He also stated he would ask his father, Nie Dongyuan, to limit his visits to Sun Ping to avoid any further distress, and urged Tan Jing to speak with Sun Zhijun about the same, emphasizing that Sun Ping's health was paramount before the surgery.
Nie Yusheng held Tan Jing's hand and told her not to worry, assuring her that they would get through this together. That evening, Sun Zhijun reflected on how his life had turned out, even questioning if he should thank Nie Dongyuan for the circumstances that led him to have his wife and child.
