Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, nervously waited for Qiao Nan, who was in her body, at the KTV. When Qiao Nan finally arrived, he immediately accused Mu Xiangxiang of tricking him into coming. Mu Xiangxiang countered that he was trying to prevent them from being exposed and studied, but Qiao Nan simply called her selfish. Their argument was cut short by Qiao Rui's entrance. Qiao Rui, Qiao Nan's older brother, asked "Nannan" why he was lingering outside.
Mu Xiangxiang, pretending to be Qiao Nan, introduced Qiao Nan, in her body, as a classmate. Qiao Nan, being blunt, interrupted Qiao Rui’s pleasantries, stating her name was Mu Xiangxiang. Qiao Rui recognized her as the "feisty" girl he'd encountered previously. Inside the KTV, Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body, ordered an array of extremely spicy dishes. Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan's body, hastily intervened, reminding him of her body's allergy to spicy food and vinegar.
Qiao Nan begrudgingly allowed Mu Xiangxiang to order plain beef noodles. Misinterpreting their bickering as a lovers' quarrel, Qiao Rui made an excuse about unfinished work and promptly left them alone. Mu Xiangxiang blamed Qiao Nan for almost exposing their secret. Qiao Nan, however, was furious, ranting about Qiao Rui being a "fake good guy" who had lied about staying with him and then abandoned him to study abroad.
He also complained about their father, Qiao Yuanshan, calling him crazy, and their stepmother, Luo Meisheng. Mu Xiangxiang, hearing Qiao Nan’s deep-seated resentment, felt a pang of sympathy and put her arm around him. The next day, Qiao Rui visited Qiao Nan, who was in Mu Xiangxiang's body, at home. Qiao Rui believed that his brother, Qiao Nan, genuinely liked her.
He tried to entrust Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang’s body, with a box of his brother's favorite figurines, explaining their estranged relationship. Qiao Rui expressed his joy that Qiao Nan had recently called him "brother" again, attributing this positive change to Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body. However, Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang’s body, flatly refused to deliver the box, telling Qiao Rui to give it to his brother himself.
Qiao Rui, struck by her strong resemblance to Qiao Nan in both mannerisms and speech, felt he understood why his brother was so fond of her. Later, Qiao Rui took Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, to a bookstore, revealing a specially prepared study area just for him. He even provided headphones preloaded with academic materials and his favorite songs for exercise.
Mu Xiangxiang happily suggested taking a photo with Qiao Rui, who readily agreed, oblivious that his "gentle younger brother" was actually a girl. At the Qiao family home, Qiao Yuanshan became irritated by scattered books. Qiao Rui immediately chided his father, instructing him not to touch anything or make noise, as Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan's body, was taking a mock exam upstairs.
Qiao Yuanshan grumbled to Luo Meisheng, feeling like an outsider in his own home, with his sons being the "real family." He declared his intention to "infiltrate their ranks" using his "clever plan." Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang’s body, later complained to Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, about Qiao Rui's extravagant study setup, calling it an expensive act of kindness. Mu Xiangxiang reminded Qiao Nan to maintain her academic performance, as he was currently living as her.
Qiao Rui and Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, rapidly developed a remarkable tacit understanding. Qiao Rui would anticipate Mu Xiangxiang's needs, such as finding a specific book or replacing his cold water with hot. Witnessing this growing closeness, Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body, grew intensely jealous and internally called Mu Xiangxiang a "heartless woman." Meanwhile, Qiao Yuanshan attempted to bond with his family by making special "Qiao Family Steamed Buns" for breakfast.
Both Luo Meisheng and Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan's body, found them utterly unpalatable. Luo Meisheng, desperate to spare Mu Xiangxiang from eating more, quickly packed a lunchbox for him and urged him to leave for school to avoid being late. Separately, in Mu Xiangxiang's home, her father, Mu Defeng, also made steamed buns for his family. While they were eating, their aunt-in-law arrived, as usual, to demand things.
Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body, could no longer tolerate her manipulative behavior. He confronted the aunt-in-law, accusing her of wrongly demanding compensation for spilled soup, underpaying Mu Xiangxiang's mother, Xiaoyu, at her food stall, and exploiting their family's past hardship by buying their house at a fraction of its value when Mu Xiangxiang was ill. Enraged by Qiao Nan’s accusations, the aunt-in-law retaliated by threatening to increase their rent by 500 yuan a month.
Despite Mu Xiangxiang's parents attempting to calm the situation and silence him, Qiao Nan continued to expose the aunt-in-law's unfair actions. Mu Xiangxiang's parents despaired over their dire financial situation, knowing the aunt-in-law would likely carry out her threat. Overhearing their conversation about their debts and struggles, Qiao Nan felt deep guilt for his impulsive outburst. Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body, wanted to give money to Mu Defeng and Xiaoyu, but realized he had overspent.
He suggested Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, ask Qiao Yuanshan for money. Mu Xiangxiang refused, fearing it would confirm Qiao Yuanshan's suspicion that he was only feigning kindness for money. Mu Xiangxiang then worried that a serious incident had befallen her family, but Qiao Nan lied, claiming the urgent need for money was merely to fix his broken air conditioner. This led Mu Xiangxiang to feel guilty for Qiao Nan’s supposed discomfort.
Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, decided to seek Qiao Rui's help to find a work-study job for a "classmate" (referring to Qiao Nan, who was in Mu Xiangxiang’s body). Qiao Nan, fearing exposure, was initially unwilling to take the job. Mu Xiangxiang then offered to work himself, but Qiao Nan argued that he too would risk exposure.
Qiao Nan suggested Mu Xiangxiang simply take some expensive wine from his family's cabinet to sell, but Mu Xiangxiang firmly rejected the idea, unwilling to steal. Reluctantly, Qiao Nan agreed to take on the work-study position at his family's hotel, also expressing concern about Mu Xiangxiang's (the body's) physical limitations for strenuous work due to asthma and a delicate build.
When Qiao Nan, in Mu Xiangxiang's body, arrived at the hotel with Mu Xiangxiang, in Qiao Nan’s body, for his new job, Qiao Rui had all the employees lined up for an elaborate welcoming ceremony. Mu Xiangxiang was stunned by the exaggerated display, while Qiao Nan dismissed it, recognizing it as typical of Qiao Rui’s style. Qiao Nan then resentfully accused Mu Xiangxiang of having developed a close relationship with Qiao Rui behind his back, labeling her a "heartless woman."
