Sweet Sweet Episode 20 Recap
> Sweet Sweet Recap
After Tian Tiande helped Su Mu blow dry his hair, their eyes met, and Su Mu kissed her again. Both blushed, and Tian Tiande shyly asked him to leave so she could change. Once changed, Tian Tiande found Su Mu on the balcony, a place filled with memories of their first meeting. During dinner with her parents, Su Mu and Tian Tiande couldn't help but smile at each other.
Tian Tiande's mother, curious about their relationship, asked when they first met. Su Mu recounted how Tian Tiande broke his aircraft and he pushed her into a mud pit, leading to their acquaintance. When asked when they fell for each other, both Su Mu and Tian Tiande simultaneously replied, "Just that time." Tian Tiande's mother then pressed to know who pursued whom, but her father quickly intervened, urging everyone to eat.
After dinner, Tian Tiande's parents insisted she walk Su Mu home, citing it as proper courtesy. As they walked, Su Mu told her his mother would be back tomorrow and suggested Tian Tiande meet her. Tian Tiande was visibly anxious, worried about the impression Su Mu's mother would have after their previous encounter regarding a "fake" goldfish. Meanwhile, Li Di successfully secured two tickets for an exhibition match, with his friends teasing that one was surely for Tian Tiande.
The next morning, Tian Tiande dressed up elaborately for the meeting. Her parents found her outfit inappropriate, preferring something neat and fresh, but Tian Tiande insisted this was the effect she wanted. When she arrived at Su Mu's house, he didn't even notice her transformed appearance, jokingly pointing out "something dirty" on her face instead, though he added that she looked good with or without makeup. She expressed concern that his mother might recognize her from the goldfish incident.
Su Mu reassured her that his mother had face blindness and wouldn't remember. However, upon introduction, Su Mu's mother immediately recognized Tian Tiande as "the girl who bought the goldfish last time," much to Tian Tiande's mortification. Tian Tiande quickly apologized for the previous incident, but Su Mu's mother dismissed it, saying it showed Tian Tiande's strong resilience and high IQ, which would be good for the next generation.
After the awkwardness subsided, Tian Tiande went to the kitchen to help Su Mu cook, even though Su Mu's mother had already given up on trying to work with Su Mu due to his obsessive-compulsive disorder. Observing the couple's slow and affectionate cooking, Su Mu's mother worried they'd starve before dinner was ready. Mi Ya, anticipating this, revealed she had already ordered takeaway.
As Su Mu walked Tian Tiande home, she expressed her embarrassment over the day's events, including her cooking skills. She then playfully instructed him that since they were "mature adults" who had met the parents, he could only walk her to a certain "yellow line" in the future. Despite this, Tian Tiande called out to Su Mu and kissed him goodbye. Their intimate moment was interrupted by a bright flash, revealing Li Di.
Li Di was clearly heartbroken to see them together. Tian Tiande, oblivious to his distress, excitedly explained that they had gotten together during their last camping trip and shared another important piece of news: she had passed an initial interview and would be going to Beijing in two days for another, which could lead to her studying in the UK.
When Tian Tiande asked why he was looking for her, Li Di quickly made up a story about buffet coupons he had "thrown away" and then abruptly excused himself, claiming Chenfeng was looking for him. Li Di, having silently harbored his feelings, recalled to himself how he had "always liked" Tian Tiande and "never changed."
He then walked alone in the pouring rain to the baseball stadium, only to be informed by a staff member that the exhibition match was canceled due to the heavy rain. Clutching his tickets, Li Di sat alone in the empty stadium, tears mixing with the rainwater, heartbroken by both the canceled game and his unrequited love. Tian Tiande noticed Tang Mumu's obvious crush on Wang Yanyi.
She advised Tang Mumu that Wang Yanyi was known to act the same way with every girl and was currently pursuing one of her junior classmates, urging Tang Mumu to understand the situation. Later, Tian Tiande arranged for Wang Yanyi and Tang Mumu to meet. Wang Yanyi directly asked Tang Mumu if she liked him, to which she hesitantly denied.
He then falsely confessed his feelings for her, only to immediately retract it, stating he was just kidding and could say such things to anyone. To prove his point, he went to a stranger and started flirting, even holding her hand. When Tang Mumu still insisted she liked him, Wang Yanyi confessed that he already had a girl he liked, Ding Xiaoyu, for whom he had changed significantly and stopped flirting.
He hoped Tang Mumu would find someone who would change for her as well. After Wang Yanyi left, Tian Tiande told Tang Mumu that while it's okay to like someone, it's most important that the feeling is mutual for a relationship. A dispirited Li Di was drinking alone at a bar when Mi Ya spotted him. She observed his sadness and directly asked if it was because Su Mu and Tian Tiande were together.
Li Di denied it, claiming he was genuinely happy for Tian Tiande, though he admitted he was upset with himself, acknowledging his failure to be brave and his self-centeredness. He confessed that he knew from the first moment he saw them that Tian Tiande and Su Mu would end up together, and that he and Tian Tiande were more like siblings, so a romantic relationship was never truly possible. Despite this, he felt lucky to remain best friends with her.
Mi Ya remarked that if he had been braver, things might have turned out differently. Reflecting on their conversation later, Mi Ya found herself unexpectedly falling for Li Di, his image consuming her thoughts. Tian Tiande witnessed Hui Zi being targeted by a fake accident scammer. Tian Tiande bravely intervened by dramatically pretending to be a pregnant woman whose triplets were being harmed, yelling that her lawyer husband would pursue the scammer. The startled scammer quickly fled.
Hui Zi was very grateful for Tian Tiande's help. During a thank-you coffee, Hui Zi was impressed by Tian Tiande's energy, which Tian Tiande jokingly attributed to being nicknamed "little crab" and her undefeated record as a high school class monitor. Hui Zi realized why Su Mu liked Tian Tiande: her vibrant personality brought happiness and color into Su Mu's previously boring life.
At a company meeting, good news was shared: the issues with the Japanese branch's aircraft had been resolved, with Su Mu's impeccable safety instructions proving crucial. Colleagues noted Su Mu's improved demeanor, speculating it was due to his new relationship. Hui Zi confirmed this, stating that Tian Tiande had helped her earlier by scaring away a scammer, praising Tian Tiande as an energetic and relaxing person.
Other colleagues also expressed their fondness for Tian Tiande, mentioning how much they enjoyed chatting with her. When the conversation turned to a partner needing to meet Su Mu in Beijing that night for a final decision, Su Mu, energized by the positive comments about Tian Tiande and his improved state, volunteered to go. He promptly excused himself to inform Tian Tiande about his urgent business trip.
