Zhao Yuanfang accompanied Zhen Nian to the police station after they discovered a hidden camera. As a thank-you, he asked her to treat him to a meal, but Zhen Nian playfully told him he would have to make an appointment and wait. The next morning, Nie Xingchen and Yan Jingzhi met at the elevator.
In Yan Jingzhi's car, Nie Xingchen received an urgent call from Director Huang, informing her that a fire had broken out at the tourist resort construction site. Yan Jingzhi immediately sped to the location. However, upon seeing an injured worker bleeding, he was struck by a series of distressing flashbacks. Noticing his distress, Nie Xingchen rushed to his side, only to be knocked unconscious by a falling brick and taken to the hospital.
As Nie Xingchen lay unconscious, Yan Jingzhi reflected on their shared memories, holding her hand and hoping for her recovery. When Nie Xingchen awoke, she had a slight concussion and could not remember him, allowing Yan Jingzhi to experience the pain of being forgotten. Han Ziyu later informed Yan Jingzhi that his amnesia was likely triggered by intense love, meaning he would repeatedly forget the woman he falls for. Distressed, Yan Jingzhi asked Han Ziyu to keep researching his condition.
Overwhelmed with guilt, he returned to Nie Xingchen’s room, kissed her forehead, and left. When Nie Xingchen awoke again, her memory of Yan Jingzhi had returned. She asked Han Ziyu where Yan Jingzhi had gone, and Han Ziyu informed her that he left after bringing her to the hospital. Nie Xingchen was disappointed and confused, as she clearly remembered his concern for her before she fainted.
Later, Tong Xin and Director Huang visited, informing her that Yan Jingzhi had classified her injury as a "work-related incident" with paid leave, making Nie Xingchen suspect he was avoiding her. Meanwhile, Tong Xin visited Han Ziyu's clinic, saw his colleague Dr. Bai, and used an invitation from Han Ziyu's mother as an excuse to arrange a dinner, forcing him to cancel his plans with Dr. Bai.
Distracted by Nie Xingchen’s injury, Yan Jingzhi inquired about her condition from Director Huang. He then received a false report that Nie Xingchen was missing and rushed to the hospital. Just as he was about to check the surveillance footage, Nie Xingchen appeared, revealing her "boy who cried wolf" trick. Fearing his condition would only hurt her more, Yan Jingzhi tried to push her away by offering a blank check as compensation.
It was then that Nie Xingchen learned the truth about his "love amnesia" and his reason for distancing himself. Han Ziyu later asked Yan Jingzhi what he would do if Nie Xingchen, knowing the truth, still wanted to be with him. Yan Jingzhi replied that he did not want to consume her life and that letting her go was her best chance at happiness.
Meanwhile, Nie Xingchen encouraged Tong Xin, who was happily surprised by a visit from Han Ziyu, to be brave and confess her feelings directly. Later, both Yan Jingzhi and Nie Xingchen were seen reflecting on their time together, with Yan Jingzhi smiling at a photo of them in his wallet, showing his reluctance to let her go. Restless, Nie Xingchen wandered into the hospital corridor and comforted a crying patient.
The woman revealed she had stomach cancer and was planning to break up with her boyfriend, who she was supposed to go to Germany with for their doctorates, to avoid being a burden. Nie Xingchen advised that if it were her, she would not give up on the relationship as long as there was hope and they were willing to face it together. She later returned to work, learning Yan Jingzhi and Zhao Yuanfang were on a business trip.
The office staff surprised Tong Xin for her birthday, but she had to reschedule their celebration as she already had plans with Han Ziyu. Frustrated by Yan Jingzhi’s avoidance, Nie Xingchen was in his office when her mother called to arrange a blind date. Seeing an opportunity, she decided to use the situation to provoke him. She video-called Zhao Yuanfang, who was dining with Yan Jingzhi, and he played along.
They discussed her upcoming blind date on the Qixi Festival, with Nie Xingchen adding a pointed remark that people with bad memories are like ticking time bombs that should be discarded. The jab hit its mark, and an angered Yan Jingzhi abruptly left the table.
