After a long day, Sui Yi was leaving work, surprised to find He Chufeng still waiting for her. She had asked him to go home earlier, but he told her he waited because she had invited him out. Sui Yi apologized, noting that the restaurant she booked was probably closed by now due to her overtime. He Chufeng joked that he should be the one to choose their dining spot then.

As they walked, Sui Yi commented on the ruined Christmas Eve atmosphere, lamenting how her overtime had interfered with her elaborate date plans, which included a restaurant with a live band, a thoughtful gift, a romantic movie, and a breathtaking night view from a city rooftop. He Chufeng, without further preamble, asked her directly if she liked him. After a brief pause, Sui Yi bravely confirmed that she did.

He Chufeng then playfully distracted her, telling her to look away, before surprising her with a quick kiss. Sui Yi, caught off guard, admitted she wasn't prepared for such a sudden gesture. He Chufeng teased her about what else she needed to prepare, listening as she recounted her detailed romantic itinerary. He kissed her again, then declared that their immediate task was to find food.

Meanwhile, at his shop, Luo Bin was lamenting his own single status, wishing for a sweet love like He Chufeng seemed to be experiencing. His musings were interrupted when a young woman, Fang Qi, her face smeared with what appeared to be blood, stumbled into his shop. She urgently requested, "Can you appraise me? Don't call the police," before collapsing into his arms. He Chufeng and Sui Yi found a barbecue stall.

Over their meal, Sui Yi sought to clarify their newfound relationship, confirming their boyfriend-girlfriend status. She wanted to be upfront, assuring He Chufeng that she had no other emotional entanglements or marriage history since meeting him. He Chufeng, in turn, joked about Zheng Xingchuan’s previous attempts to woo her with flowers and a bear, to which Sui Yi insisted those were "objective factors" that no longer existed and wouldn't reappear.

He Chufeng then stated he had no marriage history or emotional disputes either, adding that his background was on file at the police station for her to verify if she wished. Sui Yi playfully declared that checking his file would be the first thing she did after her internship. Though their first official date as a couple was at a humble barbecue stall, Sui Yi found it unexpected but special. Back at Luo Bin's shop, Granny Mi arrived.

Luo Bin nervously explained how Fang Qi had collapsed, emphasizing her plea not to involve the police. Granny Mi quickly assessed Fang Qi, wiping her face to reveal the "blood" was merely ketchup, though she did have minor abrasions on her hands. Granny Mi, unfazed, shared a similar story of how her late husband, Grandpa Mi, had dramatically "fallen" before her. He Chufeng and Sui Yi returned, surprised to see Fang Qi.

Luo Bin quickly denied knowing her, but Granny Mi clarified that a woman named Sister Song had sent Fang Qi there because she had lost her memory. Reassured, Granny Mi left Christmas gifts for them and advised Luo Bin to handle the situation, then departed.

Luo Bin, still perplexed by his unexpected guest and his supposed ability to "appraise people," declared his intention to specialize in human appraisal and asked He Chufeng and Sui Yi for help finding a certification course. That night, Luo Bin settled Fang Qi in his own room, then tried to convince He Chufeng to let him sleep in his room, but He Chufeng firmly refused, even ignoring Luo Bin's attempt to hold a "vote."

Luo Bin was left to sleep on the sofa with a thin blanket, complaining about the cold. Upstairs, Sui Yi was too excited to sleep. She considered changing He Chufeng's contact name on her phone, then decided against it, fearing she might seem too eager. She typed out "Are you asleep?" to He Chufeng but quickly retracted it, regretting her impulsiveness.

Unbeknownst to her, He Chufeng had already seen the message; he, too, was wide awake from happiness and had already changed her contact name to "Sui Sui." Sui Yi, unable to sleep, crept out to He Chufeng's room. Just as she approached, Luo Bin, still freezing, emerged from downstairs, about to go upstairs to ask He Chufeng for a thicker blanket.

He Chufeng quickly pulled Sui Yi into his room, closing the door and leaving Luo Bin to his fate on the sofa. After a quick goodnight kiss, Sui Yi returned to her room, leaving Luo Bin with his thin blanket for the night. The next morning, He Chufeng was astonished to find Luo Bin busy preparing breakfast. Fang Qi, meanwhile, woke up in Luo Bin’s room, disoriented by the unfamiliar surroundings.

Sui Yi came downstairs, initially thinking her clock was broken seeing Luo Bin up so early, but He Chufeng confirmed her clock was fine, and Luo Bin was simply acting unusually. Luo Bin's breakfast sandwiches were not particularly appetizing, but he enthusiastically described them as embodying "precious love and friendship," expecting payment for his "early morning labor." Sui Yi jokingly declined, prioritizing her life and claiming to be penniless.

Fang Qi eventually joined them downstairs, explaining that a "sister" had brought her here, but she didn't know her own name. Luo Bin, eager to impress, offered extensive help, even preparing pink toiletries for her. He Chufeng and Sui Yi exchanged knowing glances at Luo Bin’s overly solicitous behavior. Luo Bin expressed a strong desire to help Fang Qi, emphasizing her helpless situation.

Sui Yi mentioned her plans for legal aid work in the community, and He Chufeng stated he had a class, offering to pick her up afterward. He Chufeng then questioned Fang Qi about her memory. She could only recall falling from some place and having a TIKI kerosene lighter of Austrian origin, but not whether she smoked. He Chufeng suggested she go to the police station for answers.

Fang Qi, however, adamantly refused, explaining that the phrase "Don't call the police" echoed relentlessly in her mind, and she instinctively trusted that feeling. When Fang Qi offered to leave to avoid causing trouble, Luo Bin uncharacteristically intervened, passionately insisting she stay, citing the dangers outside and promising to protect her. Despite Luo Bin's objections, He Chufeng discreetly called Officer Jia Xiaoguo, requesting a gentle approach given Fang Qi's resistance.

Sui Yi tried to reassure Fang Qi that she would be safe. Soon after, Officer Jia Xiaoguo arrived with her team to collect a DNA sample from Fang Qi for identification. As she was leaving, Officer Jia noticed a large bear and complimented its cuteness and the "handsome" man in uniform pictured on its accompanying card. He Chufeng's face visibly tightened, though he maintained a strained smile, stating the man was "not my friend."

Officer Jia then casually asked He Chufeng if "Dali" (Popeye) had contacted him recently, which he denied. He Chufeng then mockingly pushed the bear face down, claiming it was "sleepy." Before He Chufeng left for his class, Sui Yi asked him if he remembered a specific incident from high school where he unlocked her bicycle. He Chufeng vaguely recalled it, and Sui Yi commented on his transformation into a "cool" professional locksmith. He Chufeng revealed he had a "master" who was "an excellent person."
