Lin Sen went to the kendo dojo to find Yuan Lang, seeking a way to calm himself. He confessed his worry about making a commitment to Ye Zi, fearing his feelings might not be what she truly wanted and could jeopardize their years of friendship. Yuan Lang, who had also experienced nervousness when proposing to Zhu Xuan, understood Lin Sen’s apprehension.

He advised Lin Sen that his biggest problem was a lack of inner peace, and only by finding it could he clearly see what he truly desired. Lin Sen agreed and began his kendo practice. Meanwhile, at the singing competition finals, Ye Zi and her friends, Zhu Xuan, Liu Xinran, and Cheng Xi, were backstage preparing. The girls worried if Xiang Zeyi would even show up. Despite her friends' suggestions to withdraw, Ye Zi affirmed her decision to perform.

Xiang Zeyi arrived just before their turn, and the staff handed them microphones before they went on stage. Xiang Zeyi began to sing, but when it was Ye Zi's turn, she froze, unable to utter a single note. The audience began to murmur, questioning why she wasn't singing. Overwhelmed, Ye Zi eventually dropped the microphone and hurried off stage.

Zhu Xuan, concerned, yelled for Xiang Zeyi to stop singing and go after her, but staff members intercepted him to sign in. Zhu Xuan followed Ye Zi, and on her way, she overheard Xu Wenjie mocking Ye Zi, saying she shouldn't sing if she couldn't handle it. Enraged by the insults, Zhu Xuan confronted Xu Wenjie, and the two began to fight. Despite being outnumbered, Zhu Xuan held her ground until Yuan Lang arrived and separated them.

Yuan Lang then led Zhu Xuan to a secluded spot to tend to her injured nose. Zhu Xuan took the opportunity to offer him a handmade red string bracelet. However, when Yuan Lang hesitated to accept it, Zhu Xuan misinterpreted his silence as disinterest and, hurt, threw the bracelet on the ground before running back to her dorm. Unknown to her, Yuan Lang secretly picked up the bracelet and kept it. Back in the dorm, Ye Zi was crying inconsolably.

Liu Xinran, Zhu Xuan, and Cheng Xi rallied around her, comforting her and pulling out a hidden stash of beer. They resolved to drink away their troubles. After consuming a significant amount, the four girls became thoroughly drunk and ventured out into the campus, yelling and venting their frustrations. They eventually settled on a patch of grassland, with Ye Zi and Zhu Xuan loudly proclaiming that "men are the worst creatures in the world."

Concerned for Ye Zi, Lin Sen found them and gently carried a now-unconscious Ye Zi away. As they walked, Xiang Zeyi appeared and demanded that Lin Sen put Ye Zi down, but Lin Sen ignored him, continuing to carry Ye Zi back to her dorm. A drunken Ye Zi mumbled Xiang Zeyi’s name, a sound that deeply pained Lin Sen, who then left Ye Zi in the care of her friends.

Later, in his art studio, Xiang Zeyi, still seething with jealousy, angrily kicked over a painting stand, ruining his own artwork. Just then, Ye Zi entered, carrying a newly bought iPod. She declared that they were now "even," implying the iPod settled her debt to him. Xiang Zeyi, however, refused it, stating that what she owed him could never be repaid.

Frustrated, Ye Zi threw the iPod out the window, stating she was tired of playing his games and wanted to leave. Xiang Zeyi then pulled her into a sudden kiss, stunning her. Shocked, Ye Zi pushed him away and ran off. As she fled, Xiang Zeyi called out, declaring that she was now his and couldn't shake him off. Years later, Ye Zi finished heating some food in the microwave.

Her friends Zhu Xuan, Liu Xinran, and Cheng Xi arrived with hot pot ingredients, announcing that their collaborative painting project had passed. The women celebrated with hot pot, reminiscing about their drunken college night. Ye Zi, who had blacked out that night, questioned Zhu Xuan about her peculiar behavior.

Zhu Xuan confessed that her strange actions were due to Yuan Lang and her failed attempt to give him the bracelet, proudly adding that now, Yuan Lang was "firmly in her grasp." Meanwhile, Yuan Lang visited Lin Sen, who was working late at the hospital, bringing him a meal. They too spoke of their college days and that memorable night of heavy drinking.

Lin Sen admitted that he had once believed that never getting drunk was a good thing, but now he wished he could have been foolish just once, hinting at the painful memory of having carried Ye Zi that night only for her to call Xiang Zeyi’s name. Yuan Lang, who had witnessed Lin Sen's emotional state that night, asked him about it.

Lin Sen vaguely replied that there are some words one holds in their heart for so long that they only find the courage to say once, regardless of whether the other person understands. Yuan Lang then confided that he had always kept the handmade bracelet Zhu Xuan had thrown away that night, admiring her unique spirit and how she was the first and only person to make his heart race. Both men shared a knowing smile, acknowledging the distance between their past and present.
