Simultaneously, Mi Xue'er sent a message to Wu Julan containing an old photo of him and Bai Yihan.
Surprised, Wu Julan rushed to the beach to find Mi Xue'er and get answers. Mi Xue'er explained that Bai Yihan was her ancestor, and her family often remarked on her resemblance to Bai Yihan. She had stumbled upon Bai Yihan's diary, where she found the photo.
Deeply moved by the love story between Wu Julan and Bai Yihan, who met, fell in love, hurt each other, and sacrificed for one another, Mi Xue'er began to believe she was the story's heroine and fell in love with Wu Julan herself. After revealing this, Mi Xue'er passionately embraced Wu Julan and confessed her feelings, saying, "It's real!" Shen Luo arrived just in time to witness the embrace.

Back at home, Mi Xue'er continued to taunt Shen Luo about her embarrassing display at the bar, attempting to persuade her to abandon her feelings for Wu Julan. After hearing these rumors from Jiang Yisheng, Shen Luo immediately returned home to confront Mi Xue'er. Wu Julan and Wu Jingjing also arrived, and Wu Julan publicly exposed Mi Xue'er's plastic surgery. Mi Xue'er explained that she had suffered severe burns in a childhood fire, necessitating plastic surgery. She admitted to deliberately choosing Bai Yihan's appearance because she envied Bai Yihan's ability to love Wu Julan.
She also claimed that her act of framing Shen Luo for pushing her was entirely because of Wu Julan, citing his initial broken promise to Bai Yihan. As she spoke, she embraced Wu Julan. Shen Luo tried to pull her away, but Mi Xue'er suddenly fainted.
