Upon their return to Song Bai, Bai Cao and Chang An are greeted warmly, and Bai Cao distributes gifts brought from Japan. Guang Ya apologizes to Bai Cao for having previously lied about her relationship with Ting Hao to help him join Song Bai. She now encourages Bai Cao to accept Ting Hao, believing it will make him happy, but Bai Cao firmly refuses, stating that feelings cannot be forced.
Ting Hao, deeply unsettled by Bai Cao, finds himself unable to focus on work. Guang Ya gives him Japanese snacks from Bai Cao and advises him to give up, but Ting Hao's affection for Bai Cao remains strong. Chang An diligently devises a new series of competition plans to help Bai Cao accumulate enough points for the National Youth Competition. He experiences a mix of delight and jealousy over Bai Cao's thoughtful gestures before realizing his true feelings for her.
Meanwhile, Flyfish performs a romantic gesture for Xiao Ying, scattering petals and reciting poetry, before proposing marriage. A startled Xiao Ying rejects him and flees. Dejected, Flyfish reflects on his childhood and a promise to a girl, surprisingly finding no heartbreak from Xiao Ying's rejection and resolving to defeat Yi Feng to win her over. He confides in Chang An, inadvertently prompting Chang An to acknowledge his own deepening feelings for Bai Cao. Yi Feng returns from the U. S.
and informs Xiao Ying that he met Yu Hall Master and that Song Bai is facing significant trouble, including the issue of the masked black-clothed person. He mentions representing Yu Hall Master in talks with various venues. Later, Xiao Ying discovers that Bai Cao's application for the London Competition was never submitted, despite her being responsible for it, causing her great distress. Chang An instructs Flyfish to comfort Xiao Ying.
As Flyfish turns, Chang An unexpectedly attacks him with a martial arts move. Flyfish instinctively dodges using a technique Xiao Ying recognizes as identical to the black-clothed person's evasion during a past fight with Ting Hao. Confronted, Flyfish confesses to being the black-clothed person and admits he was the one who overheard and leaked the Tornado triple kick secret to the Kato sisters. However, he adamantly denies any involvement in the London Competition application mishap.
Enraged, the Song Bai members surround and expel Flyfish. Before his departure, Guang Ya reveals to a devastated Flyfish that the cherished necklace he believed belonged to his childhood friend (and which Xiao Ying wore) actually belongs to Bai Cao, meaning Bai Cao was his childhood playmate. Despite these setbacks, Chang An remains committed to creating new competition plans for Bai Cao. Earlier, Bai Cao had visited a temple, where a master advised her to cherish the person in front of her, causing Bai Cao to glance at Chang An.
