> Take My Brother Away Recap

When Shi Miao discovers Shi Fen has eaten her chocolate, she doesn't get angry, puzzling him. She has already asked their mother to take Shi Fen away. In a flashback, a rebellious Shi Miao confronts her mother, crying about her difficult childhood and blaming her brother. She pleads with her mother to take Shi Fen so she can have a better life, and her mother agrees.

Meanwhile, Shi Fen sits with Zhen Kaixin and Wan Sui, lamenting his broken model ships. He recalls how he earned each one, but then remembers that Shi Miao got him the last model by standing in the cold with her piggy bank until the shop owner relented.

Realizing she must still care for him and is waiting for him to make a move, he decides to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their parents' divorce—the day they began to rely on each other. He bakes a tiramisu to reconcile with her. However, when Shi Fen presents the cake, Shi Miao smashes it.

In the ensuing argument, she unleashes years of resentment, blaming Shi Fen for everything: for driving their mother away, for choosing to stay with their father and forcing her to do the same, and for the hardships of being a "poverty student." Heartbroken, Shi Fen asks if she has ever been happy with him, and she says no. He realizes she was the one who asked their mother to take him.

When he asks if she would be happy if he left, she tearfully says yes. Shi Fen then calls his mother and agrees to go live with her. As he leaves, Shi Miao breaks down and cries. Shi Fen moves into his mother's mansion with her and his stepfather, Uncle Wang. Though a bit gruff, Uncle Wang is caring, immediately giving Shi Fen his own coat and ordering him a new bed.

That night, Shi Miao is home alone and frightened during a storm. Her father comes home late to find her asleep and leaves money for her. The next morning, Uncle Wang gives Shi Fen a large sum of money. At a store, Shi Fen runs into Shi Miao, who is bragging to Miao Miaomiao that her allowance has doubled now that he's gone.

This sparks a competitive shopping spree, with Zhen Kaixin and Miao Miaomiao acting as messengers between the two siblings. Through them, Shi Miao tearfully expresses her frustrations, accusing Shi Fen of always making decisions for her and never letting her learn on her own. Shortly after, Shi Fen learns from his teacher that his family has processed his withdrawal from school. He confronts Uncle Wang for making a decision without consulting him, finally understanding how Shi Miao felt.

Misinterpreting Shi Fen's anger, Uncle Wang decides to prove his commitment by resigning from his job so the entire family can immigrate. That night, Shi Fen sees his father standing outside the mansion and goes down to talk to him, urging him to stop working night shifts. Later, Shi Fen secretly returns to his old home to pack his things, feeling heartbroken.

When Shi Miao comes home to the empty room, she realizes he is truly gone and begins to cry. On the day of his departure, as his classmates weep, Shi Fen tries to call Shi Miao one last time, but she doesn't answer. As he turns to get into the car to leave for the airport, he is blinded by the bright headlights of an approaching vehicle.
