Hua Muyao was dating her boyfriend Wen Jing. Wen Jing took her to a small house by the sea. As soon as they entered, Wen Jing told Hua Muyao that he was going to kidnap her. Wen Jing called Hua Muyao's father, Principal Hua, to demand a ransom of three million. Hua Muyao's fiancé Chen Yanfei wanted to call the police, but Principal Hua refused to call the police, fearing for his daughter's safety.

What seemed strange to Hua Muyao was that Wen Jing often chose to meet her at night. Shen Yi examined the letters Wen Jing wrote to Hua Muyao and took them back to the police station. After multiple investigations, all clues were cut off. Du Cheng believed that something must have gone wrong in one of their investigation stages. Shen Yi also felt that it was impossible for the kidnapper to disappear completely after committing the crime.
