The news of the "Sen-Lin CP" (Shi Liansen and Lin Lu) allegedly breaking up and cheating spread rapidly online, sparking widespread discussion. Within Sally, opinions were divided. One Sally executive expressed her disdain for a rival, questioning their capabilities and mocking the state of their PR department. The rival retorted by reminding the executive of past public relations crises she herself had caused, stating that for Sally, she was willing to be a "brainy loser."
The executive seethed, believing she had been called brainless. Meanwhile, Yan Zichen, eager to see Fang Qiao, had initially sneaked out of the hospital. Upon spotting her on the street, he quickly returned to his room to prepare a scheme, intending to feign a severe illness for her sympathy. Fang Qiao, before visiting him, spoke with a friend.
She comforted her friend, stating there was no need to feel sorry, then mentioned she had seen Yan Zichen "up and around again" on the street earlier, making her less concerned about his condition, but she still intended to visit him. When Fang Qiao arrived at Yan Zichen's hospital room, he theatrically claimed his condition was dire and could even escalate to stomach cancer. The doctor, appearing to support the act, stated Yan Zichen's condition was "not positive."
However, Fang Qiao was unconvinced; she immediately insisted on more thorough examinations, including an enteroscopy and gastroscopy, for the following morning. Yan Zichen, horrified by the prospect of these unpleasant procedures, quickly tried to retract his claims, asserting that he felt completely recovered just by seeing her. Fang Qiao disregarded his protests and confirmed the examination schedule, leaving Yan Zichen to lament that Lin Lu, at least, had cried for him when he feigned illness previously.
Back at Huanzhen, Lin Lu was trying to figure out her next steps. Earlier, Shi Liansen had deliberately arranged for some snacks to be delivered to her and the staff at Huanzhen, ensuring she had something to eat while she waited for him. She left him a note, humorously reminding him to eat so he wouldn't starve before signing the contract. Separately, Liang Zhi had been secretly helping Lin Lu.
He had found a beautiful apartment with a river view, conveniently located near a subway station, for an incredibly low monthly rent of 1,000. Lin Lu found this suspicious. The real estate agent, pressured by Lin Lu, eventually confessed that Liang Zhi was actually paying the apartment's high market rent and had specifically instructed her to offer it to Lin Lu at the reduced rate.
Shortly after, Liang Zhi met Lin Lu and tried to show her details of a continuation school he had found for her. Lin Lu confronted him about the apartment, acknowledging his kindness but expressing that his excessive help put a lot of pressure on her, making her feel uncomfortable and suggesting his future girlfriend would be jealous. Liang Zhi then confessed his deep feelings, telling her he had loved her for 16 years.
Lin Lu, however, stated that she had always seen him as her best friend and, furthermore, she now had a boyfriend. Liang Zhi was devastated, asking if her rejection was due to Shi Liansen. Feeling that their relationship would become awkward after his confession, Lin Lu decided to move out immediately, thanking him for his care before departing. In a moment of frustration, Liang Zhi uttered Shi Liansen's name.
As Lin Lu hastily packed and left, she inadvertently left her contract behind. Lin Lu, now homeless, was left wandering the streets with her luggage. Shi Liansen, aware of her predicament, had already instructed his assistant, Maggie, to book all hotel rooms in the Forest Park area, effectively preventing Lin Lu from finding accommodation. As Lin Lu walked through a park, Shi Liansen called her. He somehow knew she was there with her luggage.
He warned her about reporters and advised her to find a hotel and hide. Lin Lu, frustrated, explained that all hotels were booked, her phone was dying, and she was lost. Shi Liansen reassured her, telling her to stay put as he was on his way.
Later, sitting alone in the park, Lin Lu tried to engage an older gentleman, offering him kebabs and talking incessantly about how BBQ could cure a bad mood, and wondering why all the hotels were booked. The old man, annoyed by her chatter, was eventually fetched by his wife, who affectionately teased him. As the couple left, the old man complained about Lin Lu giving him a headache with her talking.
Lin Lu was then approached by two thugs who initially dismissed her appearance but quickly decided to rob her for money. When she tried to cry for help, Shi Liansen dramatically appeared, confronting the thugs with the declaration, "Dare to bully my girl?" He quickly scared them off, sending them fleeing. Lin Lu noticed that Shi Liansen had sustained a cut on his hand during the confrontation, but he dismissed it as "just a little cut" that didn't hurt.
