All I Want for Love Is You Episode 30 Recap
> All I Want for Love Is You Recap
Xiaoman, troubled by what she had learned, decided to have a direct conversation with Zuo An. Her friends had warned her about Anning and the photo in Zuo An's wallet, emphasizing that Zuo An was not the type to play games, yet also acknowledging that boys can be tricky. When Xiaoman finally met Zuo An, she made him squat down to assert her authority, demanding to know why he hadn't told her earlier about his impending departure.
Zuo An explained that he had only just found out himself. Their school had an exchange program with Berkeley University in the US, offering not only study opportunities but also participation in experimental activities and a chance for postgraduate recommendation upon returning to China. His mother had already signed him up, but the other spot was given to Anning. Zuo An expressed his hesitation, reminding Xiaoman of their shared desire to study abroad together.
Xiaoman, however, insisted he seize the "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," acknowledging that going abroad was impossible for her. She dismissed Anning's presence, stating that as long as Zuo An's intentions were firm, she would approve of his going, even with Anning. Then, she confronted him directly about the photo of a young girl in his wallet, demanding to know why it wasn't a picture of her. Zuo An, clearly flustered, promised to explain everything and immediately left to find Anning.
Zuo An confronted Anning, confirming that she had replaced Anxin's photo with her own when she found his wallet. He thanked Anning for her past feelings but made it clear that he was with Gu Xiaoman. He recounted how Xiaoman, just half an hour prior, had given her blessing for him to go to the US with Anning, her eyes filled with trust and encouragement.
For that trust, Zuo An declared, he could no longer hide anything from Xiaoman and intended to confess everything. He then returned to Xiaoman, who was anxious about his sudden departure. Zuo An explained the long-standing burden of Anxin's death. He confessed that while he didn't directly cause her death, he had always felt responsible, believing the accident could have been avoided if not for him. Xiaoman, realizing the immense psychological pressure he had carried for years, comforted him.
Zuo An further revealed that he had finally come to terms with his mother's instinctive reaction to save him, acknowledging her own suffering after resigning from her public office and moving to the US alone. Xiaoman thanked him for sharing his truth and for choosing her. Zuo An, in turn, thanked Xiaoman, calling her the "sunflower" of his life and affirming that their time together had been the happiest of his life. He confessed his love for her.
Meanwhile, Anning's mother tried to comfort her daughter, who was clearly still distraught over Zuo An, despite pretending otherwise. Her mother assured her of support for any choice she made regarding the exchange program, reminding Anning of her sister. Anning, however, remained resolute in her internal thoughts, vowing never to let Zuo An leave her, regardless of Xiaoman or her sister. The next morning, Xiaoman woke early to accompany Shen Chenyang for his check-up.
She playfully nudged Zuo An, who had stayed over, and they joked about their sleeping arrangements and whether Xiaoman was jealous of his impending trip with Anning (which she denied). When Xiaoman tried to get Shen Chenyang moving, he was deliberately slow, making jokes and asking her to sit with him longer, despite their appointment with Xu Fei. Frustrated, Xiaoman playfully pushed him. Shen Chenyang stumbled onto the sofa, complaining of chest pain.
Xiaoman initially dismissed it as another one of his dramatic antics, but when he fainted, she realized the severity of the situation. At the hospital, Xu Fei informed them that Shen Chenyang's condition had worsened significantly. The surgery should have been performed two years prior, and his heart was now in a state of failure, requiring immediate intervention.
Shen Xiyue, Shen Chenyang's sister, desperately offered money for a heart source, but Xu Fei explained that it was a matter of scarcity, not cost, as a heart source meant another life had ended. Both Shen Xiyue and Xiaoman were deeply worried. Xu Fei informed them that over fifty patients in the city were awaiting similar surgeries, and currently, only Wuhan and Zhengzhou had potential donors, with transport taking several days.
He advised Zuo An and Xiaoman to return home, emphasizing that Shen Chenyang's priority was rest. Shen Chenyang, upon waking, refused to see Xu Fei, insisting only on Xiaoman's presence. He continued his playful, possessive behavior towards Xiaoman, even making a joke about his "bet" with Zuo An, hoping to live to compete for Xiaoman. Zuo An reminded him of their oath as medical students to prioritize life, genuinely wishing for Shen Chenyang's recovery.
Later, while studying, Xiaoman told Zuo An she now wanted to specialize in cardiac surgery, initially influenced by Shen Chenyang's situation, but then feeling it was a genuine calling. Zuo An playfully praised her future as a "Dr. Gu" and then decided he would also choose cardiac surgery, joking it would make it easier for him to "check on her."
He reassured Xiaoman about Shen Chenyang's chances of survival, emphasizing the hospital's expertise and Shen Xiyue's relentless efforts to find a donor. Despite the reassurance, Xiaoman remained anxious, but Zuo An reminded her about their upcoming exams and the importance of focusing. Taking a break from studying, Zuo An playfully "recharged" Xiaoman with a kiss, and they discussed future plans. Their moment was interrupted by cries for help. They rushed to find a little girl drowning.
Zuo An froze, his past trauma regarding Anxin surfacing. Xiaoman urgently encouraged him, reminding him, "She is not Sun Anxin." Her words spurred him into action. Zuo An bravely rescued the girl, and afterward, Xiaoman comforted him, affirming that he had finally overcome his past, becoming truly free from the shadow of Anxin. Zuo An acknowledged her crucial role in his healing process, expressing profound gratitude.
After their exams, Xiaoman was distraught, comparing her answers with Zuo An's and realizing how different they were. She pessimistically concluded she would either barely pass or fail entirely, expressing envy for Zuo An's academic prowess despite their similar routines. With Zuo An scheduled to leave in half a month, Xiaoman grew tearful, dreading his absence and fearing she wouldn't cope with her studies or graduate without him.
Zuo An reassured her, promising remote tutoring and emphasizing that consistent study leads to mastery, assuring her she would become an excellent doctor. Xiaoman felt a bit better and vowed to work hard. As they walked on campus, Anning approached them, ostensibly to inform Zuo An that their departure for the US had been moved up by ten days.
She explained that their fathers wanted them to arrive early to attend the Biology and Medicine Cross-Boundary conference at Berkeley University, an event attended by top world experts. Anning then deliberately detailed how their families had rented a two-bedroom apartment near the university, and she had already ordered bedding and living essentials for them, asking if Zuo An needed anything else. Xiaoman instantly recognized Anning's words as a blatant act of provocation and a show of force.
Xiaoman later expressed her frustration and jealousy to Zuo An, who admitted to a slight feeling of pride but quickly apologized. Xiaoman was particularly upset about the prospect of him living with Anning. Zuo An explained his mother's request for him to look after Anning in an unfamiliar country, acknowledging that while he wasn't stingy, he also felt uncomfortable about the situation.
