Embryo destruction usually requires two people to be present: the lab personnel and the storage manager. They work in pairs, acting as mutual witnesses. In the destruction records from eight months ago, one person was Tang Keying, and the other was named Liu Lian. The police brought Liu Lian back for questioning. Liu Lian said that at that time, one experimental embryo was missing.

Tang Keying said she forgot and would destroy it with the next batch of experimental embryos, so Liu Lian didn't say anything more. Situations like this had happened more than once at Kailai Biological Research Institute. As for whether Fang Kaiyi knew, Liu Lian didn't know either.

The two originally underwent IVF at Hua'an. However, the embryo that was supposed to be destroyed was stolen and taken out of the country by Tang Keying.
