Sweet Sweet Episode 22 (Ending) Recap
> Sweet Sweet Recap
Li Di and Tian Tian shared drinks. In Tian Tian's heart, Li Di would always be her supportive little brother, and she pledged to always stand up for him. They reminisced about their past, recalling how Tian Tian bravely joined the baseball team, joking that the ball would be more afraid of her. Over the next few days, Su Mu and Tian Tian remained inseparable.
One evening, Su Mu sensed something was bothering Tian Tian, especially after he called her out late. He correctly guessed it was about her exam. Tian Tian confessed that if she were to study abroad, they would have to part ways, which she did not want. Su Mu, also not wanting to separate, jokingly suggested she stay. Despite this, Su Mu felt conflicted by her words.
He later went to Tian Tian's house and invited her on a stargazing date that night, explaining he had to work during the day. Back home, Tian Tian rummaged through her belongings for a swimsuit for the beach date. Her mother pointed out her only options were a child's swimsuit and a fully-covered one-piece, neither suitable for a date, and insisted Tian Tian needed a bikini.
Her mother then took her shopping, pushing for a rather revealing bikini much to Tian Tian's embarrassment, which Tian Tian described as "no different than going nude." While at the mall, they unexpectedly ran into Tian Tian's mother’s university classmate, Li Juan, who was now working as a server. Li Juan revealed she was divorced, her husband having cheated on her multiple times, and emphatically stated that women should have their own careers as love is unreliable.
She also mentioned another classmate who moved overseas with her husband only for him to go bankrupt, leaving her to raise two children alone. Tian Tian, hearing these stories, began to seriously reconsider her decision to stay. When Tian Tian called Su Mu, he informed her he was too busy with work and would be late for their date.
Feeling idle compared to everyone around her, including Li Di who described his new job as tiring but enriching, Tian Tian worried she might end up like Li Juan. Li Di, on a quick phone call, also suggested that if he had the chance to study abroad, he would definitely go. Later that evening, Su Mu and Tian Tian went to the beach.
Tian Tian observed there were no stars, but Su Mu promised shooting stars would appear, perfect for making wishes. She reflected on her childhood desire to explore the world beyond the ocean, noting that while she had seen the mesmerizing outside world, she now often thought about returning home. Su Mu then sang to her, and Tian Tian, surprised by his talent, was reminded of when she earlier called him a "mind reader" for guessing her exam worries.
When shooting stars streaked across the sky, Tian Tian instinctively reached for her phone to capture the moment, but Su Mu leaned in and kissed her, capturing the kiss on his phone instead. Tian Tian asked, "Why so sudden?" to which Su Mu replied it was like shooting stars. Tian Tian clarified she was referring to him.
Returning home, Tian Tian's mother, eager to hear about the bikini, was disappointed to learn Su Mu hadn't even let Tian Tian take off her jacket, prompting her father to suggest it might have been too cold. Later, Tian Tian saw Su Mu still working on the balcony and chose not to disturb him, although Su Mu briefly looked up, puzzled by her departure before returning to work.
The next day, Tian Tian went to Su Mu’s office, only to be met by Wang Yanyi, who informed her that Su Mu was in a meeting and she shouldn't wait. Wang Yanyi also mentioned his upcoming move to Japan for work, which would separate him from Ding Xiaoyu. He then advised Tian Tian that with Su Mu's successful career, she should simply stay home, raise children, and manage household chores.
Tian Tian, however, imagined a future where she was overwhelmed with housework and childcare, feared Su Mu might abandon her if she failed, and dismissed Wang Yanyi's suggestion as "male chauvinist." Wang Yanyi reported back to Su Mu that Tian Tian seemed "panicked" by their conversation. Tian Tian, preoccupied with these thoughts all day, eventually made a firm decision to study abroad.
She explained to her parents that she loved Su Mu but also cherished herself, her dreams, and her future. She believed that distance and time could not change their love, unless Su Mu himself changed. Her parents expressed pride, noting how much she had grown through this relationship. Since her reporting date was the day after tomorrow, she had to leave tomorrow.
She called Su Mu to inform him of her departure, but he responded curtly, saying he had no time to see her off, leaving Tian Tian disheartened. Despite her parents' concern and a moment of doubt, Tian Tian reiterated her resolve, and her family decided to help her prepare. Meanwhile, Mi Ya approached Li Di and confessed her feelings for him.
Li Di, surprised, initially thought she wanted to break up Su Mu and Tian Tian, but Mi Ya clarified that Su Mu's relationship was their business, and her feelings were for Li Di. She admitted she couldn't forget him since they met at the bar. Li Di said he had always viewed her as an older sister. Mi Ya, unfazed, stated she would continue to treat him as her boyfriend until he no longer saw her merely as a sister.
She challenged him, saying he lacked the "guts" to express his feelings to Tian Tian because he didn't like her enough, while she liked him enough. Li Di, feeling "a little bit. . . confused," wondered how she could like him so quickly, to which Mi Ya replied that liking someone is based on feelings, not accumulated time.
The next day, Wang Yanyi drove Tian Tian and her parents to the airport, explaining that Su Mu had specifically instructed him to, as Su Mu was busy. Disappointed that Su Mu wasn't there, Tian Tian fell asleep in the car. She awoke to find herself in an unfamiliar place, seeing Li Di, Mi Ya, Ding Xiaoyu, Wang Yanyi, and her family. They appeared to be ignoring her, causing her to panic and call out for Su Mu.
Suddenly, drones illuminated the sky, forming the outline of her dream house. Su Mu appeared, calling her "Little Crab," and assured her, "This is not a dream. I will always… be with you." It was then revealed that Su Mu had orchestrated the entire elaborate surprise. He had spoken to Tian Tian's parents earlier, expressing his respect for her choices but not wanting her to abandon her dreams because of him.
He had sought their help, along with Li Di and Wang Yanyi, to subtly encourage her to pursue her studies. The conversations and scenarios, including Li Juan's story and Li Di's advice, were all part of Su Mu's plan to give Tian Tian the final push she needed. Looking back at photos of their time together, Tian Tian asked Su Mu if he made a wish during the shooting stars. He simply replied that his wish was fulfilled. Despite the distance and time that would separate them, their hearts remained connected, their love enduring. Tian Tian and Su Mu were destined for everlasting happiness.
