Gai Luojiao and the King of Southern Alliance paid a visit to Wizard King, revealing Chief Bai Yue's various crimes, as well as killing Elder Shi and injuring Zhao Ling'er. Wizard King was currently most concerned about Zhao Ling'er's safety. Regarding Chief Bai Yue's crimes, Wizard King stated that the Bai Yue Sect was deeply entrenched in Nanman. Further deliberation was needed. The two had no choice but to withdraw and first arrange to search for Zhao Ling'er.

However, Gai Luojiao felt that a conspiracy was hidden within the Nanman Kingdom. A Nu's health slightly recovered, and she ran to the courtyard to keep Tang Yu company while he was boiling medicine. She pestered Tang Yu to listen to the story of how she saved him when they were children. Tang Yu recounted how he traveled with his parents to Nanman for business since childhood, had no fixed home, and moved frequently.

One time, while they were eating, he suddenly found his parents had died tragically. Their bodies lay across the doorstep. After that, Tang Yu became an orphan and wandered everywhere. Once on the street, he picked up a flatbread but was unexpectedly teased by several children. It was A Nu who appeared then and drove away the children teasing him. Therefore, Tang Yu had always kept it in mind.

A Nu pulled Tang Yu for a walk in the woods, found a leaf, and asked Tang Yu to play a tune. As the two were quietly sitting together, A Nu suddenly heard an eagle's cry, a very familiar sound. It seemed as if she had heard it before when she was with Tang Yu, so she asked Tang Yu if he heard it. Tang Yu stammered and quickly pulled A Nu to go home to rest.

Liu Jinyuan made a shopping list and asked Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru to go shopping. The items he selected were related to the time they had spent with Zhao Ling'er, intending to help them regain their memories. Li Xiaoyao saw a hair tie in a jewelry store and just found it familiar. When the two went to a wine shop to buy wine, they heard several men discussing Liu Jinyuan's wife Cai Yi.
