Li Xiaoyao, however, firmly stated that he didn't distinguish between humans and demons, only between good and evil. Jiu Jian Xian couldn't help but sigh, thinking that after several decades, he was hearing the same words. Li Xiaoyao was puzzled, wondering if someone had said the same words as him decades ago.

Jiu Jian Xian recounted what happened ten years ago. At that time, Senior Brother Jiang was just one step away from becoming the leader of Shushan. His master instructed Senior Brother Jiang to go down the mountain to slay demons. Jiu Jian Xian intended to go with him, but Senior Brother Jiang told him to first learn how to drink. After going down the mountain, Senior Brother Jiang never returned.

Rumors in Shushan said that he had already joined forces with demons. Jiu Jian Xian went down the mountain to search and finally found Senior Brother Jiang working. He prepared to take him back to Shushan, but discovered that the other party had gotten married. His wife was indeed a member of the demon realm, just as the rumors said. As a result, none of them survived. Despite this, Li Xiaoyao still did not change his mind. Jiu Jian Xian then told Li Xiaoyao to take three of his moves. In fact, this was to teach Li Xiaoyao his unique skill, the Wine God Curse.

Lin Yueru said she had heard that a swordsman was sealed inside a wine jar in the Demon Locking Pagoda to save a friend. If they could find this person, they might know where Zhao Ling'er was imprisoned. So the two began to unseal the wine jars one by one. Gai Luojiao was poisoned with a potent toxin. Sheng Gu said there was no antidote in the world, but A Nu repeatedly pleaded.

Sheng Gu had A Nu and Tang Yu go to the courtyard to decoct medicine and listened as Gai Luojiao explained Chief Bai Yue's conspiracy. However, there was no one currently who could continue investigating the truth, so they could only place their hope in Tang Yu. A moment later, Sheng Gu took A Nu to gather herbs. Tang Yu brought the medicinal soup to Gai Luojiao.

Gai Luojiao questioned Tang Yu about why he deceived everyone and acted as Chief Bai Yue's informant. Tang Yu explained that when he was very young, his parents were killed by the people of Nan Zhao, and Chief Bai Yue took him in, so he would remember this kindness for his whole life.
