Li Xiaoyao and his group brought back Jiang Shaoyun. Han Mengci was immensely grateful. Lin Yueru reminded them that the most important thing right now was to subdue the corpse demons. Zhao Ling'er suddenly remembered that Xiao Shit头 had said he had a way, so she took off her bead chain and summoned Xiao Shit头. Xiao Shit头 had cultivated at Jade Buddha Temple for a thousand years, so he naturally knew the reason for the rampant corpse demons nearby.

Everything started because of Han Kuang. Many years ago, Han Kuang achieved minor success in cultivating immortality and was ordered by his sect to go to Guiyin Mountain to subdue the corpse demons. No matter how Han Kuang explained, his sect regarded him as having befriended evil creatures, leading to his ruin and loss of reputation. Han Kuang, expelled from his sect, simply searched for the source of the corpse demons with Meng Ke. They discovered a barren tomb mound. After entering, they found a blood pool surging and churning.

The two joined forces to cast spells and set up a barrier seal, but found it was of no use. A large number of corpse demons counterattacked. Han Kuang felt fear, and suddenly made a mistake. Han Kuang later learned that Meng Ke had suppressed the Red Ghost King with his body, so he stayed in Baihe Town. However, many villagers were bitten by the corpse demons. A couple used their lives to protect their infant and entrusted her to Han Kuang. The infant was the current Han Mengci.

Han Kuang later found the Earth Spirit Bead to rescue Meng Ke, but unexpectedly, the Earth Spirit Bead could only alleviate the erosion of the corpse poison and could not revive him. Han Kuang then sought an antidote in the identity of Han Yixian. After listening to Xiao Shit头's narration, everyone blamed Han Kuang's actions. Zhao Ling'er suddenly fainted on the ground. Han Mengci helped her back to the room and diagnosed that she was pregnant.

Zhao Ling'er asked Han Mengci to keep her secret. Having understood the reason for the spread of the corpse demons, Li Xiaoyao, Zhao Ling'er, and Lin Yueru went to the barren tomb mound again to take action. Han Kuang was guarding Meng Ke. Zhao Ling'er used her own blood to completely revive the Ghost General, which also activated the Red Ghost King. The Red Ghost King was arrogant and prepared to cause trouble in the human world again.

Xiao Shit头 said that demon-eating worms could slow down the Red Ghost King's movements, making it easier to find a weakness. So Zhao Ling'er released the demon-eating worms. The Red Ghost King's movements became slower and slower. Meng Ke was awakened and repeatedly asked Han Kuang to kill him to prevent the Red Ghost King from harming the human world. Han Kuang couldn't bear to. Li Xiaoyao suddenly leaped up and stabbed towards the Red Ghost King's heart.

The blood pool was still constantly churning. Han Kuang finally jumped into the blood pool, using his body for permanent suppression. After subduing the Red Ghost King, Li Xiaoyao accidentally came into contact with the demon-eating worms. Since the demon-eating worms had just absorbed the Red Ghost King's thousand years of cultivation, if Li Xiaoyao could not dispel it, his internal organs would rupture and he would die.
