The Lion's Secret Episode 6 Recap
> The Lion's Secret Recap
Liu Qing returned home alone while Mu Jianjun, after spending the night at the hospital, went back to his own residence, careful not to worry his family about Mu Wanqing's recent ordeal. The following day, after Mu Wanqing was discharged, she arrived at her office to find Mu Jianjun already waiting. He had arranged for two bodyguards to protect her, a precaution Mu Wanqing reluctantly accepted.
She shared her suspicion that Liu Qing might be involved in her kidnapping, but Mu Jianjun vehemently dismissed the idea. He hinted that she had forgotten something important, implying that Liu Qing would explain it to her himself when the time was right. Meanwhile, Liu Qing was withdrawn, seemingly struggling with memories of a past mission that had deeply affected him. The housekeeper cautiously inquired why Mu Wanqing hadn't returned home with him, but he chose to ignore her question.
Mu Wanqing soon discovered that her kidnapping had been sensationalized online. Malicious comments suggested she had staged the event to conceal the company's financial losses, with some even speculating that Liu Qing was her kidnapper. Troubled by these rumors, Fu Junxie reached out to Lei Shuo for assistance. Lei Shuo swiftly identified a network company responsible for orchestrating the smear campaign.
He and Fu Junxie confronted the company, collecting evidence of their illegal activities and threatening them with legal action and cyber police intervention if the defamatory posts were not immediately removed. Lei Shuo explained that such companies exploited public interest in major enterprises like Maoyuan, especially those with numerous shareholders, to manipulate public opinion for their competitors. To thank Lei Shuo, Fu Junxie invited him to dinner.
Lei Shuo chose her regular hotpot restaurant, where people from her martial arts club, seeing Fu Junxie serve him food, playfully implied a romantic connection, much to Fu Junxie's discomfort. She clarified that her presence was solely out of obligation for his help to Mu Wanqing, as she generally preferred dining alone. During the meal, Lei Shuo, claiming a British upbringing, expressed his distaste for certain "three-fingered" foods like chicken feet.
Fu Junxie, however, insisted he try them, along with duck blood and tripe, emphasizing traditional Eastern dining etiquette and their nutritional value, playfully challenging his preferences. After dinner, Lei Shuo feigned a severe stomachache and, citing his mysophobia, refused to use the public restrooms in the mall. He persistently demanded to use the private toilet in Fu Junxie's room at her martial arts club. Despite her initial reluctance and strict personal boundaries, Fu Junxie eventually relented.
Once inside, Lei Shuo deliberately procrastinated, instead admiring her pristine room, noting its lack of a "feminine touch," and even examining her skincare products. His antics deeply annoyed Fu Junxie. He then attempted to sit on her bed, prompting a warning from her. Lei Shuo finally backed down and left, casually remarking that he had enjoyed their dinner and would invite her again.
Meanwhile, Liu Qing's grandmother, concerned about the growing distance between Liu Qing and Mu Wanqing, visited their home for dinner, intending to stay the night to foster intimacy between them. She affectionately urged Liu Qing to clarify any misunderstandings with Mu Wanqing, reminding him that he was no longer alone and shouldn't shoulder burdens in silence.
Liu Qing, however, remained evasive, dismissing their issues as "trivial fights" to reassure his grandmother and maintaining that some truths, even if explained, would not be believed by Mu Wanqing. Later, when Grandma insisted on staying the night and proposed that she take the master bedroom while Liu Qing and Mu Wanqing shared the guest room, Mu Wanqing initially tried to offer the master bedroom to Grandma while she and Liu Qing slept separately.
However, seeing Grandma's resolve, Mu Wanqing ultimately retreated to the bathroom, locking both the door and window, to avoid sharing a bed with Liu Qing. After Grandma finally fell asleep, Liu Qing quietly opened the bathroom door, gently carried the sleeping Mu Wanqing to their bed, and covered her with a blanket. He then spent the rest of the night sleeping in the bathtub.
Mu Wanqing awoke on the bed that night, confused and left to ponder Liu Qing's enigmatic actions. The following morning, during breakfast, Grandma noticed the absence of wedding photos in their home. Recalling her own regret of never having taken one with her late husband, she tasked Liu Qing with arranging a wedding photoshoot for him and Mu Wanqing. They maintained their façade of a loving couple for Grandma during breakfast, after which she departed, seemingly relieved.
Separately, Lei Shuo took Liu Qing to an autism rehabilitation center. There, they observed Wu Fengyu with his autistic daughter, Youyou. This revelation provided Liu Qing with an understanding of Wu Fengyu's previous secrecy about his family, suggesting that the kidnappings were orchestrated to bring together the various individuals connected to their shared past. Liu Qing then visited Wu Feifei at a sanatorium. She remained unconscious due to the injected drugs.
Doctors informed them that the medication could cause memory loss, rendering her unable to provide any useful clues upon regaining consciousness. At Maoyuan, Yang Zhentian from Zhentian Group unexpectedly sought a partnership with Mu Wanqing, which she firmly rejected. However, a call from her manager revealed that Zhentian Group had acquired the engine patent previously provided by Huayue, thereby halting Maoyuan's ongoing experiment. This development compelled Mu Wanqing to continue negotiations with Yang Zhentian.
He proceeded to mock her, suggesting that Maoyuan, grappling with financial difficulties, could meet the same fate as the bankrupt Feng Group if she refused to cooperate. The mention of the Feng Group and her ex-boyfriend, Feng Cong—who disappeared after his family's company collapsed, a painful memory that resurfaced for Mu Wanqing from a past conversation where she was advised to break up with him due to his family's unscrupulous dealings—enraged her. In a fit of anger, she splashed coffee on Yang Zhentian and stormed out of the meeting.
