Wu Xie, Fatty, and Pan Zi found themselves trapped by a mechanism, forcing them to scale a stone wall. Just as they caught their breath, they realized the altar below was a sacrifice site for tiger keelbacks, with clusters of snakes writhing beneath them. The wall began to retract, threatening to push them down into the snake pit or onto hidden blades.

Pan Zi first suggested rigging a rope to a statue on the opposite side, but they quickly realized there wasn't enough time or a stable anchor point. Pan Zi then proposed jumping across to the statue, which was at the same height, as their only option. Wu Xie and Fatty attempted the jump. Fatty landed successfully, but Wu Xie slipped, nearly falling. In a flash, Zhang appeared, pulling him to safety before vanishing again.

Fatty, frustrated by Zhang's mysterious disappearances, urged them to find Wu Sansheng. However, the red smoke signal had dissipated, leaving them disoriented. With night falling and the terrain complex, Wu Xie suggested they rest and continue their journey in the morning. Meanwhile, Xie Yuchen emerged from an underground passage, identifying it as a large sewer system that likely led to the Palace of the Heavenly Queen Mother.

The discovery excited the group, but a significant problem arose: all their diving equipment was back at their original camp, which was now a dangerous snake den. Wu Sansheng's hired men expressed reluctance to return to the perilous site, citing concerns about more deaths. Xie Yuchen and Shades volunteered to accompany Wu Sansheng to retrieve the gear, while the less reliable men were told to rest, with a cynical remark from Shades about potentially needing "human shields" later.

Mop and his men, increasingly impatient, overheard Wu Sansheng's earlier conversation and grew suspicious that he planned to abandon them after they'd served their purpose. Mop devised a "luring the tiger out of the mountain" strategy to steal Wu Sansheng's equipment and proceed to the Palace of the Heavenly Queen Mother on their own. However, as Mop prepared to enact his plan, Shades emerged, revealing he had anticipated Mop's move and had already secured all their equipment.

Shades then intimidated Mop's crying men into submission, forcing them to cooperate. As Xie Yuchen and Wu Sansheng journeyed, Xie Yuchen pressed Wu Sansheng for answers about their predicament, sensing they were being manipulated into a larger scheme. Wu Sansheng remained tight-lipped, asserting that he wished to spare Xie Yuchen's generation from the same fate as his own.

Xie Yuchen, however, countered that their actions seemed predetermined, as if they were being lured step by step into a trap, and declared his intention to break free from this arrangement. Wu Sansheng, in turn, questioned whether Xie Yuchen's very decision to participate wasn't also part of the grand design. Back with Wu Xie's group, Pan Zi climbed a tree to scout after hearing a disturbance.

He soon discovered A Ning's body had been moved by the tiger keelbacks to a tree several hundred meters away, suggesting they were near a Snake Mother's nest. Despite the extreme danger, Wu Xie stubbornly insisted on retrieving A Ning's body. As they discussed how to approach, a faint voice calling "Master Xiao San" emanated from A Ning's direction, leading them to believe it was her walkie-talkie.

Just as they felt a glimmer of hope, swarms of tiger keelbacks descended upon them. Pan Zi, thinking quickly, wrapped himself, Wu Xie, and Fatty in military blankets, doused them with alcohol, set them ablaze, and charged through the snakes. Though initially successful, the alcohol quickly ran out, and the snakes, now seemingly herding them, began to surround them. Wu Xie realized the snakes were acting like "herding dogs," driving them towards an unknown destination.

Trapped between the snakes' relentless pursuit and an inability to turn back, they decided to gamble and fight their way out using fire. Amidst the chaos, the mysterious voice repeated, "Who is it?" Meanwhile, Wu Sansheng's group encountered numerous tiger keelbacks, but surprisingly, they were all dead or dying. One barely alive snake managed to bite Shades' foot, but his durable imported combat boots protected him.

Wu Sansheng quickly administered a serum to Shades, who then joked about getting new shoes or cash. Back in the jungle, Pan Zi, still on his reconnaissance mission, went silent. Wu Xie and Fatty, worried, investigated and discovered blood, realizing Pan Zi was no longer in the tree and they were in a full-blown snake nest. As they fought off attacking snakes, a signal flare scared them away, but then a giant, golden python appeared.

Pan Zi, wielding a dagger, re-emerged and heroically stabbed the massive snake in its vital point before collapsing from exhaustion and injury. Realizing Pan Zi needed immediate medical attention, Wu Xie and Fatty desperately carried him, navigating through the dense, unfamiliar forest. Despite losing their map, they pressed on, hoping to stumble upon Wu Sansheng's camp. After a grueling journey, Fatty miraculously spotted Wu Sansheng's campsite.

Wu Sansheng quickly took charge of Pan Zi, disinfecting and stitching his wound without anesthesia, while Wu Xie stood guard outside. Pan Zi, ever the tough guy, endured the painful procedure with a sip of alcohol and a piece of cloth to bite on.
