Although he moved, Shen Yi's sleep still didn't improve, dreaming of the little red dress girl again last night. Facing Shen Yi's predicament, Du Cheng wanted to help but couldn't. He knew Shen Yi was filled with self-reproach for not being able to grasp the fleeting strange feeling in time, but Du Cheng was also powerless about it. It was an undeniable fact that Yuan Zhaodi killed three people for love.

Shen Yi always believed this was caused by a devil within Yuan Zhaodi's heart, and he insisted on painting this intangible, elusive devil. Du Cheng, however, felt that everyone has a devil in their heart, but not everyone would kill because of this devil. Shen Yi's painting was exhibited at a youth art exhibition. A person lingered in front of Shen Yi's painting, sighing that it was a pity.

Shen Yi happened to be nearby, so he asked him why he said that. That person said Shen Yi's painting relied increasingly on technique, lacking the sharp perception and surging passion it once had. Regarding Shen Yi being a genius, that person didn't doubt it in the slightest. If Shen Yi hadn't become a police officer, hadn't restrained his perception with boundaries and rationality, then Shen Yi might have been a criminal genius.

This person didn't know Shen Yi but could discern what kind of person Shen Yi was through his paintings. His words touched Shen Yi. Upon returning home, Shen Yi painted a picture based on feeling, then took this painting to the prison to find Yuan Zhaodi. Unexpectedly, Yuan Zhaodi's originally calm expression instantly became fearful and distorted upon seeing this painting, muttering terrifying words like "Auntie is coming to kill me," and "Kill all the useless ones.

" Shen Yi told Du Cheng that the devil and viciousness within Yuan Zhaodi came from her aunt. Du Cheng dismissed it, saying police work is about finding the truth, not conducting social investigations. Shen Yi, however, firmly believed that painting the skin and bones was not important; what he wanted to paint was the human heart. Soon after, another criminal case occurred.

A property manager named Liu Qiang was stabbed at five in the morning and fell unconscious due to severe blood loss. Liu Qiang had a blind son. Liu Qiang had previously published a missing person notice. Comparing the missing person notice, Du Cheng found that the seven-year-old child Li Han mentioned on the phone just now did not match the age of the child in the missing person notice's portrait.

There were surveillance cameras near the crime scene, but they were broken. Some early-rising citizens had seen the killer and had been brought back to the police station to provide assistance. Shen Yi drew a portrait based on the eyewitness descriptions, but he believed the eyewitnesses' memories were contaminated and their descriptions were overly detailed. The police found the person in the portrait, Li Bo, a middle-aged man who made a living selling illegal discs.

Shen Yi had no doubt that the eyewitnesses had seen Li Bo, had a deep negative impression of him, and therefore mistakenly transposed Li Bo's appearance onto the killer in their memories. The portrait was useless; all that remained was a blurry photo of a back view. Shen Yi and Du Cheng went to investigate in the urban village. In an iron cage, they found an injured young boy.

Later, Li Han's investigation confirmed that the young boy was Liu Qiang's son, Liu Xiaopeng. Liu Xiaopeng was covered in old injuries, with traces of new injuries added before old ones had healed. Du Cheng couldn't help but suspect he had been kidnapped and maimed. The five young men arrested at the scene colluded and refused to say anything useful. Xiaopeng was a blind boy, inclined to perceive everything around him with his hands.

Therefore, Shen Yi sculpted small figures of the five young men. When Xiaopeng touched Yun Lei's figure, his expression changed. Shen Yi and Du Cheng went to the hospital to ask Xiaopeng, but he denied that Yun Lei was a bad person. With Xiaopeng's help, Shen Yi drew a convex portrait of the person. After feeling it with his hand, Xiaopeng nodded and said that person was the bad guy.
