Taking Zhao Ling'er back to the immortal island, Lao Lao was already at her last breath. Zhao Ling'er wanted to use the Soul Revival Spell to save Lao Lao's life, but she had not mastered the essence of the spell, and her attempts were futile. Before she died, Lao Lao entrusted Zhao Ling'er to Li Xiaoyao, instructing him to safely escort Zhao Ling'er back to the Southern Zhao Kingdom.

After burying Lao Lao, Zhao Ling'er burned the immortal island to the ground. Gui Ying reported the events to Chief Bai Yue, stating that apart from Zhao Ling'er, all personnel on the immortal island had been ransacked. Zhao Ling'er was brought back to the inn in Yuhang Town by Li Xiaoyao.

Upon waking up, Zhao Ling'er told Li Xiaoyao that she had dreamt of Lao Lao entrusting her to be strong so that she could return to the Southern Zhao Kingdom soon. Although Li Xiaoyao kindly took care of Zhao Ling'er's recovery, he did not know why she was so close to him. Zhao Ling'er repeatedly hinted that they had been married in a ceremony.

Meanwhile, in the Southern Zhao Kingdom, the King of Southern Meng ordered his daughter A Nu to go to the Central Plains to search for the Five Spirit Orbs and pray for rain to alleviate the current severe drought in Southern Zhao.

At the same time, he handed over the Sacred Spirit Orb, which could sense the Five Spirit Orbs, and instructed her to search for Princess Ling'er together, as only she could use the Five Spirit Orbs. Tang Yu was responsible for protecting A Nu's safety. Li Xiaoyao and Zhao Ling'er arrived in Suzhou to switch to land travel.

Instead of being grateful, the woman stabbed Li Xiaoyao with her sword. Li Xiaoyao fell to the ground, having been struck by the sword. The woman had expected Li Xiaoyao to dodge but caused such a consequence unexpectedly. Frightened, she quickly ran away.
