos but admitted to seeing her. Fang Yali dismissively stated that even if he had, it would be useless as she was a "nobody" and wouldn't generate traffic.

Zhang Yiyong apologized for the misunderstanding and assured her he had no ill intentions. He then cautiously asked why she ate food only to throw it up later. Fang Yali explained it was solely for weight loss, as she loved those foods but didn't dare to keep them due to her figure.

Relieved, Zhang Yiyong confessed he had worried about her stomach and had even bought her some medicine, which he now presented to her, telling her to take care of herself. Feeling awkward, he excused himself by claiming he had drunk too much and quickly left, leaving Fang Yali smiling with the gift. Cheng Ming, feeling quite tipsy, praised Amy's dancing skills and insisted on drinking more despite Amy's playful protests.

Meanwhile, You Zhiqi confronted Wei Feng, directly asking if he was there because of Cheng Ming. Wei Feng confirmed he admired Cheng Ming's dedication and pursuit of her dreams. You Zhiqi then boldly declared that while Wei Feng could admire Cheng Ming, he was only allowed to "look" because "she's mine." As Cheng Ming approached, You Zhiqi, seizing the opportunity, quickly steered her away from Wei Feng. Separately, Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun discussed his past relationship with Li Li.

Ding Dongdong declared he was officially giving up on Li Li, ending the romance to focus on business. He thanked Qu Shiyun for helping him overcome his heartbreak, describing it as being "pulled out from hell." Qu Shiyun passionately argued that Li Li, being a mistress and entangled with a married man, did not deserve him.

Ding Dongdong confessed that while he knew about Li Li's true nature, he struggled to let go because she was his first love, emphasizing the significance of first loves for men. Qu Shiyun acknowledged his feelings but reassured him that the past was behind them and he would undoubtedly meet someone much better and more deserving. Ding Dongdong, feeling regretful, stated he was angry at himself, not her, as they both became increasingly tipsy from drinking.

As the party concluded, Zhang Yiyong and Fang Yali departed first. Wei Feng suggested he and Amy call a car for everyone to return to campus together. However, You Zhiqi interjected, insisting he would take Cheng Ming home and handle her hangover. Amy, enthusiastic about walking with Wei Feng, agreed to the new plan, wanting to stroll with him for a bit. Wei Feng expressed concern about paparazzi, but Amy dismissed his worries.

Before leaving, Wei Feng sternly reminded You Zhiqi to ensure Cheng Ming's safe return to school. Seeing Cheng Ming heavily intoxicated, You Zhiqi decided against taking a car, fearing she might vomit. He opted to carry her instead. Cheng Ming, despite her inebriation, tried to insist on being put down, acknowledging her weight. You Zhiqi playfully exaggerated her heavy eating at the party. Internally, Cheng Ming wondered if her racing heart and flushed face were simply due to alcohol.

She tried to walk on her own but immediately stumbled, prompting You Zhiqi to steady her, their close proximity stirring his emotions. Unbeknownst to them, a paparazzi hidden nearby captured their intimate moments on camera, delighted with the exclusive footage. Just then, You Zhiqi received a phone call from Zhang Yiyong, who delivered bad news: the dorm manager was conducting room inspections, and anyone absent or staying out overnight would be punished.

Zhang Yiyong added that it was too late for them to return as the main gate was already closed, leaving them to figure out their predicament independently. With nowhere else to go, You Zhiqi took Cheng Ming back to his own apartment. Back at the male dorm, Zhang Yiyong and Ding Dongdong frantically tried to cover for You Zhiqi's absence during the dorm manager's inspection.

Ding Dongdong, following Zhang Yiyong's suggestion, entered the bathroom, making showering noises and attempting to pretend that both he and You Zhiqi were present. Changing his voice, Ding Dongdong claimed You Zhiqi had a stomach ache and was also showering. Despite their efforts, the astute dorm manager, who claimed to have been a gym teacher, was not fooled. He pretended to leave but quickly returned, revealing that he knew You Zhiqi wasn't there.

Meanwhile, at the female dorm, Amy and Fang Yali faced a similar dilemma regarding Cheng Ming's absence. Realizing that simply hiding a pillow under the blanket wouldn't work, they devised a plan. When the dorm manager arrived, they brought a neighbor from next door to pretend to be Cheng Ming, having her lie in bed with a face mask on to disguise her. They tried to distract the manager with talk of their hard work and dedication.

The manager initially seemed to accept the "skinnier" Cheng Ming, but upon a closer look or a suspicious return, she quickly realized the deception, exclaiming that the person wasn't Cheng Ming and had "become skinny till her face changed." Both groups of friends failed to successfully cover for their absent roommates. You Zhiqi finally managed to bring Cheng Ming to his apartment. She was still heavily intoxicated, complaining of pain and demanding water.

Despite his best efforts to steer her towards the bathroom, she ended up vomiting all over his bed, leaving him to quietly clean up the mess. The next morning, Cheng Ming awoke with a start, confused by the unfamiliar room and the unfamiliar pajamas she was wearing. She screamed, demanding to know where she was and why You Zhiqi was there. You Zhiqi urged her to recall the events of the previous night and to feel embarrassed.

Cheng Ming realized she had been drunk and accused him of changing her clothes without permission. You Zhiqi retorted that he had no choice given the mess she made, detailing the effort it took to clean her vomit and wash her clothes, which were now drying outside. As Cheng Ming continued to confront and even hit him, a persistent knocking on the door interrupted them. You Zhiqi, looking alarmed, identified the knocker as his manager, You You, who was demanding entry, stating she knew he was inside.

Episode 7 Recap

Cheng Ming woke up in You Zhiqi's apartment, disoriented and wearing his pajamas. You Zhiqi explained she had been heavily intoxicated the night before and vomited on herself, necessitating a change of clothes. Cheng Ming was mortified, but You Zhiqi defended his actions, mentioning the effort he took to clean up the mess. You You, You Zhiqi's manager, arrived, suspicious of his activities, and used her key to enter. You Zhiqi quickly hid Cheng Ming to avoid a compromising situation.

You You searched the apartment while Cheng Ming tried to stay hidden. You You showed You Zhiqi a photo that was trending online, an intimate shot of him with a blurry, unrecognizable woman. You Zhiqi criticized the photo quality but admitted it was him. He denied knowing the woman's identity, but Cheng Ming's phone rang, revealing her hiding spot in the bathroom.

You You scolded You Zhiqi for his lack of awareness as an idol and the potential damage to Cheng Ming's reputation. Cheng Ming apologized, saying she had too much to drink, but You Zhiqi took the blame, stating it was his fault and instructing You You to handle the PR crisis. He decided to take Cheng Ming back to school, disregarding You You's protests.

As they left the building, they encountered a crowd of reporters who questioned You Zhiqi about his relationship with Cheng Ming. You Zhiqi shielded Cheng Ming and guided her to the car, telling the reporters that Cheng Ming was just a schoolmate and they were at a student gathering, urging them to stop spreading rumors and leave her alone. Upon arriving at Starry Arts Academy, they found the entrance swarming with journalists, trapping them in the car.

Cheng Ming worried about missing class. Wei Feng called and invited them to his shop to discuss managing the situation. You You decided to release several explosive news stories to divert attention from You Zhiqi's scandal, including his past heroic acts and a scandal involving a film executive. News of the scandal reached Cheng Ming's parents. Her mother, who disapproved of Cheng Ming attending Starry Arts Academy, saw it as a chance to make her change schools.

A meeting was held at the academy with You Zhiqi, Cheng Ming, You You, Cheng Ming's mother, and Professor Li Shuangbai. Professor Li explained the damage to the school's reputation and announced potential disciplinary action, including expulsion, for violating rules about overnight stays outside the dorms. Cheng Ming's mother demanded the school clear her daughter's name before she would withdraw her from the academy. You You criticized the school's inability to protect students from the media.

You Zhiqi took full responsibility for the incident and offered to withdraw from the school if it meant Cheng Ming could stay. Cheng Ming was touched by his self-sacrifice, but admitted her own fault. Professor Li promised to reconsider Cheng Ming's punishment. After You Zhiqi left, Cheng Ming was consumed by guilt. She tried to call him, but You You's assistant stopped the call. Cheng Ming's classmates discussed how to help You Zhiqi.

Amy explained the situation stemmed from drinking and media exaggeration, leading to disciplinary action. Later, Wei Feng pleaded with Professor Li Shuangbai to reconsider You Zhiqi's expulsion, emphasizing his talent and proposing he participate in the academy's charity event at the Sun Island Welfare Institute to repair the school's reputation. Professor Li found the idea promising. Wei Feng shared his plan with Cheng Ming, who rallied her classmates for the charity event. They gathered supplies for the children. Arriving at the Sun Island Welfare Institute, they didn't find You Zhiqi. They heard a piano melody and found You Zhiqi playing for the children. Cheng Ming was deeply moved.

Episode 8 Recap

Fang Yali was summoned by her mother, who had traveled a long distance to see her. Besides missing her daughter, her mother was excited to share good news: she had pulled strings to secure Fang Yali a comfortable and reputable job at a theater troupe after graduation. However, Fang Yali was far from pleased, expressing her desire to choose her own path rather than follow the one laid out by her parents.

Her mother, calling her "Li Li," insisted they were acting for her own good, wanting her to walk an easier road and be the best in ballet. Fang Yali, however, declared she could endure tougher roads and had grown up enough to manage her own life. As Fang Yali urgently needed to go to the welfare institute, her mother pressed her to stay and go shopping and to a spa.

Just then, Zhang Yiyong arrived, having received a text from Fang Yali asking him for help. He quickly intervened, fabricating a story about a casting call for the musical "Cat" at their school, claiming the professor specifically needed Fang Yali to audition. Fang Yali's mother, thrilled by the prospect, suggested accompanying them, but Fang Yali quickly deflected, explaining the school didn't permit outsiders. With her mother's blessing, Fang Yali was then able to leave with Zhang Yiyong.

On their way to the welfare institute, Fang Yali thanked Zhang Yiyong, admitting this was her first time doing something without her mother's knowledge, and shared her frustration about being micromanaged. Zhang Yiyong, while acknowledging her mother's good intentions, empathized, explaining that parents often project their wishes onto their children, but ultimately, they must choose their own paths. Fang Yali found his words insightful.

At the Sun Island Welfare Institute, You Zhiqi was already playing the piano for a young boy named Dong Xiaobao, who had skipped his afternoon nap. The teacher spoke loudly to Dong Xiaobao when finding him, which made the others wonder why she was so stern. When Cheng Ming and other classmates arrived, You Zhiqi downplayed his playing, claiming he was simply bored.

The teacher clarified that Dong Xiaobao often yelled and spoke loudly, and she would bring the other children out soon after their rest. After naptime, all the children joined the students. The students happily played with the children, feeling as if they had returned to their own childhoods. Qu Shiyun was showered with compliments from the children, who called her a "Princess Sister" and admired her dress and hair clip.

She graciously shared her hair clips with them, radiating kindness, a moment Ding Dongdong diligently captured with his camera. Later, You Zhiqi took Dong Xiaobao to the piano room, where he played a newly composed song for "someone" he liked. Cheng Ming realized the song was implicitly for her, but she also noticed Dong Xiaobao's unusual reaction, as if he couldn't hear the music.

The teacher clarified that Dong Xiaobao had been diagnosed with severe hearing loss shortly after arriving at the institute last year; his hearing was over 90 decibels, and even hearing aids would be ineffective. While a cochlear implant could help, the optimal age for the procedure had passed, and the institute lacked the financial resources. Despite his condition, Dong Xiaobao deeply loved music and dreamt of singing, living in a world of almost no sound.

Meanwhile, Amy shared a moment with Wei Feng. Witnessing the orphaned children made her feel sad, stirring memories of her own past. Wei Feng confessed that his parents were often absent during his childhood, and he was primarily accompanied by dolls, which explained his decision to open a trendy toy store. Amy then revealed a deeply personal struggle: she had never met her father and had returned to China with the express purpose of finding him.

She showed Wei Feng a half-torn photo of her parents, and Wei Feng, noticing the familiar background, promised to think hard about the location and inform her if he remembered. Moved by Dong Xiaobao's plight, You Zhiqi immediately decided to fund his cochlear implant.

Cheng Ming further proposed that they establish a system of regular donations and support for all the children at the welfare institute, aiming to provide them with the same opportunities and quality of life as other children. The classmates enthusiastically supported this initiative, recognizing its significant impact and feeling their souls cleansed by the meaningful activity. Dong Xiaobao, in return, gave You Zhiqi a drawing of "a family of three," a touching gesture of gratitude.

As they left the welfare institute, You Zhiqi suggested that everyone else take the available shared bicycles, while he opted to walk back with Cheng Ming. He expressed his gratitude to Cheng Ming for her assistance and contributions to the charity event. Cheng Ming reminded him that Wei Feng had also played a crucial role, and You Zhiqi silently acknowledged his appreciation.

Cheng Ming commented on the bustling street near You Zhiqi's home, thinking he was lucky, until she remembered his celebrity status. She then directly asked if they were friends, to which You Zhiqi, after a pause, playfully replied that she was also his "fan." He then insisted she come to his place to cook for him, claiming he hadn't eaten.

Cheng Ming initially resisted, joking about his past "pervert behavior," but You Zhiqi assured her that his aunt had changed his clothes last time. He then convinced her that his aunt had texted him, saying she was out, leaving him with no one else to cook.

At his apartment, as Cheng Ming prepared instant noodles, You Zhiqi spoke of his childhood, including an incident where he, a rich kid, was once kidnapped and "locked inside a dark room by a bad person." Cheng Ming, upon finding the noodles in a cupboard, discovered they were expired, leading to You Zhiqi's comedic reaction. Back at school, You You learned that You Zhiqi's suspension had been lifted, allowing him to return, much to her initial displeasure.

She went to the school intending to pressure them to expel You Zhiqi. However, while outside Li Shuangbai's office, she overheard a welfare institute teacher praising You Zhiqi for his charity work and his humble, shining example. Hearing this, You You changed her mind and quietly left, feeling that such an environment might be more beneficial for You Zhiqi's growth. Meanwhile, Cheng Ming, needing an accompanist for her vocal practice, consulted Qu Shiyun.

Qu Shiyun, while only knowing basic piano, suggested asking Amy to persuade Wei Feng to accompany Cheng Ming, confident he would be willing. Cheng Ming proceeded to the piano room, where she unexpectedly found You Zhiqi already playing, a moment that visibly captivated her, filling her eyes with "little stars." Separately, Qu Shiyun, inspired by an internet celebrity, decided to get professional photos taken.

To her surprise, the photographer she booked online, under the pseudonym "Kurosawa Akira," turned out to be Ding Dongdong, who used the online name "Qian Songyi." They exchanged playful banter about their online personas and Ding Dongdong's high fees. Despite his skepticism about the outdoor lighting and wind, and a jab at her "skill," Qu Shiyun, drawn by his low price, agreed to try, warning him she wouldn't pay a penny if unsatisfied. She then proposed moving their photoshoot to the piano room, asserting its grand piano would complement her "noble aura."

Episode 9 Recap

Cheng Ming arrived at the piano room and found You Zhiqi playing alone. You Zhiqi assumed she was there to see him, but his mood soured when she mentioned Wei Feng was coming to accompany her. Cheng Ming quickly suggested You Zhiqi accompany her instead. You Zhiqi pretended to only help his fans. Just then, Wei Feng entered, expressing his happiness at You Zhiqi's return to school. Cheng Ming thanked Wei Feng for helping You Zhiqi get his punishment canceled.

Wei Feng clarified that it was Professor Li Shuangbai's effort, combined with the positive social impact of their charity event, that led the academy to cancel the punishment. Seeing Cheng Ming affectionately hold Wei Feng's arm, You Zhiqi jealously slammed the piano lid, accidentally catching his own hand. Cheng Ming rushed to check on him, and You Zhiqi exaggerated his injury, demanding she take him to the infirmary.

Wei Feng also offered to go, but Amy subtly stopped him, claiming that she and Wei Feng had important matters to discuss, giving Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi a chance to go alone. Zhang Yiyong visited Fang Yali at the dance studio and took her to the rooftop. He presented her with a bag full of snacks. Fang Yali hesitated, fearing she would become a "fat swan."

Zhang Yiyong patiently reassured her, explaining that all the snacks were high in protein and low in calories, so they wouldn't make her gain weight. He promised that if she did gain weight, he would help her train to lose it together. Feeling comforted, Fang Yali began to eat. Amy, after listening to Wei Feng play piano for a while, brought up the urgent matter she wanted to discuss.

She asked Wei Feng if there were any professors who had taught at the academy for over thirty years. Wei Feng replied that only Professor Li Shuangbai fit that description. Amy then showed him a torn photograph again. Wei Feng confirmed he remembered the place: Baishi Bridge in Green Lake Park, where he often went as a child due to his parents' absence. Amy eagerly pulled Wei Feng along to go see it.

Wei Feng shared that he stopped going when he noticed other children always had their parents with them, making him feel alone. Amy empathized, suggesting they were "fellow sufferers" and offered to accompany him to the park anytime he wished. Wei Feng thanked her, noting that he had found some new clues. At the infirmary, the doctor confirmed You Zhiqi's hand injury was minor.

As Cheng Ming prepared to leave to practice singing, You Zhiqi feigned pain and worsening symptoms to keep her by his side. Cheng Ming, realizing he was pretending, tried to leave, but You Zhiqi pulled her back, leading to an ambiguous moment between them. Cheng Ming realized all the piano rooms were booked for practice. You Zhiqi stated he knew a better place and took her to his company's professional recording studio.

There, they were confronted by You You, who was irritated to see You Zhiqi with Cheng Ming again, fearing more rumors. You You proposed signing Cheng Ming to their company, suggesting they could use the existing rumors as publicity, portraying them as senior and junior artists. You Zhiqi immediately rejected the idea, claiming Cheng Ming's singing was terrible and she wasn't pretty, insulting Cheng Ming to deter You You.

You You then reminded You Zhiqi about filming a commercial for Director Jin that evening. You Zhiqi was reluctant, citing the director's difficult temper and the fact that he was replacing an actor already cast. You You leveraged access to the recording studio, forcing You Zhiqi to accept the commercial. On the set, You Zhiqi told Cheng Ming to maintain a "social distance" of 1.

2 meters from him, saying he would protect her within his "perimeter" because she looked "easy to bully," which touched Cheng Ming. You Zhiqi then sent Cheng Ming to ask the director's assistant about the wrap-up time. The assistant, clearly annoyed by You Zhiqi replacing the director's preferred actor, rudely dismissed Cheng Ming. You Zhiqi intervened, confronting the assistant and demanding an apology. He even stood up to the director, causing a scene.

The director, frustrated, took his anger out on You You, who apologized repeatedly. During filming, the director's assistant secretly added a substance to You Zhiqi's energy drink. You Zhiqi soon experienced severe stomach pain, forcing him to stop filming. The director blamed You Zhiqi for the delay. Observing the situation, Cheng Ming recalled You Zhiqi defending her earlier.

She approached You You with the spiked drink, explaining You Zhiqi's pain began after consuming it and suggesting it be sent for examination. The assistant panicked and tried to interject, while the director's demeanor shifted. You You seized the opportunity, asserting her position and threatening legal action, demanding compensation for You Zhiqi's health, pain and suffering, and work delays.

A doctor later confirmed that You Zhiqi's condition was not serious; the added substance was merely a laxative, and he would recover quickly. You You contacted her lawyer, intending to sue the advertising studio for damages and to secure extended access to the recording studio for You Zhiqi as compensation. Despite his recent ordeal, You Zhiqi, even though it was late, took Cheng Ming to the recording studio.

He asked her to sing the song she performed for her Starry Arts audition. As Cheng Ming poured her heart into the song, You Zhiqi was deeply moved. He recalled their shared experiences and realized he had fallen deeply in love with her. Once Cheng Ming finished singing, an emotional You Zhiqi entered the recording booth and passionately kissed her. Cheng Ming was initially startled but then shyly returned his kiss.

Episode 10 Recap

Cheng Ming sits in her dormitory, her face flushing as she relives the memory of You Zhiqi's kiss. Her roommate, Amy, notices her blushing and teases her about yearning for love. Cheng Ming quickly denies it, but her insistence that "no one kissed me" only makes her other roommates realize that someone indeed did, and they all excitedly suspect You Zhiqi. Mortified, Cheng Ming quickly changes the subject to Wei Feng's upcoming debate competition.

Amy immediately confirms she'll be there to support him. Qu Shiyun announces her plans to see a movie, describing it as a "high-level artistic cultivation" for "soul cleansing and personality reshaping." Fang Yali, needing to practice her dance routine, won't be joining, leaving just Cheng Ming and Amy to attend the debate.

Meanwhile, You Zhiqi returns to the academy, accompanied by Xiao Liu, who insists on carrying You Zhiqi's single suitcase, jokingly reminding him of the eight bags he once carried alone. Xiao Liu expresses concern over You Zhiqi's reduced work activities since starting school, warning him about the constant influx of new idols and the need to maintain his career for his fans. You Zhiqi confidently brushes off the worries, asserting his name is You Zhiqi.

His attention is then caught by Cheng Ming, who is carrying a bouquet of flowers. He swiftly hands his luggage back to Xiao Liu and follows her. Catching up with Cheng Ming, You Zhiqi questions her about the flowers, his jealousy rising. Amy then appears, revealing the bouquet is her gift for Wei Feng. Relieved, You Zhiqi hands the flowers to Amy and joins them, curious about the debate.

Amy explains that the topic is "Should there be a gentlemen's agreement in love?" You Zhiqi dismisses it as a "nonsensical topic," prompting Amy to retort that a "superstar idol" like him wouldn't understand love. You Zhiqi challenges Cheng Ming to weigh in, but she shyly claims ignorance. Amy then playfully exposes Cheng Ming's earlier blushing in the dormitory, much to You Zhiqi's delight.

During the debate, the pro-side argues that love requires mutual consent and respect for privacy, even for a kiss, which Cheng Ming finds reasonable and urges You Zhiqi to heed. Wei Feng, arguing for the anti-side, maintains that love should be spontaneous and driven by emotion, not bound by formal agreements. You Zhiqi strongly supports Wei Feng's stance, criticizing the idea of needing permission for acts of affection in a natural relationship.

He rhetorically asks if one should wait to ask for a kiss when the other has already closed their eyes, calling it "silly." Cheng Ming, despite supporting Wei Feng, finds the pro-side's arguments compelling and continues to disagree with You Zhiqi's views, leading to playful exchanges between them throughout the debate. Separately, Ding Dongdong finds himself annoyed at a movie theater by the person behind him repeatedly kicking his seat. He subtly tries to obstruct their view in retaliation.

After the film, the lights reveal that the person behind him was Qu Shiyun, and they immediately begin to bicker. A cinema announcement then invites couples to a competition for prizes: a high-power camera, premium skincare, or customized couple outfits. Ding Dongdong, wanting the camera, and Qu Shiyun, desiring the skincare, agree to pretend to be a couple for the Pocky game.

However, their lack of genuine closeness prevents them from winning the top prizes, and they ultimately receive the third prize: matching couple outfits, which they find awkward and ironic. Their bickering quickly resumes, with Ding Dongdong calling Qu Shiyun a "hyperactive female ape," fueling their comedic animosity. After the debate, Wei Feng, having been named Best Debater, treats Amy, Cheng Ming, and You Zhiqi to dinner.

During the meal, You Zhiqi attentively places food on Cheng Ming's plate, and their tender interactions are evident to everyone. Amy probes Cheng Ming about her relationship with You Zhiqi, but Cheng Ming staunchly denies anything is happening. You Zhiqi attempts to speak up, but Cheng Ming quickly silences him by stuffing food into his mouth, claiming he has a sore throat. Amy teases You Zhiqi for being so controlled by Cheng Ming, noting their obvious affection.

Later, outside the restaurant, Amy confides in Wei Feng, observing Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi's burgeoning romance. She then bravely confesses her feelings to Wei Feng, telling him that when she likes someone, "even the air becomes sweet," and she desires to bring excitement and change into his life. Wei Feng remains silent, but his expression shows he is deeply moved by her heartfelt words.

As You Zhiqi walks Cheng Ming home, he begins to sing the song Cheng Ming performed during her academy audition. He then earnestly confesses his feelings, revealing that his seemingly perfect persona hides a painful past. He shares that as a child, he was kidnapped and held in a dark room, and it was that very song that gave him strength.

He explains that he first heard the song demo at the company, recognized it during her audition, and confirmed it was her when she sang in the recording studio. Despite their initial clashes over the song, he realized through their interactions that he had fallen for her and wants them to be together. He urges Cheng Ming to disregard any perceived differences between them and sincerely answer if she likes him. Cheng Ming struggles to find the right words.

Her response is interrupted by a phone call from You You to Cheng Ming's phone, which You Zhiqi answers. You You confronts You Zhiqi, demanding to know why he withheld the information that Cheng Ming is the "heavenly voice girl" she has been searching for, emphasizing how his secrecy nearly cost her job and caused significant losses for the company. You Zhiqi warns You You not to interfere with Cheng Ming.

He then ends the call, tells Cheng Ming he has an urgent matter to attend to, and asks her to return to school while he goes to the company to confront You You. At the company, You You reveals Director Chen's plan to sign Cheng Ming and use her relationship with You Zhiqi to generate publicity.

You Zhiqi vehemently refuses, explaining that Cheng Ming dreams of being a musical theater performer, not an idol who generates buzz, and that her genuine aspirations should not be exploited. He accuses You You of being a "capitalist" for trying to manipulate others' dreams. Enraged, You You retaliates by reminding You Zhiqi that she was the one who rescued him from the charity home, implying he would still be suffering without her.

Stung by her words, You Zhiqi storms out of the office. As he walks down the street, an old illness flares up, causing him to become dizzy. He collapses to the ground, managing to utter a faint "Help me" into his phone before it slips from his hand, leaving You You's increasingly anxious voice calling his name from the device.

Episode 11 Recap

You Zhiqi awoke in his psychiatrist's home, disoriented and wondering how he got there. The psychiatrist informed him that he had called during a blackout and fainted mid-call, but fortunately, his phone's location tracking allowed him to be found and prevented another public incident. The psychiatrist, noticing You Zhiqi's poor condition, directly asked if he had increased his medication dosage without permission.

You Zhiqi confessed that he had, admitting he felt he had no choice because he simply couldn't fall asleep. The doctor sternly warned You Zhiqi about the severity of his condition, emphasizing that his health was paramount. He revealed that he was invited to a prestigious academic conference on PTSD in Japan, where world-renowned experts would gather. He proposed that You Zhiqi take a leave from school and accompany him for intensive treatment, assuring him of complete confidentiality.

The treatment, however, would require at least a year. You Zhiqi hesitated, expressing his desire to complete the upcoming final drama, believing he owed it to himself and Cheng Ming. The doctor, in turn, urged him to consider the gravity of his illness, stating that his current state made it unsuitable for him to be with anyone and that delaying treatment would only cause more pain for both him and Cheng Ming.

He advised You Zhiqi to carefully weigh his options and provide an answer soon. In class, the teacher praised Cheng Ming's diligent efforts, noting her consistent morning exercises despite her average foundation. He then publicly criticized You Zhiqi for his repeated absences, warning that continued truancy would result in a failing grade for the semester. Concerned, Cheng Ming tried to call You Zhiqi after class but couldn't reach him.

Her friend Amy then suggested they all go to Wei Feng's shop for a study session, implying it would be helpful for their upcoming final exams. At Wei Feng's shop, Wei Feng expressed concern about You Zhiqi's unreachability, though he was somewhat relieved to hear that You Zhiqi had returned to his agency. Suddenly, Cheng Ming received a call from You You, You Zhiqi's agent. Rushing to meet her, Cheng Ming immediately asked about You Zhiqi's well-being.

You You, however, steered the conversation to Cheng Ming, asking if she had previously submitted a songs demo to their company. Cheng Ming confirmed she had. You You then enthusiastically offered Cheng Ming an artist contract, praising her singing talent and declaring her a future star. You You explained the company's plan to pair Cheng Ming with You Zhiqi as the "hottest partners and CP" to create buzz and attend events together.

To show her sincerity, You You even had a contract ready, mentioning that famous musicians were already composing songs for Cheng Ming. Overwhelmed by the sudden opportunity, Cheng Ming was on the verge of signing. Just then, You Zhiqi arrived and abruptly stopped Cheng Ming, pulling her away. He defiantly told You You that Cheng Ming would not sign the contract as long as he was around.

Furious, You You watched them leave, muttering that no artist was beyond her reach. As You Zhiqi walked away with Cheng Ming, she angrily demanded to know why he was interfering. You Zhiqi questioned why she had met with You You and why she would consider signing with his agency. He explained that signing a contract now would mean losing her freedom and facing immense difficulties as an artist.

Cheng Ming, feeling insulted, accused him of thinking she wasn't capable or strong enough to pursue her dreams. She declared that singing was her dream and she would not give up, then stormed off. Later that night, Cheng Ming lay in bed, recalling You Zhiqi's words and his confession, conflicted about his motives for stopping her. Meanwhile, You Zhiqi received another call from his psychiatrist, pressing him for a decision about Japan.

You Zhiqi requested more time, still undecided and worried about Cheng Ming's situation if he left. Professor Li Shuangbai announced the final exam would be a musical performance, a prestigious event that would be open to other faculty, school leaders, and alumni. He called for volunteers for the male and female lead roles. Qu Shiyun was the first to volunteer for the female lead. Feeling a strong desire to prove herself, Cheng Ming also stepped forward.

For the male lead, You Zhiqi volunteered, and immediately, other male students withdrew, acknowledging that competing against him would be futile. Professor Li then assigned You Zhiqi the male lead and stated that Cheng Ming and Qu Shiyun would audition with a scene in the next class to determine the female lead. Qu Shiyun, curious about Cheng Ming's sudden ambition, asked her why she wanted the role. Cheng Ming simply replied that she wanted to prove herself to everyone.

Cheng Ming practiced her lines alone when You Zhiqi entered the room. He joined her in practice and then sincerely apologized for his previous behavior and explained his true reasons for opposing her signing with You You's company. He reiterated that his agency's interest was solely in creating short-term hype by binding them as a "CP," not in fostering her long-term musical dreams.

He stressed that You You could not offer her what she truly desired, and once on that path, it would be difficult to turn back. You Zhiqi urged her not to rely on his fame for popularity but to achieve her own success based on her talent. Understanding his genuine concern and intentions, Cheng Ming apologized for misunderstanding him and promised not to sign with the company. Later, Cheng Ming met with You You again to formally decline the offer.

She explained her decision to focus on her studies and build a solid foundation to become a musician, stating she would not sign with any agency while in school. She also expressed her understanding of You Zhiqi's situation, asking You You to give him space to experience a normal college life. You You dismissed Cheng Ming's reasoning, highlighting You Zhiqi's immense popularity and commercial value in the industry.

She then launched into a tirade, questioning Cheng Ming's stage experience, confidence, and ability to succeed without a top-tier agent like herself, implying that Cheng Ming was simply not good enough. Despite the hurtful words, Cheng Ming firmly stated that she would not sign the contract. Feeling disheartened and doubting her abilities after You You's harsh criticisms, Cheng Ming was later found by Wei Feng on the sports field.

He noticed her distraction and, upon learning about her encounter with You You, encouraged her to have confidence in herself. Wei Feng pointed out that if Cheng Ming truly lacked talent, You You would not have bothered trying to sign her. His words helped Cheng Ming regain her resolve and renewed her determination to perform well in the upcoming musical. After Cheng Ming firmly declined her offer, You You, determined to undermine Cheng Ming, contacted Qu Shiyun.

Qu Shiyun, flattered to be approached by an "ace agent," eagerly asked if You You intended to sign her. You You responded that it wasn't impossible, but first, she needed Qu Shiyun to prove her potential. You You specifically challenged Qu Shiyun to secure the female lead role in the upcoming class musical, implying that success in this would lead to future cooperation.

Driven by a desire for fame and recognition, Qu Shiyun readily agreed, vowing to win the female lead role. During the final audition for the female lead, both Cheng Ming and Qu Shiyun performed alongside You Zhiqi. Qu Shiyun's performance was perceived as overly dramatic, while Cheng Ming delivered a very moving and natural portrayal, earning significant applause. Professor Li, after reviewing the performances, announced Cheng Ming as the female lead and Qu Shiyun as the second female lead. He congratulated Cheng Ming, encouraging her to work hard for this important first public performance, and reminded Qu Shiyun to also do her best.

Episode 12 Recap

Amy visited Professor Li Shuangbai in his office, seeking help to identify her father from a torn photograph of her parents. She explained that she had never met her father but heard he was once a professor at Starry Arts Academy, and she hoped Professor Li, having taught there for a long time, might recognize him. Professor Li, after looking at the incomplete picture, stated he didn't recognize the person.

He mentioned that he had worked for the Education Bureau for several years, so he didn't know all the teachers. He promised to ask his old colleagues for her, understanding how important this was to Amy. Disappointed, Amy later recounted her visit to Wei Feng, sharing her earlier suspicion that Professor Li might be her father.

However, she admitted that she had closely watched his face during their conversation and detected no change in his expression, which made her doubt her theory. Wei Feng advised her not to overthink things and suggested they could continue searching in the old Laojie neighborhood or ask Professor Li to keep inquiring. After Amy left, Professor Li, looking serious, picked up his phone, seemingly to make a call to someone very important to him.

Meanwhile, Cheng Ming was confirmed as the lead actress for the musical, a decision that was well-deserved due to her emotionally moving performance. Qu Shiyun, seeing Cheng Ming's ambition as an opportunity, actively offered to help Cheng Ming practice. Unaware of Qu Shiyun's ulterior motives, Cheng Ming gratefully accepted the offer.

Qu Shiyun, aiming to sabotage Cheng Ming's voice so she could take over the lead role and secure a contract with You You, deliberately increased the difficulty of Cheng Ming's vocal exercises, including running while singing and reaching extremely high notes. Despite the strenuous training, Cheng Ming's dedication and tireless effort impressed Qu Shiyun, making her want to stop tormenting Cheng Ming.

However, the intense practice had already taken its toll, and on the day of the performance, Cheng Ming started coughing uncontrollably, and her throat became inflamed. You Zhiqi quickly sought out Professor Dao for help. When the other students learned of Cheng Ming's condition, they worried about the performance. Amy directly accused Qu Shiyun of having a hidden agenda, stating that her constant practice with Cheng Ming was a ploy to replace her.

Feeling unfairly judged and hurt, Qu Shiyun vehemently denied the accusations, tearfully declaring that even if Cheng Ming couldn't perform and no one could replace her, she would never take on the role of Mary. She then rushed out of the room. Ding Dongdong followed her and overheard Qu Shiyun talking on the phone to You You, refusing to sign a contract and expressing deep regret for having hurt Cheng Ming.

Ding Dongdong then approached Qu Shiyun, acknowledging her past intentions but reassuring her that everyone understood she had changed her mind, especially since she had rejected the agency's offer. He encouraged her to bravely face the situation, emphasizing that they were all in it together. Qu Shiyun, tearfully, agreed not to run away and promised to face everyone. Professor Dao arrived and used Cheng Ming's situation to impart a lesson to the students about the importance of protecting their voices.

He then asked Qu Shiyun if she still wished to play the lead role. Qu Shiyun replied that while she had previously vied for the role, she now only wished to perform her assigned part well. Professor Dao respected her decision, praising her focus on her own character. Ultimately, Du Shuang, a student with excellent grades who had also practiced the lead role in her free time, was chosen to replace Cheng Ming.

Qu Shiyun sincerely apologized to Cheng Ming, who, instead of blaming her, encouraged her to perform her role well. Cheng Ming, now relegated to the audience, watched the musical unfold. Seeing You Zhiqi on stage, she reminisced about their past interactions, which solidified her decision to accept his confession. Meanwhile, You Zhiqi received a call from his doctor, reminding him to hurry to the airport, as he had to leave soon.

You Zhiqi, however, still had an important matter to settle regarding Cheng Ming, whom he couldn't let go of. He met with Wei Feng, asking him to look after Cheng Ming during his absence, explaining that he was leaving for an indefinite period and wasn't sure if he would return. Wei Feng urged You Zhiqi to tell Cheng Ming the truth himself.

You Zhiqi agreed to provide Cheng Ming with an explanation but asked Wei Feng to keep their meeting a secret. Later, Cheng Ming, holding a bouquet of flowers, met You Zhiqi, excitedly congratulating him on his performance and confessing her feelings for him, stating she had decided to be with him.

To her shock, You Zhiqi sternly dismissed his previous confession, claiming he was drunk and joking that day and that she shouldn't take it seriously, emphasizing that their relationship was merely that of an idol and a fan. Cheng Ming, hurt and confused, refused to believe him, asking about all the times he had been kind to her, his confession, and their first kiss.

You Zhiqi cruelly retorted that in his drunken state, he would have expressed affection to "even a stray cat or dog." Cheng Ming, enraged by his words, threw the flowers at him, still convinced he was hiding something. She pleaded with him to tell her the truth so they could face it together.

Desperate to push her away, You Zhiqi harshly told her to wake up, reiterated that he didn't like her, pushed her to the ground, and walked away, leaving her distraught in the pouring rain.

Episode 13 Recap

A year after You Zhiqi’s sudden disappearance from her life, Cheng Ming remained steadfast, believing he had unspoken difficulties and vowing to wait for his return. One day, after classes, Cheng Ming planned to help Wei Feng at his shop and inquire about Amy, who hadn't been seen since the new semester began. Meanwhile, Fang Yali continued her relentless dance practice, with Zhang Yiyong devotedly accompanying her.

She expressed a desire to study dance abroad, and Zhang Yiyong readily offered to go with her, though he was currently obligated to meet Professor Li Shuangbai. Elsewhere, Qu Shiyun playfully dragged Ding Dongdong along for a shopping trip, primarily intending for him to take numerous beautiful photos of her and subtly deepen their connection. Professor Li Shuangbai informed Zhang Yiyong that You Zhiqi's one-year leave of absence was nearing its end.

If an extension application wasn't submitted, You Zhiqi faced expulsion. Professor Li tasked Zhang Yiyong with taking the extension application to You Zhiqi's management agency for his agent, You You, to sign, stressing its urgency. Zhang Yiyong, as a loyal friend, readily accepted. At Wei Feng’s shop, Cheng Ming brought up Amy’s absence. Wei Feng, who had been following Amy on Weibo, noticed she frequently posted from what appeared to be an underground dance hall.

Upon closer inspection, Cheng Ming confirmed it was indeed such a venue. They immediately headed there and found Amy engaged in a one-on-one dance battle, which she ultimately won with her impressive skills. Cheng Ming and Wei Feng cheered enthusiastically for her victory. Amy, overjoyed, hugged Cheng Ming tightly, who credited Wei Feng for finding her, making Amy realize how much he cared. Amy then revealed her distress, feeling neglected by her mother and with no news of her father.

Wei Feng encouraged her to be strong, reminding her that many people cared about her and she shouldn't limit herself to just finding her father. Amy then asked if she was important to the person she liked, implicitly referring to Wei Feng, who, understanding her meaning, dodged the question and made an excuse to leave.

You Zhiqi returned from Japan, his condition significantly improved after nearly a year of treatment, allowing for a gradual reduction in medication and the prospect of full recovery. His first thought was to find Cheng Ming, the person he felt compelled to protect. As You Zhiqi arrived at Starry Arts Academy, familiar sights brought back vivid memories of Cheng Ming, stirring complex emotions within him. He grappled with how to face her and explain his year-long absence.

Just then, Xiao Liu, You Zhiqi’s assistant, appeared, stating that You You had an urgent matter requiring his immediate return to the company. Reluctantly, You Zhiqi followed Xiao Liu. Earlier that day, Zhang Yiyong had been repeatedly blocked by security guards at the agency, unable to get in despite explaining his purpose. It wasn't until You Zhiqi's arrival that he finally gained entry.

Inside, You You vehemently scolded You Zhiqi for his year-long absence and the company's financial losses, but ultimately focused on leveraging his value as a popular artist. Meanwhile, on campus, Qu Shiyun and Ding Dongdong spotted You Zhiqi and excitedly relayed the news to Cheng Ming over the phone.

Shortly after, Wei Feng also spoke to Cheng Ming on the phone, revealing that before You Zhiqi left, he had asked him to look after Cheng Ming, suggesting she should now seek clarity from You Zhiqi. Cheng Ming rushed to the agency but was also stopped by security. Zhang Yiyong, recognizing her, distracted the guards, allowing Cheng Ming to slip past. Rushing upstairs, she accidentally collided with a cleaner, getting soaked with water as a security guard pursued her relentlessly.

Just as she found herself trapped, You Zhiqi suddenly pulled her into a nearby room. Seeing Cheng Ming drenched, You Zhiqi urged her to take a shower while he dried her clothes. Unexpectedly, You You arrived with Reporter Wang. Thinking quickly, You Zhiqi rushed into the bathroom, covering Cheng Ming's mouth to prevent her from speaking, and pretended to be showering himself. You You expertly diverted Reporter Wang, getting him to temporarily leave the room.

Once they were alone, Cheng Ming confronted You Zhiqi, demanding to know where he had been for the past year and if it was related to his illness. You Zhiqi confessed that he had gone to Japan for medical treatment for his worsening condition. He explained that his harsh words before leaving were out of fear that he might not return, and he didn't want Cheng Ming to endure a hopeless wait.

Cheng Ming retorted that he only considered his own feelings, never what she truly needed. She wanted to face any difficulties with him, not be subjected to such "well-intentioned deception." You Zhiqi then asked if they could be together again, now that he was back.

Cheng Ming, however, firmly stated that while he may have returned and changed, she was no longer the same Cheng Ming who would wait at the original place for him, having spent a year adjusting to life without him.

Episode 14 Recap

Reporter Wang was already suspicious about You Zhiqi's year-long disappearance and began to wonder if You Zhiqi had really gone abroad as You You claimed, despite You You's explanation that he was suffering from jet lag after returning from his studies. You You tried to convince him, reiterating that they had announced You Zhiqi was studying overseas a year ago, but Reporter Wang countered that if it were true, the company would have heavily promoted it.

He dismissed You You's suggestion of an article about You Zhiqi's return as trending news, stating it was "far from enough." To appease him, You You had Xiao Liu give Reporter Wang a red packet, and she promised that any future exclusive news about You Zhiqi would go to him first.

Reporter Wang accepted and left with Xiao Liu, but after Xiao Liu saw him out, Reporter Wang changed his mind and returned to the company, convinced that You You was hiding something and hoping to uncover a bigger story. Inside, a heavily intoxicated You Zhiqi recalled a painful past conversation with Cheng Ming.

In his memory, Cheng Ming had accused him of being preoccupied with his own fears and neglecting her desires, emphasizing that she simply wanted them to face challenges together.

When he asked if they could start anew now that he had returned, she unequivocally refused, telling him that he was the one who left and came back, and it took her a year to adapt to life without him, so his return didn't mean she would be waiting in the same place. Still disoriented by alcohol, You Zhiqi was then escorted by Xiao Liu to You You's office, where Reporter Wang secretly followed and began filming.

You Zhiqi, mistaking You You for Cheng Ming, began to pour out his feelings. You You initially thought he was expressing gratitude for her support, but her expression turned to shock as he continued, "I like you. Can we be together?" Reporter Wang seized the moment, rushing in to take photos and instantly generating potential scandalous headlines such as "Shocking! A newbie became an entertainment big shot's sugar baby" and "Shocking! A newbie was tragically abandoned."

You You angrily confronted him, threatening to sue for slander if he published falsehoods. However, You Zhiqi, still disoriented, perceived Reporter Wang as bullying "his woman" and lunged at him. A chaotic struggle ensued with You You and Xiao Liu trying to intervene, while Reporter Wang, enraged, warned You Zhiqi that he would regret this and then fled. Once You Zhiqi sobered up, You You was furious, scolding him for hitting someone and making the situation much worse.

She pointed out that this wasn't merely trivial news, but a scandal about an agent embracing a professional entertainer, which crossed a professional line and could ruin both their careers. You Zhiqi, however, was dismissive, believing that a year out of the spotlight meant the incident wouldn't cause a significant stir. Meanwhile, Amy returned to her dorm to find only Qu Shiyun there.

Qu Shiyun informed her that Cheng Ming had gone to see You Zhiqi and returned looking distraught before running out. Worried, Amy found Cheng Ming sitting alone on the bleachers at the track field. When asked what was wrong, Cheng Ming confided that she had tried to understand someone by looking at the stars but failed, concluding that stars, like some things, are "out of reach."

Amy encouraged her, advising that failure is not scary; rather, giving up without trying is. Qu Shiyun and Fang Yali soon joined them, bringing midnight snacks that Zhang Yiyong had bought for Fang Yali. The friends shared food and laughter, successfully lifting Cheng Ming's spirits. Qu Shiyun, preparing for an audition, still enjoyed the snacks and declared her goal to become a "world-class superstar."

Fang Yali, who had become noticeably more cheerful and talkative lately, changed the subject to her dream of attending a dance school in England, explaining her unwavering dedication to dance despite the physical pain, as it allows her to express her emotions. The next day, Amy met with Wei Feng, who revealed his intention to pursue a postgraduate degree and stay at Starry Arts to become a teacher.

Amy shared her own plans to open a hip-hop studio with a friend, also aspiring to be a teacher. Wei Feng affectionately teased her, calling her a "little kid," but then gave her a gift, explaining it was his "answer to her," before gently nudging her to attend the graduation musical selection, as Professor Li Shuangbai would be waiting.

During the graduation musical discussion, Professor Li Shuangbai and Professor Dao Xiaoxian presented several classic musicals like "Chicago," "Cats," and "Les Miserables" for consideration. Students showcased their talents, with Qu Shiyun performing a segment from "Cats," and others presenting various acts, including Amy, Cheng Ming, and their friends performing a song and dance routine.

However, Ding Dongdong proposed writing an entirely new musical that would incorporate all their college experiences to truly represent their youth and conclude their time at university, a suggestion that garnered widespread approval. It was then that students started noticing the breaking news on their phones, with You Zhiqi's scandal dominating the top five hot searches.

Headlines screamed about "Former Top Young Hunk You Zhiqi Kept by Sugar Mommy Agent," "You Zhiqi Got Drunk and Abused Others Late at Night," and "You Zhiqi attacked a reporter." The friends were appalled, though Cheng Ming struggled to believe the accusations. President Chen called You You into his office, expressing deep disappointment. He informed her that while the company had wanted to fire her, he had intervened, but she was now suspended for further examination.

You Zhiqi was to be confined to the company premises. You You pleaded for an opportunity to clarify the situation, emphasizing the negative impact on the company, but President Chen dismissed her. Devastated, You You learned the full truth from You Zhiqi, who finally showed her his medical diagnosis: Post-traumatic stress disorder and Nyctophobia, a difficult psychological illness he had been secretly treating in Japan for years.

Feeling guilty for not being more attentive, You You apologized for not knowing and promised to handle the public relations crisis, urging him to rest. However, the situation quickly worsened. Reporter Wang released a video online, cosmetically enhancing his injuries to appear severely beaten, claiming You Zhiqi had attacked him out of anger for his exposé and urging netizens to boycott You Zhiqi.

Fangirls turned on You Zhiqi, while Cheng Ming and her friends were enraged by Reporter Wang's malice and the widespread cyberbullying. They observed how quickly temporary fans abandoned You Zhiqi when he faced trouble. Fang Yali suggested they leave supportive messages online, believing that even changing one person's opinion would make their efforts worthwhile. You You tirelessly tried to mitigate the damage, making calls to various contacts.

A brand director demanded compensation and refused to delay replacing You Zhiqi as an endorser. You You tried to suppress hot searches and offered other artists' news to reporters in exchange for not publishing more damaging stories. She firmly told Reporter Wang and Reporter He that the rumors were fake and she would sue them if they continued to write baseless reports. Outside the company building, a crowd of protesters gathered, loudly chanting, "You Zhiqi, leave the entertainment industry!" Seeing the chaos, Cheng Ming, deeply worried, sent a text message to You Zhiqi, asking, "You Zhiqi, where are you? I want to see you."

Episode 15 Recap

Ding Dongdong, recommended by his teacher, began working as an assistant on a drama set. The set was chaotic, and he felt somewhat out of place. He noticed Qu Shiyun, an extra, struggling through multiple takes while carrying a heavy load. Despite her best efforts, she dropped the load, profusely apologizing to the director. Later, he saw her eating a simple boxed meal alone.

Qu Shiyun recognized Ding Dongdong and pulled him aside, sternly warning him not to reveal her presence on the film set to their classmates, threatening him if he did. Ding Dongdong promised to keep her secret and, with warmth, handed her a meal he had bought, complete with clean silverware, urging her to eat well and take care of herself. Qu Shiyun was deeply moved by his gesture.

Upon seeing Cheng Ming's urgent message expressing her desire to see him, You Zhiqi impulsively tried to leave. However, Xiao Liu physically restrained him, reminding him that the company had forbidden him from going anywhere for a few days. During their struggle, Xiao Liu accidentally revealed that You You had been suspended by the company due to the scandal. You Zhiqi was shocked, realizing the severe repercussions his actions had caused for You You.

Meanwhile, You You was confronted by a swarm of reporters outside the company building, all clamoring for answers about her relationship with You Zhiqi. Security escorted her safely into a car, and she headed to meet Cheng Ming. You You explained to Cheng Ming that You Zhiqi had been grounded by the company for his safety. She then pressed Cheng Ming about what truly happened the day she left You Zhiqi with her, and Cheng Ming admitted they had quarreled.

You You commented that she had suspected as much, knowing it would explain why You Zhiqi got drunk. With You You herself suspended and unable to access her usual resources and connections, she turned to Cheng Ming and her friends, requesting their help to resolve You Zhiqi's crisis. You You presented her comprehensive plan, the first step of which was to address You Zhiqi's fan club.

She explained that the fan club leader, a girl known as Curly, was responsible for mobilizing fans, and even she was now suspicious of You Zhiqi. You You tasked Cheng Ming with gaining Curly's absolute trust, leveraging Cheng Ming's close connection to You Zhiqi. Cheng Ming messaged Curly, describing You Zhiqi as a positive idol dedicated to charity and asserting that his relationship with You You was purely professional, not romantic.

She stressed the importance of fans uniting to support him during this challenging time and proposed a meeting. At their meeting, Cheng Ming reassured Curly that her willingness to meet suggested she still believed in You Zhiqi. She then urged Curly to help clarify the truth about You Zhiqi's situation to all fans. Curly, initially skeptical and asking about Cheng Ming's true intentions, was told that Cheng Ming was simply another concerned You fan.

Cheng Ming then refuted the false claims: You Zhiqi was not in a relationship with You You, nor was he a violent assailant who seriously injured Reporter Wang. When Curly questioned how Cheng Ming knew this, Cheng Ming showed her a special video of You Zhiqi performing a song he wrote for his fans, featuring a "lucky rabbit" charm that Curly recognized as her own gift to him.

The video, recorded before the scandal, convinced Curly that You Zhiqi remained the warm and inspiring person they had always admired. Cheng Ming emphasized that now was the time for fans to protect him. Curly agreed to carefully consider Cheng Ming's appeal, effectively "conquered" by her sincerity. The second part of You You's plan involved counter-attacking Reporter Wang, a notoriously unethical figure in the entertainment industry known for his secret filming habits and blackmail.

You You planned to leverage his illicit activities against him. Wei Feng, Zhang Yiyong, and Ding Dongdong were recruited for this mission, as they had no personal stakes with Wang. Wei Feng called Reporter Wang, posing as a delivery driver with a package from "Ms. Coco," luring him downstairs. As Wang came out, Zhang Yiyong "accidentally" bumped into him, allowing Ding Dongdong to surreptitiously photograph Wang appearing completely unharmed, contrary to his claims about being assaulted by You Zhiqi.

Wei Feng then gave Wang a package containing a hotel room key card, implying a private meeting with Coco. Meanwhile, You You was already with actress Coco in the hotel room. You You revealed that Reporter Wang possessed compromising photos of Coco with Director Zeng and intended to both blackmail Coco for money and sell the photos to Director Zeng's wife, effectively ruining Coco's career. Realizing the severity of her situation, Coco, convinced by You You, agreed to cooperate.

You You instructed Coco to wait in the hotel room for Wang, equipped with a hidden camera to record his actions. Later, in the hotel room, Reporter Wang accepted 300,000 yuan from Coco but then demanded more and tried to physically assault her. At that moment, Wei Feng, Zhang Yiyong, and Ding Dongdong burst in, rescuing Coco and subduing Wang. After Coco discreetly thanked You You over the phone, Reporter Wang realized he had been set up by You You.

Confronted, he was forced to confess that he had maliciously fabricated all the rumors about You Zhiqi. He admitted You Zhiqi was merely drunk that night, and You You was only trying to calm him down, confirming that the stories of You Zhiqi being a "sugar baby" and assaulting a reporter were entirely made up. With the rumors about You Zhiqi debunked, Director Chen called You You to his office.

He reinstated her as the company's ace agent and presented her with a new batch of promising celebrities to manage. However, he specifically stated that he had assigned another agent to You Zhiqi and strongly advised You You not to get involved with him. Director Chen explained that You Zhiqi had breached numerous contracts, resulting in as much as 50 million yuan in compensation fees, and didn't want his top agent to be dragged down.

You You, however, adamantly refused, reminding Director Chen that she had brought You Zhiqi out of the welfare agency and had treated him like her own younger brother for years. She declared that she would not abandon him. You Zhiqi later reflected on his past behavior, understanding now You You's unwavering support and the burdens he had placed on her, realizing it was time for him to take responsibility.

Despite the initial crisis being resolved, a new issue emerged: news of You Zhiqi's 50 million yuan in contract breach penalties quickly went viral. Cheng Ming and her friends saw the news, deeply concerned. Cheng Ming's worry intensified when she saw You Zhiqi's advertisements being taken down, further highlighting his precarious situation. You Zhiqi himself saw his own advertisements removed, looking dejected. Still deeply worried about You Zhiqi's immense debt, Cheng Ming pondered how to help him.

She then contacted You You, asking for an urgent meeting. At their meeting, Cheng Ming proposed a solution: she would sign a ten-year contract with the company, using her earnings to offset You Zhiqi's contract cancellation fees and other financial losses.

You You was naturally pleased by the offer, having long sought to sign Cheng Ming, but she urged Cheng Ming to discuss such a significant decision with You Zhiqi first, believing it wasn't Cheng Ming's sole intention and anticipating You Zhiqi's strong reaction if he wasn't consulted. Following You You's advice, Cheng Ming went to You Zhiqi's residence.

She explained that she knew about his substantial debt from online news and wanted to sign with You You to help him repay it, offering to share his burden. You Zhiqi asked why she would do such a thing, to which Cheng Ming courageously confessed, "Because I like you." Though deeply moved, You Zhiqi stated he now had nothing and was burdened by debt.

Cheng Ming reiterated that she liked him for who he was and was willing to stand by him through any hardship. You Zhiqi acknowledged her feelings but firmly stated he would not allow her to suffer alongside him. He assured her he had his own plan to handle the situation and would give her an answer once everything was resolved.

Without informing either You You or Cheng Ming, You Zhiqi covertly scheduled a personal statement press conference and announced it on his Weibo. Xiao Liu discovered the post, showing it to a stunned You You. After failing to reach You Zhiqi, whose phone was off, You You and Xiao Liu immediately decided to rush to the venue. Meanwhile, Cheng Ming also learned about the press conference from her friend Amy, who showed her the online announcement.

You You called Cheng Ming to confirm she also had no prior knowledge of You Zhiqi's plans. Online, additional baseless rumors about You Zhiqi's background were spreading, painting him as opportunistic and mocking his old performance videos. You You, distressed, urged her driver to speed up, while Cheng Ming, wanting to go to You Zhiqi, was stopped by Amy, who feared Cheng Ming's presence would only worsen the situation amidst the throngs of reporters.

Wei Feng suggested they gather at his store to formulate a plan. At the press conference, You Zhiqi stood bravely and calmly before a multitude of reporters. He began by candidly addressing the online rumors, confirming that his parents were not abroad and that he was not, nor would he ever be, the son of a rich family as previously speculated. As he spoke, Cheng Ming watched the live broadcast from Wei Feng's store, growing increasingly anxious.

A reporter then pressed him about his relationship with his agent, You You, implying it was more than just professional. You Zhiqi confirmed, "Yes. We don't simply have an artiste and manager relationship." Just as he was about to elaborate further, You You and Xiao Liu burst into the conference hall, with You You urgently calling out You Zhiqi's name, fearing he was about to make the situation uncontrollably worse.

Episode 16 Recap

You Zhiqi, facing a persistent barrage of questions from reporters and You You's desperate attempts to stop the press conference due to his supposed emotional instability, calmly asserted that his emotions were stable and insisted on continuing. He displayed a childhood photograph and a newspaper clipping detailing a child trafficking case, revealing to everyone that he was the child in the photo.

He openly declared himself an orphan, having been raised in a charity home, and expressed his wish for a normal life with ordinary parents who could tell him his true birthday, rather than having to commemorate the day he was rescued from traffickers.

He also clarified his relationship with You You, stating she was more than just an agent; she was like a mother, a sister, and family who brought him out of the orphanage, gave him a new life, and continuously protected him, filling the void of his missing parents. His heartfelt confession earned him a round of applause from the reporters.

Watching the live broadcast, Cheng Ming was deeply moved to tears, feeling profound sympathy for You Zhiqi's difficult childhood and the pain he must have endured. Wei Feng tried to reassure Cheng Ming, suggesting that You Zhiqi’s decision to be honest might ultimately be a positive step. You Zhiqi then delivered another significant announcement: he would temporarily suspend all commercial performances to concentrate fully on his studies.

You You, shocked by this sudden declaration, confronted him later, asking why he hadn't discussed it with her. You Zhiqi apologized for his selfishness but firmly stated his desire to stop hiding and live authentically, free from a fabricated persona. He emphasized that he needed to face his reality and protect You You, who had already sacrificed so much for him.

He revealed that during his year abroad, he meticulously studied music production, aiming to become a skilled actor and a competent music producer, aspiring to reach the top again as a true performer rather than just a pop idol. You You, understanding his long-held dream, ultimately accepted his decision to pursue this new path and promised to support him in his career transition. You Zhiqi later found Cheng Ming at Wei Feng’s shop.

Wei Feng shared how dedicated and hardworking Cheng Ming had been in the past year, constantly striving to stand on the same level as You Zhiqi, despite the pain she felt when he left abruptly. You Zhiqi acknowledged her struggles, promising not to let her down again. Amy, passing by, offered a silent gesture of support, patting his shoulder.

You Zhiqi approached Cheng Ming and confessed that he had finally found his true self and asked her to be with him. Overwhelmed with emotion, Cheng Ming readily agreed, vowing to remain by his side no matter what the future held. They embraced and shared a kiss, dispelling all past misunderstandings between them. Later, their friends gathered at Wei Feng's shop to celebrate You Zhiqi's return and his reconciliation with Cheng Ming.

Zhang Yiyong playfully teased You Zhiqi about his "premeditated" act of bringing Cheng Ming home during their freshman year, causing Cheng Ming to blush. Wei Feng then announced his decision to sell the shop, explaining his intention to donate a portion of the proceeds from the collectible figures to orphanages and dedicate himself entirely to teaching at Starry Art Academy.

Although the friends expressed sadness at the shop's closure, acknowledging the many memories it held, they toasted to new beginnings with juice. After everyone else left, Amy stayed to comfort Wei Feng, who was clearly reluctant to part with his cherished shop. She gently told him that the figures had fulfilled their purpose by accompanying him through his growth and would now embark on new journeys with new owners.

She assured him that he would never be lonely because she would always be by his side. The following day, while assisting Professor Li Shuangbai with documents, Wei Feng discovered a photograph that he believed could be a significant clue in finding Amy's father.

He recalled that Amy’s father had once worked and studied at Starry Art, and Professor Li had been transferred to the Education Bureau during that period, explaining why he hadn't recognized the person in the photo earlier. Wei Feng assured Amy that they were getting closer to the truth. As graduation neared, the friends discussed their futures.

Qu Shiyun proudly announced a major audition, and both Amy and Fang Yali were receiving numerous calls from talent agencies, though Amy found some of them to be "bogus." In contrast, Cheng Ming, despite her excellent academic performance, had received no offers, leaving her feeling anxious and disheartened. Qu Shiyun teasingly suggested this might be the entertainment industry's "good grades, no popularity" curse, but Amy tried to console Cheng Ming.

Meanwhile, You You was diligently working to support You Zhiqi’s career change. A producer, needing a music producer for a low-budget film, approached her. You You saw an opportunity and recommended You Zhiqi, vouching for his competence despite recent public opinion, and arranged a meeting for them. You Zhiqi called Cheng Ming on his phone to invite her on a casual date. They encountered the same elderly flower vendor from whom Cheng Ming had once bought all her flowers.

The vendor recognized Cheng Ming and, upon seeing You Zhiqi, earnestly urged him to treat Cheng Ming well, praising her kindness. You Zhiqi promised to cherish her and bought flowers, insisting on paying despite the vendor's offer to give them for free. Later, Cheng Ming took You Zhiqi to a casual skewers restaurant, wanting him to experience a "normal" date. You Zhiqi was deeply touched, finding happiness in simply being with her, no matter the activity.

The restaurant owner, impressed by You Zhiqi's handsome features and mistaking him for a celebrity lookalike, offered them free beer. Cheng Ming playfully teased You Zhiqi about his looks benefiting them, but then playfully feigned jealousy when the owner mentioned You Zhiqi's past rumored girlfriends. You Zhiqi quickly reassured her that those were merely marketing strategies from his previous company and playfully declared her his "one and only," sparking more affectionate banter.

He also shared that You You had secured a music producer interview for him. Separately, Professor Li Shuangbai met with his former student, Dongnan, who had become a successful investor. Li Shuangbai presented Dongnan with student-written scripts, hoping he would consider investing, especially since Dongnan’s company was looking for new talent. Dongnan expressed interest in evaluating the scripts and scouting actors. Li Shuangbai then subtly brought up Amy, reminding Dongnan that Amy, his biological daughter, was nearing graduation.

Li Shuangbai gently urged Dongnan to consider acknowledging her, as it would become more difficult after she left school. However, Dongnan stated he was not yet ready to reveal his identity to Amy and had decided to postpone doing so for the time being.

Episode 17 Recap

You Zhiqi returned to the dormitory, catching Ding Dongdong and Zhang Yiyong by surprise as they had piled their belongings onto his bed. Seeing the "pigsty" state of his bed, You Zhiqi was both amused and touched by their joyous welcome. They quickly assured him they would clean his bed, making it even tidier than Ding Dongdong's bags, by nightfall, delighted that he was moving back. Shortly after settling in, You Zhiqi called Cheng Ming to invite her to dinner.

She informed him she was off-campus for an interview with an agent. He expressed concern that it might be a fraud, but Cheng Ming reassured him, explaining that all her classmates were interviewing and she finally got an opportunity. She told him she could sense any wrongdoing and urged him to set up his dorm, promising to call after her interview. Meanwhile, Li Shuangbai spoke with Mi Dongnan about Amy.

Dongnan believed Amy’s mother, Aili, had raised her very well and that Amy was both talented and sincere. He worried that his current social status might burden Amy and felt that Aili, who had left him resolutely years ago and never spoken of him to Amy, clearly didn't want them to reconnect. Li Shuangbai, however, argued that familial ties couldn't simply be broken and urged him to reconsider, emphasizing Amy's desire to meet him. Cheng Ming proceeded with her interview.

The person, Si Tuying, praised Cheng Ming’s foundational skills despite noting her "not excellent image." She explained that her company was seeking outstanding graduates for a six-month Broadway training session in the USA, with the promise of becoming Broadway-signed actors. However, Si Tuying stated that tuition and roundtrip airfare would be the individual’s responsibility. Feeling suspicious, Cheng Ming asked for time to consider and promised to reply the next day.

After Cheng Ming left, Si Tuying noted her wariness but confidently vowed to "fix up this girl." Outside the hotel, Cheng Ming ran into Qu Shiyun, who was nervous about a film audition and asked Cheng Ming to accompany her. While Qu Shiyun went in to record an audition excerpt, as Director Lin was busy, Cheng Ming waited outside, softly rehearsing a song.

Director Lin, stepping out for a phone call, noticed her softly rehearsing a song and mistakenly asked if she was there for a screen test, telling her to "go ahead." Qu Shiyun emerged later, disappointed that she hadn't even met the director. Later that evening, Cheng Ming discussed her day with You Zhiqi.

She recounted her interview with Si Tuying and her subsequent encounter with Qu Shiyun at Director Lin's film audition, where she herself had been mistaken for an auditionee. You Zhiqi explained that Director Lin was known for his rigorous selection process, taking months to choose actors who fit roles perfectly.

Cheng Ming then mentioned that she suspected Si Tuying was a fraud for offering "Broadway theatrical performance training" with personal costs, but admitted she still wanted to pursue the opportunity, just in case it was real. You Zhiqi immediately offered to accompany her, even suggesting he postpone his meeting with a producer, but Cheng Ming stopped him, asserting her ability to handle it and her desire for them both to focus on their respective career growth.

The next day, as Si Tuying pressured Cheng Ming to sign the contract, citing it as a "rare opportunity," Yoyo suddenly appeared. Yoyo confronted Si Tuying, exposing her as a notorious fraudster who preys on inexperienced young girls, making false promises of stardom and now lying about Broadway studies. Si Tuying tried to dismiss Yoyo, but Yoyo, revealing Cheng Ming was her friend, expressed her contempt for those who "pollute our profession." Si Tuying quickly left.

Yoyo then explained that You Zhiqi had asked her to check on Cheng Ming, as he was worried while he was busy with a meeting to compose music for a small-budget movie. Cheng Ming confessed she had suspected the scam but still wanted to explore her Broadway dream. Just then, Cheng Ming received a phone call from Qu Shiyun, informing her that Director Lin had selected her. Surprised, Yoyo, who knew Director Lin, immediately took Cheng Ming to meet him.

Director Lin was delighted, explaining they had been searching nationwide for the second female lead. Upon learning Cheng Ming had no prior acting experience, he was even more pleased, stating he was looking for a "blank piece of paper" for the role of a music lover, and her singing had perfectly captured that essence.

He urged her to join the team immediately for next week’s closed-door rehearsals, which would last approximately six months due to the extensive singing and dancing scenes. Cheng Ming was taken aback by the half-year commitment and asked for time to think. Yoyo urged her to seize this "huge leap upwards," reminding her that many art students spend their lives unknown without such opportunities.

However, Cheng Ming felt torn, as the training would mean missing the graduate production she deeply wanted to participate in. Yoyo granted her two days to decide, remarking on how similar Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi were in their stubbornness. Meanwhile, Fang Yali's mother visited, excitedly telling her that her father had arranged for her to become a leading lady at the Haima troupe right after graduation.

Fang Yali reacted with strong disapproval, expressing her frustration that her parents made decisions for her without her input. She stated her desire to earn a role in the graduation play through her own efforts, rather than relying on their connections. Her mother, angrily calling her "stupid" for prioritizing a graduation play, suggested her father could easily arrange a show where she'd still be the lead.

Upset, Fang Yali told her mother to stop making choices for her and said she had dinner plans, leading to her mother's angry departure. Cheng Ming remained distressed by her dilemma. You Zhiqi, finding her upset, advised her to follow her heart, stating that "where your heart is, that's where your dream is!" He also shared how his own meeting went smoothly after playing his music.

Cheng Ming then received a call from Amy, inviting everyone to a diner for a celebration. Cheng Ming felt guilty about Qu Shiyun's disappointment, especially since she had been selected for the role Qu Shiyun had auditioned for. But at the diner, her friends, including Qu Shiyun, encouraged her to embrace the opportunity. Qu Shiyun, though clearly upset, told Cheng Ming to make the best of it and not disappoint her.

Zhang Yiyong even performed a rap to lighten the mood, and everyone toasted to Cheng Ming's future success. At the same time, Mi Dongnan expressed his enthusiasm for Ding Dongdong’s script, stating it reminded him of his own youth and he wanted to invest immediately. Li Shuangbai promised to arrange a meeting and asked Dongnan to mentor Ding Dongdong. While they spoke, Wei Feng arrived.

Li Shuangbai, aware of Wei Feng's efforts to help Amy find her father, introduced Wei Feng to Mi Dongnan as Amy's father, encouraging them to talk. Wei Feng directly asked Dongnan why he refused to meet Amy after she had searched for him for four years.

Dongnan explained that Aili had left him because he was a "poor rascal" unable to provide the life she deserved, and he felt he couldn't intrude upon their lives without Aili's consent, despite having secretly monitored them over the years. Wei Feng countered that Amy still deserved an explanation from her father. Later, Cheng Ming returned home to discuss her decision with her parents.

Her father, a great admirer of Director Lin, was excited by the news and initially hoped she would accept the film role. Her mother, however, questioned how a musical theater student could suddenly act. Cheng Ming explained her confusion, torn between the film and the graduate production. Her parents ultimately told her they would support whatever decision she made, urging her to follow her heart.

Her mother admitted that she had previously been fearful of Cheng Ming pursuing the arts but now saw her determination and promised not to meddle in her life anymore. Cheng Ming emotionally thanked them. Back at school, Li Shuangbai found Cheng Ming still pondering her choice.

Li Shuangbai offered guidance, explaining that many students who pursued industry opportunities had varied outcomes, some finding fame and others struggling because they neglected to practice their skills and later struggled to find performance opportunities on stage. She advised Cheng Ming to carefully consider which path she "wants to do the most"—the film, or completing her studies and performing in the graduate production. Cheng Ming thanked her, stating she now knew what to choose. You Zhiqi then arrived, happy to see that Cheng Ming had found her answer.

Episode 18 Recap

Ding Dongdong meticulously chose his clothes in preparation for a significant meeting. He was recommended by Professor Li Shuangbai to meet with President Mi Dongnan, a potential investor for their graduation show. His roommate, Zhang Yiyong, ribbed him good-naturedly for taking so long. Zhang Yiyong then observed both Ding Dongdong and You Zhiqi, who was busy reviewing his music composition "Share," and lamented how quickly their four years of university were passing.

He felt aimless, calling himself a "salt fish" while everyone else had aspirations. Ding Dongdong and You Zhiqi tried to console him, suggesting they would fulfill his artistic dreams for him, which only made Zhang Yiyong feel worse. Zhang Yiyong reflected on their classmates' paths: Fang Yali was working hard to audition for the British Ballet School, Amy had established her own street dance studio, and Qu Shiyun was frequently attending auditions, clearly set on becoming an actress.

He expressed particular confusion about Cheng Ming, who had forgone a significant opportunity as the second female lead in Director Lin's new film to focus on the graduation show. Zhang Yiyong playfully "interviewed" You Zhiqi about Cheng Ming's decision, to which You Zhiqi unequivocally stated that he supported whatever Cheng Ming decided. Before leaving for his meeting, Ding Dongdong reminded Zhang Yiyong that he did have an aspiration from his very first day at Starry Arts Academy.

This sparked a realization in Zhang Yiyong, who excitedly declared his dream was to be the man behind his idol, Fang Yali, and rushed off to buy her groceries. Ding Dongdong presented his script, "Almost Famous," at a meeting with President Mi Dongnan's team. President Mi expressed his strong interest in the script and instructed his team to assess its feasibility and adaptation potential.

Ding Dongdong explained his inspiration, revealing that he wrote the story to depict the real-life struggles and dreams of students at an arts school. However, some team members suggested adding "sensational" and more commercially appealing elements to boost ratings, arguing that today's audiences prefer romance and dramatic flair. Ding Dongdong firmly refused, emphasizing the importance of staying true to the realistic and inspirational nature of his story.

When President Mi stepped out to take a call, the team's demeanor shifted dramatically. They harshly criticized the script, calling it "dry and boring" and asserting it lacked the modern elements necessary for success, even questioning its worthiness for production. Feeling disrespected and angered by their superficial feedback, Ding Dongdong declared he would rather abandon the project than allow them to distort his original work.

After the contentious meeting, Ding Dongdong met with President Mi, who encouraged him not to give up on his vision. President Mi revealed that Professor Li Shuangbai had already agreed to use "Almost Famous" as the graduation show. He promised that if the graduation show was well-received, he would proceed with Ding Dongdong's original ideas for a television adaptation.

President Mi, emphasizing his company's commitment to nurturing new talent, then introduced Ding Dongdong to Chairwoman Lin, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry known for her unique vision. Chairwoman Lin also praised Ding Dongdong's talent and shared President Mi's ambition to create a Chinese version of "Fame." She assured Ding Dongdong that she would provide the best resources and team, allowing him to focus entirely on writing a compelling script.

With the support of these two influential figures, Ding Dongdong's spirits soared, and he dedicated himself to the script's adaptation. Meanwhile, You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming were deeply immersed in their work for "Almost Famous." You Zhiqi proudly presented a new arrangement for a song, suggesting it as the main soundtrack. Cheng Ming found it perfect, noting how well it captured the script's artistic essence.

You Zhiqi shared his elaborate plans for various arrangements, incorporating instruments like the violin and piano, promising to make it the best. Wei Feng joined them, lightheartedly teasing them about their collaborative "affection" before offering his own insights on adding harmonies and variations to the melody. Back at the school, students were abuzz discussing the graduation show. Ding Dongdong excitedly announced that Professor Li had confirmed "Almost Famous" as their official graduation performance script, much to everyone's delight.

Professor Dao then delivered even more exciting news: the school would invite renowned organizations, famous actors, directors, and even a Broadway production company to watch their performance. She stressed the immense impact this would have on their future careers and urged everyone to strive for the roles they desired. In the dorm, Cheng Ming, Amy, and Qu Shiyun read the script.

Cheng Ming, who found the characters "robust," immediately set her sights on the female lead, determined to prove herself after missing out on the role in her sophomore year. Qu Shiyun also expressed her desire for the lead, highlighting her early debut and popularity. Amy, however, candidly suggested the role might not suit Qu Shiyun, which provoked a heated response.

Qu Shiyun claimed Ding Dongdong had based the female lead on her, but Amy countered by questioning her ability and suggesting she pursue the lead in the television adaptation instead. Angered, Qu Shiyun called Ding Dongdong, subtly asking if he could secure her an important role in the TV version of "Almost Famous," but he informed her that President Mi held the ultimate decision on casting.

Undeterred, Qu Shiyun went directly to Yiyu Media without an appointment, insisting on meeting President Mi. She recounted her extensive acting experience since childhood, her passion, and the sacrifices she had made. President Mi, who had learned she was Amy's roommate, promised to review her materials and give her a chance if her performance proved compelling, though Qu Shiyun mistakenly believed her talent and sincerity were the reasons for his interest.

Cheng Ming explained to You Zhiqi and Wei Feng why she prioritized the graduation show over Director Lin's film opportunity. She believed that while movie roles could come later, the graduation show was a unique, once-in-a-lifetime chance she had prepared four years for, aligning with her true dream of being a musical actress. You Zhiqi fully supported her ambition. Wei Feng encouraged You Zhiqi, reminding him of his resilient spirit.

You Zhiqi affirmed his dream of becoming the best music producer, while Wei Feng aspired to teach at Starry Arts. Cheng Ming resolved to do her best with the graduation show, and they all expressed hopes for their dreams to come true. Meanwhile, Zhang Yiyong arrived to comfort a distressed Fang Yali, who was distraught after failing her audition for the British Ballet School.

She confided in him that she had hoped admission to a foreign school would free her from her mother's control and parental arrangements, and now all her hard work felt wasted. Zhang Yiyong reassured her, offering his unwavering support. President Mi, concerned about his daughter Amy but hesitant to openly acknowledge her due to her mother's past actions, sought a discreet way to learn more about her.

He contacted Qu Shiyun, offering her a role in the "Almost Famous" TV adaptation. In exchange, he requested that she secretly provide him with information about Amy's academic and living situation. Qu Shiyun, puzzled, received Mi's fabricated explanation that it was for a confidential street dance movie project for which Amy was being considered. Qu Shiyun readily agreed.

Subsequently, President Mi asked his assistant to purchase four gifts for young women, specifying they were for Qu Shiyun and her three roommates. During the delivery, the assistant, misinterpreting President Mi's earlier remarks about "the next generation," mistakenly inferred that Qu Shiyun was President Mi's daughter, a rumor that quickly spread throughout the school after the delivery person mentioned that the gifts were "from Qu Shiyun's father, President Mi of Yiyu Media."

The rumor reached Ding Dongdong, who became deeply troubled. He confronted Qu Shiyun, questioning whether President Mi's investment in "Almost Famous" was due to their alleged father-daughter relationship rather than the merit of his script. Qu Shiyun seemed perplexed by his concern, simply stating that the positive outcome was all that mattered, regardless of the reason. Ding Dongdong expressed his fear that if the investment wasn't based on his talent, it would undermine his confidence as a writer.

Later, Amy and her roommates received the gifts from President Mi. They were puzzled as Qu Shiyun had never mentioned having such an influential father. Although Qu Shiyun knew the truth about the misunderstanding, her vanity led her to avoid clarifying the situation, merely asking if they liked the gifts.

Episode 19 Recap

As the graduation showcase approached, students gathered to discuss who would play the female lead. Zhang Yiyong openly championed Fang Yali, while Cheng Ming and Qu Shiyun were both eager for the role. Amy, however, seemed indifferent. They turned to Ding Dongdong, the scriptwriter and director of the play, for his opinion. Ding Dongdong stated that Professor Li Shuangbai would make the final decision, but offered his personal evaluations of the candidates.

He noted Cheng Ming's professionalism and hard work over the years, making her a fitting choice for the play, but felt she was too nervous. Fang Yali's ballet skills were exceptional, but she was too shy. Amy's street dance was explosive, yet her focus was often lacking.

When asked about Qu Shiyun, Ding Dongdong simply said she was "quite good," which highly displeased Qu Shiyun, who believed her role as the female lead in the TV version should automatically secure her the part in the graduation performance. Her classmates quietly resumed eating, avoiding further discussion. Suddenly, Amy received a phone call. She was told her mother had returned from the United States and been hospitalized, which shocked Amy. She immediately rushed to the hospital.

She met Wei Feng there, who accompanied her to her mother, Ai Li’s, room. To her relief, Ai Li had only sustained minor scratches from a go-kart collision with a child at a mall. Amy found it amusing and somewhat exasperating that her mother was making such a fuss and insisted on staying for observation. Ai Li then tried to playfully inquire about Wei Feng and Amy's relationship, hinting that Amy's decision to stay was related to him.

When Amy brought up the topic of her father, Ai Li immediately grew agitated, refusing to discuss the past and claiming it had nothing to do with Amy. Frustrated by her mother’s stubbornness, Amy angrily walked out of the room. Wei Feng stayed behind and informed Ai Li that he had met Mi Dongnan. Ai Li then revealed her long-held secret: Mi Dongnan was Amy’s biological father.

She explained that she and Mi Dongnan had been deeply in love, but he was a poor young man while her family was wealthy. When her family arranged for her to study abroad, Mi Dongnan, not wanting to hinder her future, cruelly pushed her away and disappeared. Ai Li, heartbroken and angry, went abroad alone and later gave birth to Amy.

She had kept Amy's father a secret for all these years, fearing that knowing the story of their failed love would disappoint Amy. Ai Li pleaded with Wei Feng not to tell Amy about Mi Dongnan yet, and he reluctantly agreed. Wei Feng found Amy, who was still upset, and tried to console her. Amy admitted her impulsiveness, realizing her mother must be feeling hurt.

She shared her reasons for seeking her father: she had witnessed her strong mother’s hidden sorrow over the years and understood that her mother had remained single out of lingering affection for him. Amy hoped to understand the man her mother couldn’t forget and, if possible, even reconcile them.

Wei Feng gently suggested that Ai Li's hospital stay might have been a desperate attempt to see Amy, especially since the hospital was near the school and Amy hadn't been answering her calls. Amy reflected on this, realizing her mother's deeper intention. Meanwhile, You Zhiqi had finished reading the novel for the movie "Never Let You Go" and was deeply moved by the character Du Chuan.

He felt a profound connection to the role, believing his own childhood experience of being kidnapped and his struggle with nyctophobia made him the perfect fit. Convinced he was the character's true prototype, You Zhiqi went directly to the film set to audition, presenting his unique understanding of Du Chuan to Director Lan. His passionate explanation of how his own suffering mirrored the character's despair and grief successfully convinced the director, and he secured the male lead role.

His manager, You You, was furious to learn that You Zhiqi had agreed to play the role with zero pay. She tried to persuade him to reconsider, arguing that it would damage his image, which appealed to "girlfriend and mother fans," and make it difficult to secure future commercial endorsements. However, You Zhiqi was resolute, stating that fleeting popularity was less important than acting, which leaves a lasting impression.

He insisted he had waited years for such a role and was determined to prove his acting ability, especially since the character's nyctophobia resonated deeply with his own experience. His mind was made up. Back at the hospital, Wei Feng brought local specialty snacks to Ai Li, hoping to mend the rift between her and Amy.

Ai Li playfully asked Wei Feng about his relationship with Amy, teasing him for not having kissed her yet, and encouraged him to be more proactive. Wei Feng promised to always treat Amy well, earning Ai Li's trust. Ai Li then decided to check out of the hospital and asked Wei Feng to take her on a tour of the Starry Arts Academy campus.

At the same time, Qu Shiyun sent a text message to Mi Dongnan, informing him that Amy's mother had been hit by a car and was in the hospital. Shortly after, Amy returned and clarified that her mother was hit by a go-kart, causing Qu Shiyun to quickly send a revised message to Mi Dongnan. Amy noticed Qu Shiyun's strange demeanor but dismissed it.

Zhang Yiyong, observing Ding Dongdong's depressed state ever since the rumor about Qu Shiyun being Mi Dongnan's daughter spread, suspected that Ding Dongdong harbored feelings for Qu Shiyun. Deep in thought about whether to acknowledge Amy, Mi Dongnan, prompted by Qu Shiyun’s messages, made his way to the dance classroom at the academy where Amy was rehearsing a poignant piece about parental love.

He introduced himself as an investor for "Almost Famous" and an alumnus, then asked Amy for directions to the administrative building. Amy was surprised when he used her name, but he quickly covered, explaining that he had learned about her from Professor Li Shuangbai through their collaboration. Amy, delighted, began to guide him, sharing campus stories and listening to Mi Dongnan's nostalgic recollections of the old campus, including a lotus pond and the cafeteria's red braised pork.

As they walked, Amy and Mi Dongnan unexpectedly encountered Ai Li and Wei Feng. The expressions on Mi Dongnan and Ai Li’s faces immediately made Amy realize that Mi Dongnan was her father. Wei Feng quickly led a bewildered Amy away, leaving Ai Li and Mi Dongnan to confront each other. Ai Li, still guarded, claimed she had lived a comfortable life abroad, dismissing his regret for not knowing about her pregnancy.

Mi Dongnan confessed he recognized Amy because she resembled a younger Ai Li and spoke of Amy's passion for street dance, but Ai Li reiterated that their past was over and she and Amy were doing well on their own. Amy was heartbroken and furious that Wei Feng had known the truth about her father all along and kept it from her.

She felt betrayed, seeing herself as a joke in their eyes, especially since she had trusted him above all. Wei Feng desperately apologized, saying he hadn't found the right moment to tell her. Amy declared that if a relationship lacked such fundamental trust, she didn’t want it. In a moment of desperation, Wei Feng confessed his four-year-long feelings for her and then kissed her.

Meanwhile, Qu Shiyun, having learned from Fang Yali that Mi Dongnan was at the school and had spent time with Amy, felt a growing suspicion about Mi Dongnan's true intentions towards Amy.

Episode 20 Recap

Wei Feng encouraged Amy to go meet Mi Dongnan at his office, which helped ease her mood. When Amy arrived, Mi Dongnan was visibly nervous. Amy reassured him, explaining that she only wanted to understand what kind of person her father was, as her mother hadn't told her anything. Mi Dongnan apologized for the suffering she endured over the years, offering to make up for everything.

However, Amy asserted that a father's love and a lonely childhood could not be compensated for. She questioned why he never sought her out and why he had been so heartless to abandon her and her mother. Mi Dongnan explained that Amy reminded him of her young mother, both "egoistic and stubborn," but he never intended to abandon them. He said he was poor at the time but brave in pursuing his dreams.

However, he realized he couldn't provide the future Ai Li deserved, so he chose to let her go, a decision he regretted for a lifetime. He revealed he had cherished a photo of Ai Li for 20 years, always hoping to reunite with her, and discovering Amy's existence brought him immeasurable happiness. He gave Amy the photo, hoping it would not just be a tattered memory in her heart.

Meanwhile, Cheng Ming, Qu Shiyun, and Fang Yali discussed the female lead role for their graduation play. Cheng Ming and Qu Shiyun were both eager for the lead, which put pressure on them. Fang Yali, however, remained indifferent, stating that she merely wanted to perform well in any role that interested her, especially after not getting into the Royal Ballet. During the intense audition process, Cheng Ming, burdened by pressure, didn't perform at her best, which surprised everyone.

Unexpectedly, Fang Yali was chosen as the female lead, while Cheng Ming and Qu Shiyun became other principal actresses. Qu Shiyun was disgruntled and questioned why she wasn't selected. Ai Li, having recovered from a minor car accident, prepared to return to the United States for her various commitments, despite Amy's pleas for her to stay longer.

Amy suggested Ai Li meet with Mi Dongnan again, but Ai Li dismissed it, saying they were "ancient history" and that both were to blame for their past. Amy then showed Ai Li a photo Mi Dongnan had treasured for two decades, expressing her hope that her parents would find happiness and have no regrets. Ai Li admitted Mi Dongnan was handsome but unreliable in the past, and advised Amy to find a reliable partner like Wei Feng.

Just then, Mi Dongnan arrived, engineered by Amy as a "palliative plan," to send Ai Li off. He seized the opportunity to apologize sincerely for letting her go years ago, admitting he was wrong and had stayed in the same place for two decades, hoping she would return. He confessed his desire to give Amy a complete family and pleaded for another chance, creating a poignant and exciting scene for the family.

Amy playfully encouraged her mother to accept, warning that someone else might "steal" her "handsome and rich man" if she hesitated. Mi Dongnan vowed not to let Ai Li go this time, and seeing a potential reconciliation, Amy and Wei Feng left them. Wei Feng then shared his exciting news: Professor Li Shuangbai had offered him a graduate student position in music theatre, a major he always loved but couldn't pursue due to family reasons.

Amy promised her full support for his dream. You Zhiqi joined the production crew for a small, low-budget film titled "Never Let You Go." Despite the director being renowned, funding shortages created tough conditions. Cheng Ming visited him on set, concerned by the hardship, but You Zhiqi was unfazed. He savored the chicken soup Cheng Ming brought, which her father had prepared, finding comfort in her care.

You Zhiqi explained that he was deeply moved by the script and the male lead, Lu Chuan, feeling a strong personal connection that made him believe he was the character's prototype. He had volunteered to act for free, convincing the director with his insights, including his past experiences with "dark fear syndrome." His agent, Youyou, was displeased, viewing the unpaid role as damaging to his career and future commercial prospects, but You Zhiqi was resolute in his commitment.

Meanwhile, after a meeting where Mi Dongnan offered his support for Amy's and Wei Feng's future endeavors, the film's producer, Fang Zheng, burst into Mi Dongnan's office seeking urgent investment. Mi Dongnan, who had not planned for this, asked for the project details to be evaluated. Wei Feng later met separately with Fang Zheng to understand the project further.

He then visited You Zhiqi, commending his changed demeanor and dedication to the project despite the difficulties and his willingness to help with manual labor. You Zhiqi reiterated his commitment, stating he wouldn't abandon the film and would perform his best, determined to raise awareness about PTSD through the film.

Later, Amy and Mi Dongnan were sharing a meal in the school canteen when Zhang Yiyong and Fang Yali spotted them and began speculating that Amy was using an "old man" for connections as a shortcut. Amy confronted them, calling their minds "filthy" and defending Mi Dongnan's appearance. As Mi Dongnan left for a meeting, he casually stated, "Dad will pick up the tab for the next meal."

This revelation stunned Zhang Yiyong and Fang Yali, who realized Mi Dongnan was Amy's father, not Qu Shiyun's, and that Qu Shiyun had previously misrepresented gifts from Mi Dongnan as coming from her own father. Zhang Yiyong was eager to spread the "explosive news," but Amy implored him not to, fearing the negative impact on Qu Shiyun, with whom they had shared a dormitory for years.

Though Zhang Yiyong initially agreed to wait until after graduation, he couldn't keep the secret and later told Ding Dongdong. Ding Dongdong was astonished but also felt a surge of excitement, interpreting it as validation of his creative perception that Amy had achieved success independently, not through connections. Cheng Ming struggled with her disappointment at not securing the female lead role, especially after declining another opportunity from Director Lin.

You Zhiqi comforted her, reminding her of her unique talent and the importance of all roles, not just the lead. He shared his own feelings of powerlessness as his film's production had halted due to lack of funds, despite his desire to raise awareness about PTSD through it. He encouraged her, saying that even if she wasn't the lead, she should excel in her assigned role for herself.

Reinvigorated by his words, Cheng Ming resolved to dedicate herself fully to her character and began rehearsing with You Zhiqi, both of them embracing their dreams and the hard work required to achieve them.

Episode 21 Recap

You Zhiqi and Cheng Ming spent the night together in the rehearsal room. Cheng Ming, feeling much better, fell asleep on You Zhiqi's shoulder. Suddenly, You Zhiqi received a phone call, learning that his production team for "No Escape" had secured new investment and would officially resume work that very day. He was overjoyed, and Cheng Ming shared in his excitement, urging him to return to the set immediately.

Meanwhile, back at the dorm, Fang Yali and Amy were discussing Amy finally finding her father. Amy, mindful of Qu Shiyun, kept her voice down, not wanting to cause embarrassment. However, Qu Shiyun overheard the mention of "President Mi" and immediately suspected they were deliberately concealing something from her.

Cheng Ming brought breakfast, but Qu Shiyun, feeling angry and excluded, refused to eat and stormed out of the dorm, making a snide remark about filming President Mi's movie, hinting at her own perceived future success and status. Qu Shiyun was arranged by Bin Ge to be a temporary actress on a film set.

Before filming began, Bin Ge emphasized that it was a significant production with over thirty scenes and urged her to perform well to impress the director, hoping for more roles. However, during filming, Qu Shiyun chose to deviate from the script, explaining that she felt there were issues with the lines and she wanted to "rationalize" them. This decision was driven by her current mindset of disliking the lead actress's seemingly privileged background and deliberate showing off.

The director grew increasingly frustrated with her changes. After two takes, despite Bin Ge's attempts to intervene and ask for another chance, the director fired her, stating that his actors must follow his script. Qu Shiyun tearfully pleaded for another chance, acknowledging her mistake, but the director remained unmoved and ordered her to leave the set. Feeling drained and disheartened, Qu Shiyun returned to campus.

She spotted Ding Dongdong, who deliberately ignored her as he passed by, upset because he felt she had lied to him about Mi Dongnan. Qu Shiyun, further enraged, confronted him, challenging him to ignore her forever if he had the courage. Her mother then called, not to offer comfort or concern, but to demand money for the family.

Qu Shiyun, already at her breaking point, angrily retorted that she wasn't a "money printing machine" and that she had no funds to send. Later, back in the dorm, Qu Shiyun, after much thought, composed a contrite voice message to Bin Ge apologizing for her earlier behavior on set, indicating she had to swallow her pride for the sake of her livelihood. She was interrupted by Amy entering without knocking. Qu Shiyun immediately accused Amy of being "crazy" and eavesdropping.

Amy, taking offense, shot back that she had no need to snoop and asked why Qu Shiyun was acting so strangely. She warned Qu Shiyun not to reject her "face-saving offer" as a classmate, implying there were things she knew but wouldn't say. Qu Shiyun, provoked, retorted that Amy was simply jealous and that President Mi appreciated her abilities. She even dared Amy to get Mi Dongnan to recognize her as a "god-daughter" herself.

Finally, pushed too far, Amy declared, "Mi Dongnan is my father!" Qu Shiyun was stunned, questioning how this could be true. Fang Yali confirmed Amy's words, explaining that she had seen President Mi call Amy his daughter in the cafeteria. Amy then launched into a tirade against Qu Shiyun's vanity, telling her that some things in life, like background, are inherited and can't be gained through effort.

When Qu Shiyun attempted to physically attack Amy, Cheng Ming stepped in to separate them. Qu Shiyun then turned her anger on Cheng Ming and Fang Yali, accusing Cheng Ming of being a hypocritical schemer who manipulated You Zhiqi, and Fang Yali of secretly binging and purging, and stringing Zhang Yiyong along for years.

She passionately expressed her frustration that everyone else seemed to have advantages, whether through wealthy families or successful boyfriends, while she had struggled since the age of eight to get on stage. After her emotional outburst, Qu Shiyun left the dorm in tears, vowing to prove that she could achieve her dreams and be recognized, even without Mi Dongnan's help. Ding Dongdong, having seen Qu Shiyun leave the dorm distraught, followed her to the rehearsal room, concerned.

Qu Shiyun was still angry, but Ding Dongdong, disregarding her mood, went forward and asked her about the Mi Dongnan situation, specifically why she had claimed President Mi was her father. Qu Shiyun fiercely denied ever making such a claim, insisting it was everyone else's "crazy assumption" that was now being blamed on her.

She declared that she, Qu Shiyun, possessed the ability and resources to succeed on her own, having started her career as a child star at eight, and she would prove it to them all. They parted ways angrily. The next morning, Cheng Ming was worried that Qu Shiyun hadn't returned to the dorm all night, wondering if they had "gone over the line" during their argument.

Amy tried to reassure her, saying Qu Shiyun was an adult and would be fine, as they had often argued before. When Ding Dongdong heard this, he called Qu Shiyun, expressing concern for her safety and urging her to return to school, or he would go find her, as it wasn't safe for her to roam alone.

Misinterpreting his concern, Qu Shiyun accused him of making "thoughtless remarks" and lashed out, implying he was a coward for not daring to openly express his feelings for her by saying "I like you." Meanwhile, Cheng Ming attended an interview at the Seahorse Art Group for an internship opportunity. While initially welcomed, the tone of the interview shifted when Director Bai learned that her parents were a teacher and a chef, with no influential background.

He noted that she had needed to take a make-up examination in her first year and stated that he would need to consult with his superiors, emphasizing that their art group only took on the "best interns." At the same time, Fang Yali was coerced by her parents into attending a dinner arranged by her father with Director Bai, the head of the Seahorse Troupe, and his son, Young Master Bai.

Fang Yali's mother was eager for her daughter to make a good impression. During the dinner, Young Master Bai made several inappropriate comments, commenting on Fang Yali's figure and asking her to dance ballet to "assess her basic skills." Despite her mother's insistent urging to perform "Swan Lake," Fang Yali repeatedly refused, stating she didn't feel well.

Growing increasingly uncomfortable and frustrated by their persistent demands, she eventually made an excuse about her phone battery and then abruptly left the dinner, much to her parents' chagrin. Still reeling from her experiences, Qu Shiyun desperately began calling various contacts, seeking acting roles. However, each person she called either hung up or made excuses when she inquired about work. Finally, she called Bin Ge again to apologize for her behavior on set and offer to pay any penalty.

Learning that he was with producer Meng Ge at Dynasty Karaoke, room 888, she asked if she could join them, hoping to make amends and secure an opportunity, as her current situation required more film and television resources. Bin Ge agreed. Upon arriving at the KTV, Qu Shiyun felt out of place and uncomfortable as Meng Ge and the others pressured her to drink heavily.

Bin Ge, instead of protecting her, eventually left, instructing her to stay and make a good impression, hinting that a lead role in a future production could be hers. This made Qu Shiyun realize the danger she was in. Meng Ge then kept Qu Shiyun at the KTV, continuing to ply her with alcohol under the guise of discussing potential projects. Out of desperation, Qu Shiyun continued to drink.

Episode 22 Recap

Qu Shiyun found herself in a perilous situation, being aggressively plied with alcohol by Meng Ge, whose intentions were clearly predatory and who was taking liberties with her. Fearing for her safety, she first tried to reach Ding Dongdong, but his phone went unanswered as he was asleep. Growing more desperate, Qu Shiyun called Cheng Ming, tearfully pleading for help and promising to send her location.

However, before she could, Meng Ge forcibly pulled her away, disregarding her protests and insisting she drink more. Cheng Ming, realizing Qu Shiyun was in grave danger when the call was abruptly cut off after Meng Ge's actions, quickly began to rally their friends. Earlier that day, Cheng Ming had been discussing her disappointing internship interview at Haima Theater with Fang Yali.

Cheng Ming recounted how Director Bai, the interviewer, seemed dismissive, barely looking at her resume and interrogating her about her parents' professions, ultimately rejecting her due to her lack of background. Fang Yali then revealed her own unpleasant encounter with the same Director Bai. Her mother had arranged a dinner with Director Bai, who was a connection, and his son brazenly demanded Fang Yali perform ballet on the spot, causing her to storm out in anger.

Meanwhile, You Zhiqi had just returned to the dorms from his finished drama shoot, much to Zhang Yiyong's excitement. Ding Dongdong was still asleep. Separately, Amy and Wei Feng were discussing Amy's previous argument with Qu Shiyun. Amy felt guilty for exposing Qu Shiyun's lie about President Mi, and Wei Feng suggested she apologize. Amy, however, was still defensive, believing Qu Shiyun should apologize first for misleading everyone.

Just then, Cheng Ming called Amy and, together with Fang Yali, they quickly rallied the other friends, informing them that Qu Shiyun was in trouble at Huangchao KTV, Room 888. Upon hearing the news, all personal grievances were immediately set aside. You Zhiqi rallied Ding Dongdong, who sprang awake in alarm, and all their friends rushed to the KTV to rescue Qu Shiyun.

At the KTV, Meng Ge continued to harass a visibly inebriated Qu Shiyun, forcing alcohol on her and taking liberties. The door suddenly burst open, and their friends rushed in. Seeing Qu Shiyun's distress, Ding Dongdong, furious, immediately pulled Meng Ge away and began to furiously beat him, while Amy quickly started recording the incident on her phone. A bruised Meng Ge then threatened to ruin the Starry Arts students' careers in the industry.

However, his bravado vanished when You Zhiqi stepped forward and challenged him, asking who he was. Recognizing the famous actor, Meng Ge immediately backed down, claiming it was all a misunderstanding. You Zhiqi sternly warned Meng Ge that if he ever touched his friend again, he would ensure Meng Ge would be out of the industry for good. Meng Ge, now completely subdued, hastily left.

After the commotion subsided, Qu Shiyun, safe but shaken, broke down in tears, expressing her fear that her friends no longer cared about her. Cheng Ming reassured her that despite their arguments, they never held grudges. Amy sincerely apologized for her harsh words the previous day, admitting she had crossed a line, but also questioned Qu Shiyun's impulsiveness.

Qu Shiyun explained that her actions were driven by a desire to prove herself, and she apologized for her rashness and for previously letting her friends believe President Mi was her father, admitting she simply wished for such a supportive background. Fang Yali comforted her, telling her she didn't need such extreme measures to prove her worth.

Cheng Ming reiterated that the past was forgotten and promised that from now on, they would always be there for her, a sentiment echoed by all the girls, who reaffirmed their bond as sisters. After their friends gradually departed, Qu Shiyun confronted Ding Dongdong, expressing her hurt that he hadn't answered her calls, making her feel abandoned. He explained he was engrossed in writing a script and hadn't noticed his phone.

He then gently admonished her for putting herself in a dangerous situation. When she retorted, asking why he was lecturing her, Ding Dongdong declared it was "because I care about you." He then formally confessed his feelings, telling her he liked her and promised to always come to her aid and protect her whenever she called. Deeply moved, Qu Shiyun confirmed his promise, and then, in a heartfelt moment, kissed him.

Unbeknownst to them, some of their friends were still nearby, capturing the sweet moment with photos. The next morning, Qu Shiyun awoke with a severe hangover, only to be playfully teased by her friends, who showed her the photos of her kissing Ding Dongdong, making her blush with embarrassment. She acknowledged the previous night as a lesson learned and thanked her friends for their support.

As they ate breakfast, the friends discussed planning a short trip before their graduation play rehearsals consumed their time. Qu Shiyun, despite jokingly suggesting a ten-day trip to Europe, understood their limited schedule and agreed with the idea of a shorter getaway. Coordinated by You Zhiqi and Wei Feng, the friends embarked on their trip to the well-known Faman Manor. Zhang Yiyong, responsible for booking, proudly handled the check-in.

However, he returned with news that instead of the eight rooms they'd reserved, the manor's system had only allocated four rooms—three with large beds and one standard room—due to full weekend occupancy. Zhang Yiyong then awkwardly announced the system's "reasonable" allocation: Cheng Ming with You Zhiqi, and Amy with Wei Feng. This sparked an immediate uproar from the girls, who accused Zhang Yiyong of intentionally manipulating the situation.

Ding Dongdong, hopeful he might be paired with Qu Shiyun, had his fantasy quickly dashed by Zhang Yiyong, who told him Qu Shiyun was assigned with Fang Yali. Cheng Ming quickly took charge, proposing that the four girls share the standard room, leaving the three big-bed rooms for the boys to figure out.

The girls, excited by the prospect of a slumber party, reminisced that they had never slept together in the same bed during their entire four years of university and planned to push their beds together, cherishing this last chance before their graduation project. Despite their plans to sleep together, the friendships were quickly overshadowed by budding romances during the day. Amy declared her need for personal time and went to Wei Feng's room, where they enjoyed the spacious comfort.

Soon after, Cheng Ming received a message from You Zhiqi and also left to meet him. You Zhiqi had made up a story about visiting a powerful ancient temple to pray for career and marriage, but his true intention was simply to spend time walking with Cheng Ming. Their stroll unexpectedly led them to a cow breeding farm.

The excited farm owner, recognizing You Zhiqi as a celebrity his daughter admired, insisted they take a tour of the cow shed and even asked You Zhiqi to pose for photos with one of the cows for his daughter, which they awkwardly agreed to. This left Qu Shiyun and Fang Yali alone in their room. Inspired by Ding Dongdong's successful confession, Zhang Yiyong sought his help to declare his feelings for Fang Yali.

Ding Dongdong, as a good friend, helped him pick a secluded, scenic spot and even offered some eloquent lines, which Zhang Yiyong tried to practice, though he felt they sounded unoriginal. Qu Shiyun brought Fang Yali to the designated spot, and Ding Dongdong quickly ushered her away, leaving the couple alone. Zhang Yiyong, overcome with nerves, stumbled over his rehearsed speech, making Fang Yali laugh.

Abandoning the prepared lines, he spoke from his heart, confessing his deep affection and swearing on the nearby lake that he truly loved her. He then dramatically produced a plastic rose he had hidden and asked her to be his girlfriend. Fang Yali, who had long awaited his confession, playfully chided him for his minimalist romantic gesture in the windy, rustic setting, but ultimately accepted, telling him he'd have to make it up to her later.

Overjoyed, Zhang Yiyong enthusiastically embraced and spun her around, exclaiming that he finally had a girlfriend. Watching from a distance, Qu Shiyun teasingly complained to Ding Dongdong about his lack of a rose during his own confession, playfully demanding roses from him. With all four young couples finding love, they shared a toast, affirming their renewed confidence to pursue their dreams, with Zhang Yiyong vowing to support Fang Yali's graduation production. Amy and Wei Feng reaffirmed their joint path towards teaching, and You Zhiqi and Wei Feng celebrated their new venture as movie investor and star, respectively.

Episode 23 Recap

The friends gathered to discuss their aspirations after graduation. Ding Dongdong shared his hope for the graduation play to be a success, leading to its adaptation into a film, which would bring him closer to his dream of becoming a director. Qu Shiyun playfully requested a role in his future film, a suggestion Ding Dongdong gladly accepted, and their friends commented on them being a well-matched director and actress.

Meanwhile, Amy wanted to see Wei Feng, who rarely showed signs of intoxication, drunk, and everyone else enthusiastically agreed. When the group realized they were out of beer, Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi volunteered to retrieve more from the cellar. As the cellar was dark, Cheng Ming suggested You Zhiqi wait at the top of the stairs while she went down alone.

However, a sudden scream from Cheng Ming, who fell to the ground in the dark, prompted You Zhiqi to rush down without hesitation. In that moment, he realized he was no longer afraid of the dark, empowered by his concern for Cheng Ming, and believed his recovery was only a matter of time.

The following morning, Ding Dongdong, sporting dark circles under his eyes, recounted his restless night, complaining that Zhang Yiyong had repeatedly kicked him out of bed and later clung to him like an octopus. He humorously revealed that Zhang Yiyong had been talking in his sleep, professing eternal love for Fang Yali as his lifelong idol. Fang Yali, overhearing this, feigned ignorance with embarrassment, while Zhang Yiyong continued to show his affection by bringing her breakfast.

You Zhiqi's film, "Never Let You Go," had a successful preview screening. Despite being a small production, its unique concept, focusing on the problem of PTSD, and You Zhiqi's exceptional performance garnered significant praise from industry professionals. Many predicted the film's success and potential awards, restoring You Zhiqi's reputation. His manager, You You, confidently entertained collaboration offers from directors eager to work with You Zhiqi, ensuring that future projects would come with appropriate compensation for his time.

Back at the university, Ding Dongdong announced a major revision to the graduation play's script. After consulting with the professors, he had decided to rework it so that every student would have a significant role, ensuring everyone felt like a protagonist. This news was met with excitement by most, though Fang Yali, who was initially the sole female lead, felt a pang of disappointment despite still being a central figure in the re-imagined production.

The pressure on her intensified, particularly after a phone call from her mother, who, having heard she was no longer the sole female lead, scolded her for causing embarrassment to the family and prioritizing her own feelings over their reputation. Fang Yali, already overwhelmed, retaliated by accusing her mother of always caring more about "face" than her daughter, before hanging up the phone in distress.

Cheng Ming later found Fang Yali in tears and offered comfort, reassuring her of her talent and telling her not to succumb to excessive pressure. As rehearsals for the graduation play intensified, Fang Yali's anxiety mounted. Despite her strong background in dance, the musical format presented a new challenge, and she felt immense pressure not to let her classmates down. Zhang Yiyong patiently offered words of encouragement, while Cheng Ming reminded her to believe in herself.

You Zhiqi shared a personal trick for handling stage fright, advising her to imagine she was simply in a practice studio rather than performing for an audience. However, during a full rehearsal, as the spotlight illuminated her on stage, the cumulative weight of expectations and self-doubt overwhelmed her, triggering a cascade of past criticisms and encouragements in her mind, causing her to faint. Fang Yali was quickly attended to and diagnosed with low blood sugar and extreme stress.

After regaining consciousness, she reflected on her life, recalling how her mother had always pushed her to excel, even making her achieve top academic marks as a condition for pursuing her passion for ballet. Realizing the immense pressure she constantly felt, Fang Yali made a decisive choice: she would step down from the finale of the graduation project. She explained that she wanted to ensure the play's success and prevent her personal struggles from affecting the collective effort.

While her classmates expressed regret, they also understood her decision. You Zhiqi then encouraged Cheng Ming to pursue the lead role in the finale, reminding her that her passion and hard work for the stage were undeniable, even if she had struggled in previous auditions. Inspired by his belief in her, Cheng Ming decided to give it her best shot. Meanwhile, Zhang Yiyong continued to provide steadfast support to Fang Yali.

She confided in him about her mother's persistent control and her desire to forge her own path. Zhang Yiyong assured her of his belief in her bravery and promised her that her hard work would eventually lead to fulfillment. Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun envisioned their shared future: he as a renowned director and she as a celebrated actress, accepting awards together, with Ding Dongdong promising she would always be the female lead in his heart.

Wei Feng and Amy also shared a harmonious relationship, with more casual expectations for the future, as they were both financially secure, and Wei Feng was even an investor in "Never Let You Go." You Zhiqi also shared with Cheng Ming how she had been his guiding light during his most painful moments of illness, vowing to always support her and be in the audience for every one of her performances.

On the day of the graduation photo shoot, Fang Yali was surprised to see her mother arrive. Anticipating a lecture, she pulled her mother aside. However, her mother, after speaking with Fang Yali's professors, unexpectedly apologized for misjudging her about the play and for the immense pressure she had placed on her throughout her life. A tearful reconciliation ensued, and Fang Yali joyfully revealed that she had passed the preliminary examination for the Royal Academy of Dance in the UK.

Her mother, ecstatic, immediately pulled out her phone to take celebratory photos. In a separate meeting, You Zhiqi received the best news: his doctor, Zhou Yuan, confirmed his complete recovery from his condition. The doctor also shared that his research paper on You Zhiqi's case would be published in "The Lancet." As the graduation musical was about to begin, proud parents gathered in the audience, including Cheng Ming's mother, who watched her daughter perform with deep emotion. You You and Xiao Liu were also there, offering their support to You Zhiqi.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

The graduation performance began with Cheng Ming, standing in the spotlight, delivering a heartfelt opening monologue about the journey of pursuing dreams. She spoke about how most people are ordinary but work tirelessly towards their aspirations, enduring endless rehearsals and sacrificing much. She concluded by defining genius as one percent talent and ninety-nine percent hard work and sweat, encouraging everyone to pursue their unique dreams for a wonderful future.

Her mother, seated in the audience, watched with teary eyes, proud of her daughter. The show continued with powerful songs and dances, showcasing four years of university life. Wei Feng played the piano, accompanying Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi's duet. Fang Yali displayed her exceptional dance skills. Her mother, who had recently reconciled with her, watched with pride. Amy performed a dynamic street dance, captivating Mi Dongnan.

Ding Dongdong and Qu Shiyun emerged from the audience, their singing drawing everyone into the rhythm. The performance culminated in a group chorus, leaving a profound impression on the audience. Later, Qu Shiyun called her mother to apologize for her recent attitude. Her mother reassured her, explaining that she had saved the money Qu Shiyun sent, not out of greed, but because she worried her daughter would spend it carelessly.

Qu Shiyun, touched by her mother's care, urged her parents to spend the money on themselves, saying she could earn more. Her mother lovingly advised her to be happy and enjoy life with her friends. Meanwhile, Mi Dongnan and Wei Feng congratulated Amy on her successful performance. Mi Dongnan remarked on seeing his younger self in her and her classmates' dedication. Amy then seized the opportunity to ask about the "Almost Famous" film adaptation.

Mi Dongnan happily announced that the project had been unanimously approved and launched right after the graduation show. He also revealed his intention to offer Qu Shiyun an important role, delighting Amy, who eagerly went to share the good news with her friend. After the performance, You Zhiqi happily embraced Cheng Ming in the hallway, celebrating her success. Cheng Ming's mother witnessed their embrace.

Cheng Ming tried to explain, but her mother, pleased by the sight, invited You Zhiqi to their home for dinner. You Zhiqi, playful, called her "Mom," and Cheng Ming's mother didn't object, remarking that a little practice for the future was perfectly fine. Back in the dressing room, Qu Shiyun was still feeling anxious about her future, particularly given her lack of connections. Her friends, led by Amy, then burst in to congratulate her.

Cheng Ming excitedly told Qu Shiyun about the important role awaiting her in the "Almost Famous" film adaptation. Overwhelmed, Qu Shiyun shed tears of joy, feeling her hard work had finally been recognized and her future was no longer uncertain. At a graduation celebration, the friends shared their aspirations. Cheng Ming wished her future self to remain kind, honest, and persistent.

You Zhiqi publicly declared his commitment to Cheng Ming, promising to always treat her well, which sparked shouts for them to marry. Amy, now "Mrs. Wei," humorously stated she didn't need a dream since she had both a rich husband and a rich father. Qu Shiyun expressed her ambition to become a popular star, while Ding Dongdong aimed to be a famous director. Zhang Yiyong aspired to be a top agent, but most importantly, the man behind Fang Yali.

Fang Yali, in turn, declared her dream to finally become her true self. Ding Dongdong initially referred to the gathering as a "farewell dinner," but the others corrected him, insisting they would always find ways to meet and collaborate. They then raised a toast to their "never-ending youth." Later that night, the four girls returned to their dorm, feeling the bittersweet reality of graduation. Cheng Ming commented on how quickly the four years had passed.

Qu Shiyun pulled out a photo taken by Ding Dongdong during their freshman year. They reminisced, laughing at their younger selves and teasing each other about their appearance back then. They mused about their future, with Qu Shiyun declaring she would go wherever a role called her. The next morning, Cheng Ming woke up disoriented, ready for rehearsal, but Amy and Qu Shiyun reminded her that they had already graduated.

They then discovered a letter left by Fang Yali, who had departed early for London to attend a final audition for the Royal Ballet. In her letter, Fang Yali poured out her feelings, thanking her friends for the laughter, tears, and invaluable friendship over the past four years. She specifically highlighted Cheng Ming's vitality, Amy's confidence, and Qu Shiyun's bravery, crediting them with giving her the courage to pursue her dreams.

Reading the letter, the girls broke down in tears, sad that Fang Yali had left without a goodbye. They hugged each other, realizing that despite the pain of separation, they must bravely embark on their new journeys and strive to achieve their dreams. As their paths diverged, Zhang Yiyong accompanied Fang Yali to England. You Zhiqi went to find Cheng Ming.

Ding Dongdong, left alone in the now empty dorm room, reflected on their four years and how each of his friends had grown and found their path, expressing gratitude for their friendships. Cheng Ming and You Zhiqi later met. Qu Shiyun found a signed doll that You Zhiqi had given Cheng Ming when they first met. Cheng Ming, who had long believed it lost, then showed it to You Zhiqi. Its reappearance felt like a dream.

You Zhiqi confessed that meeting her had transformed him from a lonely person afraid of the dark into someone filled with hope and light. Cheng Ming, in turn, thanked him for his constant encouragement throughout university. She admitted that falling in love with him, a famous star, had initially scared her, and she had worked tirelessly to be worthy of standing by his side.

You Zhiqi then expressed his desire for them to stay together until they grew old, promising they would never separate. Cheng Ming, deeply moved, agreed. Four years of university had concluded, marked by successes, failures, happiness, and sadness, but most importantly, the unwavering pursuit of dreams. Now, embarking on new journeys, Cheng Ming and her friends were ready to work hard for new hopes, bidding farewell to their university and the chapter of their lives it represented.
