All I Want for Love Is You Episode 2 Recap
> All I Want for Love Is You Recap
Xiaoman meticulously recorded the embarrassing moments she shared with Zuo An in her diary, specifically noting his unexpected intervention on her behalf that day. Although Zuo An generally remained aloof, his willingness to speak up for her deeply resonated with her. After finishing her entry, Xiaoman contentedly hid her diary away. She then fell into a daydream, imagining a dramatic encounter with Zuo An, only to be jolted awake by the sudden realization that she had started her period.
Rushing out to the supermarket for sanitary pads, she unexpectedly ran into Zuo An, who was browsing for a pen. Her embarrassment intensified when she discovered she had forgotten her wallet, but Zuo An, observing her predicament, stepped in and paid for her items. Xiaoman quickly took the sanitary pads and fled in disarray, while Zuo An remained, gazing at his newly purchased pen. At home, Zuo An’s father returned, beaming with joy.
He had just learned that Zuo An was recommended for admission to Nandu Medical University, a top medical school in the country from which Zuo An’s father, mother, and Uncle Sun had all graduated. Zuo An’s father had always hoped his son would achieve great success and attend this prestigious institution. Zuo An, upon returning to his room, silently affirmed to himself that he must become a doctor, believing it to be his destiny.
The next day at school, Xiaoman grappled with how to return the money to Zuo An but couldn't muster the courage. Zhan Yue, noticing Xiaoman’s preoccupation with Zuo An, expressed his displeasure. He followed Xiaoman out of the classroom and questioned her unwavering infatuation with Zuo An, unable to understand his appeal.
Xiaoman, however, glowed with adoration as she listed Zuo An’s many virtues, praising his academic prowess, good character, handsome appearance, versatility, kindness, integrity, and helpfulness, even describing him as the "light of her life" and a figure straight out of fiction. Zhan Yue grew visibly jealous, proclaiming that if the seemingly arrogant Zuo An could be described as helpful, then he, Zhan Yue, was a "young blood with dignity and honor, the model of Yincheng Middle School."
He then pressed Xiaoman to enumerate his own good qualities, but she struggled to name any. During physical education class, Xiaoman tried to find an opportunity to talk to Zuo An, but her attempts were noticed by Zhan Yue. Annoyed, Zhan Yue deliberately provoked Zuo An, challenging him to a basketball game. Zhan Yue, a skilled athlete, knew Zuo An was not inclined toward sports.
He tried to goad Zuo An into playing by calling him a "nerd" and a "coward," asserting that Zuo An was "vulnerable" and would lose without a fight. Though initially reluctant, Zuo An was sufficiently provoked by Zhan Yue's taunts to accept the challenge, agreeing to meet him on the court. Xiaoman then approached Zuo An, urging him to ignore Zhan Yue's provocations and returning the money she owed.
Believing Zuo An would surely lose, she tried to persuade him to back out of the game. Zuo An, in turn, asked Xiaoman who she hoped would win. Xiaoman hesitated, acknowledging Zhan Yue's athletic abilities but ultimately expressing her wish for neither of them to play, stating that such a "game with vindictiveness" was "meaningless." Zuo An simply replied, "I understand," and walked away. On the basketball court, Zuo An and Zhan Yue began their match.
Zhan Yue, leveraging his superior athletic skills, consistently outplayed Zuo An, verbally provoking him throughout the game with taunts about his academic focus and perceived lack of physical prowess. The escalating taunts led to a physical altercation between the two. Xiaoman quickly intervened to break up the fight. Miss Zhao, alerted to the situation, brought Zuo An, Zhan Yue, and other students involved to the disciplinary office.
Miss Zhao initially blamed Xiaoman, labeling her a "fighting queen" who negatively influenced the class. However, both Zhan Yue and Zuo An quickly defended Xiaoman, insisting she was only trying to stop the fight. When Miss Zhao questioned Zhan Yue and threatened him with a serious demerit, Zuo An stepped forward and took full responsibility for the fight, claiming he was the one who initiated it. Director Wang, who was present, declared that Zuo An would receive a serious demerit.
Miss Zhao expressed concern, explaining that a demerit could jeopardize Zuo An's recommendation to Nandu Medical University, as the quota was for students with excellent academic and moral standing. Zuo An, however, appeared unconcerned about his own academic record, showing more concern for Xiaoman. Director Wang, emphasizing the importance of strict punishment for fighting, ordered all involved students to run ten laps on the playground. During the run, Xiaoman, suffering from severe menstrual cramps, collapsed.
Without hesitation, Zuo An disregarded the running order and the presence of teachers, immediately picking up Xiaoman and carrying her to the infirmary for medical attention. Zhan Yue watched the scene, utterly bewildered. Xiaoman awoke in the infirmary to find Zuo An by her side, which brought her immense joy. She then expressed her sympathy for Zuo An, believing he was wronged and had taken the blame for Zhan Yue, whom she thought had started the fight.
Zuo An, however, corrected her, explaining that he was disappointed in himself for losing control and resorting to violence after losing the basketball game, admitting it was his fault. Xiaoman praised him as a "hero" capable of controlling his anger even in moments of rage. Zuo An then told her that she didn't truly know him and asked her not to interfere or "do anything" on his behalf in front of their classmates, as he didn't need it.
After school, Xiaoman's father arrived, expressing his anger and disbelief that his daughter had been unfairly punished. Miss Zhao repeatedly apologized to him. As Zuo An's father also arrived, Xiaoman, fearing Zuo An would be scolded, attempted to explain that the fight was her fault and stemmed from her. Zuo An swiftly interrupted her, trying to distance himself by stating they were "not very familiar."
Zuo An’s father reprimanded Zuo An for his rude behavior and demanded he apologize to Xiaoman, but Zuo An refused, claiming it was "not necessary." Zuo An’s father then took him home. At home, Zuo An's father scolded him for risking his university recommendation. He stated that if the recommendation was revoked, Zuo An would have no choice but to study in the United States. Zuo An remained silent throughout his father's lecture.
Meanwhile, Xiaoman, heartbroken by Zuo An’s cold public dismissal of their connection, vented her sadness by hitting a sandbag. Unbeknownst to her, Zuo An had created distance between them to protect her from facing further trouble and harm.
