He Chufeng wanted to acquire the magpie lock and offered to waive his unlocking fee. Meng Ziyang, the curator, contemplated setting a high price for the lock. However, his assistant, Old Han, urged him to sell it quickly due to its "weird" nature, suggesting a reasonable price for mutual benefit, as the valuable item was the collectible inside. Meng Ziyang reluctantly agreed to let his assistant handle the pricing.

Meng Ziyang then informed He Chufeng and Luo Bin that the buyer, Mr. Jin, was a prominent collector who intended to purchase several artworks from the Qianhe Art Museum, including "One & Only," necessitating extreme caution to finalize the lucrative deal. Sui Yi arrived at the museum alongside Ms. Su, Mr. Jin's agent, which surprised He Chufeng and Luo Bin. Ms. Su introduced herself as a lawyer.

When Sui Yi attempted to record the unlocking process for their absent client, Luo Bin stopped her, explaining the highly confidential nature of lock-picking techniques. Sui Yi and Ms. Su understood, agreeing to take notes after the lock was opened. He Chufeng successfully opened the lock. As Meng Ziyang prepared to access "One & Only" with his staff, Ji Xiuyi, the art director, abruptly intervened.

Ji Xiuyi declared that Meng Ziyang lacked the authority to sell "One & Only," clarifying that it was a work by artist Dong Li, entrusted to the Qianhe Art Museum for safekeeping for his lover. Meng Ziyang, asserting his position as curator and Meng Qianhe's son and sole heir, challenged Ji Xiuyi's claim. Ji Xiuyi maintained that the artwork belonged neither to the museum nor to Meng Qianhe, and therefore not to Meng Ziyang, but to Dong Li's lover.

When pressed for the lover's identity and the custody agreement, Ji Xiuyi explained the agreement was likely lost during Meng Qianhe's rushed funeral three years prior, while Ji Xiuyi was abroad. Nevertheless, he insisted on upholding their commitment. Ji Xiuyi then apologized to Ms. Su, stating the artwork could not be sold.

Ms. Su countered by pointing out that a contract for three artworks had already been signed and the initial payment made, making the museum's withdrawal a breach of contract. She expressed hope that the museum would not make things difficult for her client, though she acknowledged that Mr. Jin would not buy an artwork with disputed ownership. She promised to convey Ji Xiuyi's apology to Mr. Jin.

As Ms. Su and Sui Yi prepared to leave, Meng Ziyang attempted to persuade them to stay, offering double Mr. Jin's commission, but Ms. Su politely declined, citing professional ethics. Disregarding everyone, Meng Ziyang proceeded to open "One & Only," revealing a fish bone inside. He Chufeng and Luo Bin were perplexed by the fish bone. Luo Bin, who had initially guessed the artwork might contain Dong Li himself, noted the artist's signature dark style.

He and He Chufeng questioned why hallucinogenic drugs were present on the fish bone and who placed them there. He Chufeng speculated that if Dong Li himself applied the drugs, it was to deter others from opening it, but if someone else did, it signaled a deeper problem. Luo Bin wondered if they should continue their involvement, to which He Chufeng responded that the lock concealed a "huge abyss" that needed to be uncovered.

When Luo Bin asked why He Chufeng was so insistent on buying the lock, He Chufeng simply affirmed his desire. Ms. Su and Sui Yi stayed behind to discuss the situation with Meng Ziyang. Meng Ziyang tried to convince them to proceed, arguing that despite Ji Xiuyi's official title, Meng Ziyang effectively ran the museum because Ji Xiuyi was rarely in China.

He dismissed the existence of Dong Li's lover, reasoning that if she cared, she would have appeared in three years, and claimed no legitimate custody agreement had ever been seen. Ms. Su reiterated that they needed to consult Mr. Jin before proceeding and then departed with Sui Yi.

Meng Ziyang and Ji Xiuyi then engaged in a heated argument, with Meng Ziyang asserting his control over the museum and his father's estate, while Ji Xiuyi countered that Meng Ziyang could not erase Ji Xiuyi's relationship with Meng Qianhe, and that Ji Xiuyi's name was also connected to the Qianhe Art Museum. Separately, He Chufeng's master visited a phone store.

Unable to find a charger for his old phone, he purchased a new 5G model to transfer his data and intended to call He Chufeng. In a phone conversation, Ms. Su informed Sui Yi of Mr. Jin's unwavering desire to purchase "One & Only" despite the complications. Sui Yi volunteered to search for Dong Li's lover, believing the Qianhe Art Museum, which had often auctioned Dong Li's works, would be a good starting point.

Ms. Su, while appreciating Sui Yi's ambition, cautioned her against taking on unnecessary problems, warning that if things went awry, even if not her fault, the blame could fall on her. Sui Yi, though understanding, remained resolute. Later, Ms. Su mentioned Sui Yi in a phone conversation, noting her ambition and remarking that everyone faces struggles in life. Later, Mi Popo shared some rumors with He Chufeng and Luo Bin.

She mentioned that Ji Xiuyi was rumored to be Meng Qianhe's illegitimate son and that he was allegedly connected to the death of Meng Ziyang's mother. Mi Popo, a former semi-figure in the collecting world, revealed she knew these details from her time in the industry. Meanwhile, Luo Bin learned that Lee Wen had discovered his personal information. At home, He Chufeng had left soup for Sui Yi.

She happily consumed it and sent a photo to her mother, Ms. Wu. Ms. Wu, recognizing the non-homemade meal, immediately realized Sui Yi had moved and, concerned about her financial well-being, sent her some money. Sui Yi thanked He Chufeng for the soup and then sought his advice on a professional dilemma: whether to pursue a challenging task despite uncertain and potentially negative consequences.

He Chufeng advised her that if she believed it was worthwhile, she should proceed, as no one could dictate her choices. Sui Yi then confronted He Chufeng about his unpredictable moods, expressing her belief that he was a good person due to his kindness (leaving soup and keys, offering help) and her desire for friendship. He Chufeng, however, abruptly moved closer, gripped her hands, and quietly warned her not to let her guard down on any man easily.

Wang Wenxin, still distressed about his fiancée, Lee Wen, met Luo Bin. Luo Bin informed him that Lee Wen was a perfectly normal individual. However, Wang Wenxin refused to believe it, expressing his anguish that Lee Wen, who once loved him deeply, now remained silent for days even when they were in the same room, making her seem like a stranger. Luo Bin, feeling sympathetic, agreed to continue helping Wang Wenxin.

He Chufeng received a call from Officer Chen, who reported no new information on He Chufeng's master, suggesting the master did not wish to be found. Later that night, He Chufeng's master took a taxi, instructing the driver to circle the riverside before checking into a hotel suite, his hands visibly trembling as he held a drink. Sui Yi, determined to find answers, met with Ji Xiuyi to inquire about Dong Li's lover.

Ji Xiuyi explained he had only seen Dong Li's artworks, never met the artist in person due to Dong Li's reclusive nature, and that Dong Li had only met with Meng Qianhe privately. He admired Dong Li as a true artist for his passionate exploration of space and time, which Meng Qianhe fully supported. However, Ji Xiuyi had no further information regarding Dong Li's real name, burial place, or family.

Disappointed, Sui Yi was about to leave when Wang Qian, a colleague, approached her. Wang Qian expressed admiration for Sui Yi and Ms. Su, and gratitude for her involvement in the Qianhe Art Museum's young talent program. Sui Yi mentioned a "sudden accident" in her current work. Wang Qian then recalled details about Dong Li, remembering him as an alumnus of a project at the Qianhe Art Museum.

Later, Sui Yi found herself frequently sneezing and worried she might be falling ill. Despite confirming her good health and normal temperature, she wondered if her new living arrangements were causing it or if she had an unknown allergy, considering a hospital check-up.
