Wei Chu took Piaopiao on a fishing trip, aiming to teach her patience and, as he did not want her to spend more time with Yueshanxun, encourage her to focus on preparing for the National Martial Arts Congress. However, Piaopiao was restless, complaining about the early start and the lack of activity, even linking Wei Chu's advice on calmness to Taijiquan practice, which she found frustrating. Wei Chu playfully teased her about her arms getting thicker.

When Wei Chu eventually caught a fish, he released it, explaining that the true lesson of fishing was the process of cultivating inner peace, a skill he felt she needed to master, even suggesting she struggled to meditate for half an hour. Piaopiao, eager for food, dismissed his lecture, and Wei Chu responded by preparing a large meal, humorously noting her appetite and jokingly making her "pay" by cleaning his room.

Later, as Piaopiao dozed off, Wei Chu observed that she was "quite good" when silent and gently covered her with a blanket. Their relationship had grown noticeably closer, marked by lighthearted teasing. Piaopiao attempted to negotiate an agreement, offering to clear all her "debts" to him if she won the National Martial Arts Congress championship.

Wei Chu agreed to the terms, but Piaopiao quickly balked at the idea of intense training or working for him, leading to a playful exchange where she called him a "blockhead" for ignoring her. Meanwhile, Yueshanxun met with Piaopiao to announce that his exchange program was ending, and he would soon return to Japan.

Believing their three encounters were a sign of destiny, he passionately confessed his feelings for her, offering to either stay in China for her or take her back to Japan. Piaopiao, touched by his sincerity, gently declined his offer. She explained that while she truly enjoyed her time with him, when he spoke of destiny, her thoughts were consumed by another person. She expressed her gratitude for his kindness and wished him well before they parted ways.

Immediately after, Piaopiao went to Wei Chu's home, displaying an uncharacteristic eagerness to help him. Noticing his Polaroid camera, she suggested they take a picture together, which she then secretly kept. As she cleaned, Piaopiao tried to engage Wei Chu in conversation, even boldly attempting to listen to his heartbeat, though he gently rebuffed her advances, still puzzled by her change in demeanor.

Unbeknownst to Wei Chu, Piaopiao had realized her feelings for him and was diligently knitting a scarf for him. Her roommate, Xiao Xiao, playfully exposed Piaopiao’s secret, guessing the scarf was for Wei Chu despite Piaopiao’s embarrassed claim that it was merely to repay a favor. Xiao Xiao teasingly concluded that Piaopiao was in love. A significant conflict erupted at the Tai Chi system. Yang Ningxue's unauthorized sparring challenges at other departments had provoked a furious response.

Tan Lin, seizing the opportunity to achieve his long-standing goal of abolishing the Tai Chi system, rallied various department heads to issue a collective challenge. He accused the Tai Chi system of flagrantly violating school regulations and demanded its dissolution if they failed in the upcoming competition. During the heated confrontation, Xiao Xiao bravely stepped forward to defend Yang Ningxue, only to be shielded by Bai Haiyang.

Wei Chu arrived on the scene and, as both the acting captain of the Tai Chi system and the president of the Student Union, accepted the challenge. He conceded that the Tai Chi system had indeed initiated the conflict but countered with his own condition: if the Tai Chi system emerged victorious against all martial arts departments, they would secure the sole qualification for the next National Martial Arts Congress. Both parties agreed to the terms.

Due to the involvement of multiple departments, Wei Chu set the challenge competition for three months later to allow for official school approval. After the other department representatives departed, the Tai Chi students expressed their discontent with Wei Chu's unilateral decision, fearing certain defeat without the comprehensive training from the four great families. Wei Chu, however, reassured them, promising to personally instruct them in Taijiquan, which significantly boosted their morale.

He declared his absolute confidence in the Tai Chi system's victory, highlighting the strengths of Bai Haiyang, Chen Bing, and Yang Ningxue, and hinting that Piaopiao was his "secret weapon" should all else fail. Simultaneously, Wei Chu received a phone call from Uncle Chen, who cautioned him about his lingering injuries and advised him against engaging in any combat, emphasizing the risk of nullifying his recovery.

Piaopiao, after finishing the scarf and learning about the Tai Chi system's troubles from Xiao Xiao, rushed to Wei Chu's home, eager to help. Wei Chu, however, told her to stay out of it, emphasizing the danger of revealing her martial arts skills and assuring her that Chen Bing, Yang Ningxue, and Bai Haiyang were capable enough to handle "those minions."

Piaopiao then presented him with the knitted scarf, playfully claiming it was a repayment for his past favors, and quickly left. The next day, Wei Chu conducted rollerblading training, teaching Piaopiao that the crucial element for success, mirroring Tai Chi, was balance. Later, Piaopiao, while talking to Wei Chu on the phone, grew alarmed as she realized someone was following her. She bravely told him she wasn’t afraid as long as he was there.

That night, a mysterious man in black stealthily broke into Wei Chu's home and launched a silent attack. Wei Chu, still recovering from his previous injuries, was forced to defend himself but was severely kicked in the chest, collapsing to the ground. As the assailant prepared for another strike, his mask slipped, revealing his face, and he immediately fled to avoid identification. Piaopiao, witnessing the brutal attack, rushed to Wei Chu's side, frantic, as he lost consciousness from his aggravated injuries.
