Li Jiashang and Su Yi found themselves stranded as the sun rose. Despite Li Jiashang's contentment with being away from worldly distractions and power struggles, with only Su Yi by his side, Su Yi expressed a need for more than just love, longing for drinks and "bread." When they heard the sound of a vehicle, Su Yi eagerly ran towards it, and they were finally rescued. Back at the hotel, staff expressed relief at their return.
Su Xiangtai noted their surprising reconciliation. Li Jiashang then announced a day off for the crew, bringing much joy. After returning, Li Jiashang, now in the hospital, confided in Xia Xiyang that his leg was not actually fractured. He revealed that since his minor injury, Su Yi had become remarkably attentive and protective. Li Jiashang sought Xia Xiyang's help to maintain this facade, hoping Su Yi would continue to care for him.
Xia Xiyang, understanding his intentions, told Su Yi that Li Jiashang needed further rest. At home, Li Jiashang acted demanding while Su Yi cooked and fed him. When Su Yi announced her intention to go home for the night, Li Jiashang, forgetting his act, stood up to escort her. Su Yi noticed his ability to stand, but Li Jiashang quickly feigned a new fracture, collapsing onto the sofa.
Su Yi, having seen through his deception, continued to massage his leg intensely until he admitted his leg was fine and that he had only intended to hide his recovery for a single day. Meanwhile, Gao Mu had been secretly acquiring retail shares of the Lee Group, successfully becoming a new director. He unexpectedly attended a marketing meeting led by Li Jiashang.
Despite his surprise, Li Jiashang maintained his composure, acknowledging Gao Mu's new position and reminding everyone to continue their hard work, asserting that he and his allies still controlled the company. Li Jiashang then approached his grandfather, Li Yaohui, with news of Gao Mu's significant share acquisition. He urged Li Yaohui to transfer his voting rights, hoping to consolidate power and overcome Gao Mu's influence.
However, Li Yaohui refused to interfere, stating that if Li Jiashang couldn't defend the Lee Group now, he would lose it in the future. After Li Jiashang's departure, Li Yaohui called Gao Mu, issuing a warning not to meddle in affairs that weren't his, but Gao Mu disregarded the caution and ended the call. Later, Zheng He received a text from Romanni, claiming she saw Xia Xiyang checking into a hotel with an unfamiliar man.
Alarmed, Zheng He immediately asked Li Jiashang to drive him to the Jinchi Hotel. Upon arrival, they discovered Xia Xiyang in a hotel room, wearing a seductive nightgown and preparing a surprise for Zheng He. Embarrassed by Li Jiashang's presence, she quickly shut the door. After Li Jiashang left, Zheng He confronted Xia Xiyang, who explained it was all a surprise to lift his spirits. Zheng He softened, acknowledging her effort and remarking on how pretty she looked.
Li Jiashang later recounted the incident to Su Yi, who laughed, admitting she had forgotten to inform him of Xia Xiyang's plan. Su Yi then played a recording for Li Jiashang, which Gao Mu had given her. In the recording, her father mentioned "Brother Mu" and implicated a "Li" if anything happened to him. Su Yi expressed her strong suspicion that the "Li" was Li Yaohui.
Li Jiashang clarified that when her father passed away, the Li Mu Research Institute was shut down, and Gao Mu, whose family name was Li at the time, was expelled by his grandfather. Li Jiashang further explained that he was with his grandfather, interning at the Lee Group, at the time of her father's car accident, making it unlikely for his grandfather to have arranged the retrieval of her father's phone from the scene.
He suggested that Gao Mu might be concealing crucial information. Li Jiashang promised Su Yi that, regardless of the ultimate truth, he would ensure a fair explanation for her and her father. Li Jiashang later shared a personal vulnerability with Su Yi, revealing that his intense fear of fire originated from a traumatic incident at age five.
He recounted waking up to thick smoke during an afternoon nap, opening the door to a room engulfed in flames, desperately calling for his parents who did not respond, and being unable to escape. He eventually woke up in a hospital bed. Su Yi comforted him, assuring him that past hurts and fears are not one's own fault and that they both deserved a better future.
With the combined efforts of Zheng He, Romanni, and Su Yi, several shareholders agreed to transfer their shares to Li Jiashang, resulting in both Li Jiashang and his grandfather each holding 30 percent of the company's shares. Romanni suggested a celebration, but Li Jiashang felt it was not yet the right time. Su Yi then gathered everyone, including Li Jiashang, to apologize and confess her true reason for coming to the company: to investigate her father's death.
She explained that she was in the car during the 2014 accident, which caused her to lose all her memories. She later studied in Japan and only returned to China after seeing a September 2014 edition of Ming Xiu magazine, which prompted her to seek answers. Her investigation, however, hit a dead end after Director Zheng's mishap.
Before she could finish, Zheng He interrupted, adamantly stating that his father's death case was closed by the police, and he did not want Su Yi to reopen it or involve him further. He angrily told her not to drag others into her "unstable life." Li Jiashang tried to intervene, reminding Zheng He that everyone was grieving, but Zheng He ignored him and stormed out.
Xia Xiyang attempted to reason with Zheng He, who retorted that if she didn't want to go with him, she should go with Su Yi. Xia Xiyang then got out of the car and left. Romanni pledged her support to Su Yi, citing her connection to Su Xiangtai and her past relationship with Li Jiashang. Other friends also offered their help, and Su Yi gratefully bowed to them.
Li Jiashang, already frustrated with Zheng He's recent work performance and their argument, was further taken aback when he found a resignation letter from Zheng He. Li Jiashang expressed his dismay at Zheng He's attitude, noting his slacking off and absence, and lamenting that he had spoiled him too much in the past.
