Tian Tiande reflected on her recent encounters with Su Mu, feeling unlucky whenever she was with him and wondering if he inhibited her. She recalled running away with him and feeling good while holding his hand. She had then directly asked him if he saved her every time because he liked her. Su Mu began to confess his feelings, saying, "Right. I like. . ." but Tian Tiande, startled by the directness, ran off.
Shortly after, they encountered a small child who had fallen and injured his leg. Tian Tiande rushed to help the child, bandaging his wound and asking about his mother. Su Mu gently comforted the brave child. Together, they carried the boy home, where his mother confirmed that Dr. Gao, whom they were searching for, lived nearby but was likely out riding a motorboat at the beach. Meanwhile, Mi Ya and Hui Zi were at a swimming pool.
Hui Zi mentioned that Su Mu had gone to Bai Sha Island to find Dr. Gao after failing to locate him at the factory, and that Su Mu preferred to go alone. At the same time, Wang Yanyi was trying repeatedly to call Su Mu, but his calls went to voicemail, indicating Su Mu was out of service. Li Di was also unable to reach Tian Tiande, making him suspicious of Su Mu.
He voiced his feeling that Su Mu didn't like him and asked Wang Yanyi about Su Mu and Tian Tiande's relationship. Wang Yanyi first joked they were cohabiting before correcting himself to "neighbors." Wang Yanyi's attention then shifted to Ding Xiaoyu, asking Li Di if she had a boyfriend, to which Li Di replied she was single. Shortly after, Wang Yanyi and Li Di encountered Mi Ya and Hui Zi at the pool.
Wang Yanyi introduced Li Di to Mi Ya, the chairman of Wei Lai Company, and her best friend and business partner, Hui Zi. Li Di immediately asked if they had reached Su Mu. Hui Zi explained that Su Mu was indeed on Bai Sha Island, leading Wang Yanyi to realize there was no signal there, explaining why his calls weren't going through. This confirmation, however, intensified Li Di's worry about Su Mu and Tian Tiande possibly being together.
Wang Yanyi dismissed his concerns, saying their phones being unreachable didn't mean they were together. Back on the beach, Tian Tiande stumbled and cut her foot, which began to bleed. Su Mu grew very concerned, telling her to sit still and wait for him to return. He ran back to the child's house, blurting out to the child's mother that his girlfriend was hurt and he needed alcohol and gauze.
While Su Mu was gone, Tian Tiande, bored, started writing in the sand. She didn't notice her goldfish had been washed into the sea by a wave until it was too late. She chased after the fish into the water. When Su Mu returned with the first aid supplies, he couldn't find Tian Tiande. Spotting what looked like a head floating in the distance, he frantically plunged into the water, shouting her name.
To his relief, Tian Tiande suddenly emerged, holding her fish. Su Mu, overcome with worry, immediately embraced her, asking what was more important, the fish or her. Tian Tiande explained she was just looking for her fish and that she could swim, adding that the water was quite shallow anyway. As they walked back to shore, dripping wet, they were met by Dr. Gao, who expressed surprise at seeing them and jokingly asked if they had swum there.
Tian Tiande complained about Dr. Gao's unreliability in their previous attempts to meet. Dr. Gao explained that he had suddenly missed his late wife and returned to his old house. Su Mu remarked that Dr. Gao was as unpredictable as Tian Tiande. Noticing Tian Tiande's re-bleeding foot, Dr. Gao offered his house for them to apply medicine. Tian Tiande then gifted him the goldfish she had retrieved.
At Dr. Gao's house, Su Mu carefully carried Tian Tiande to the sofa, playfully telling her she should lose some weight. Dr. Gao brought medicine, comically warning that severe inflammation might lead to amputation. Su Mu began cleaning and bandaging Tian Tiande's wound, which was painful. He gently suggested she bite something to endure the pain, but she refused, instead tightly gripping his arm.
After Su Mu finished, Dr. Gao brought them dry clothes and told them to change quickly to avoid catching a cold, while he went to cook. Tian Tiande asked Su Mu if it hurt when she grabbed his arm, and he admitted it did, explaining he didn't cry out because he was afraid she would let go. Later, after they had showered, Su Mu quietly approached Tian Tiande and took the hairdryer to dry her hair for her.
Tian Tiande softly thanked him, and he replied, "You are welcome." Meanwhile, Li Di expressed surprise to Wang Yanyi that Mi Ya was Su Mu's sister, which Wang Yanyi explained by saying they took different parents' surnames and had different personalities. He then revealed that Hui Zi had always liked Su Mu, and Mi Ya even tried to set them up. Hui Zi and Mi Ya were concerned about Su Mu, especially with a storm approaching Bai Sha Island.
Hui Zi lamented not going with him. Just then, Li Di received a phone call from Tian Tiande's mother, who was also looking for Tian Tiande, confirming both were unreachable and causing everyone to connect the dots. Mia expressed frustration with Hui Zi for not being more proactive with Su Mu, to which Hui Zi revealed she had confessed years ago but with unsatisfactory results.
Hui Zi believed that what was meant to be would happen, and she wouldn't force what wasn't. That evening, an emergency broadcast announced a storm on Bai Sha Island, preventing all ships from leaving port. This meant Tian Tiande and Su Mu had to stay overnight at Dr. Gao's house. Dr. Gao prepared a feast and proposed a drinking session.
Su Mu stopped Tian Tiande from drinking due to her foot injury, and though he rarely drank, he joined Dr. Gao instead. He meticulously peeled shrimp for Tian Tiande, earning Dr. Gao's observation that Su Mu loved his "wife" as much as he did. Tian Tiande quickly clarified she wasn't his wife yet, but Su Mu readily agreed with Dr. Gao's prediction about their future.
Separately, Mi Ya told Hui Zi that she was worried about Su Mu and Tian Tiande being together, noting that Su Mu, whom she once thought was "dumb" with girls, now seemed quite "flirty." As the evening progressed, Dr. Gao and Su Mu became close, bonding over their conversation. When Tian Tiande told them to stop drinking, both men immediately complied, putting down their glasses. They then turned to discussing work, with Dr. Gao offering to review Su Mu's blueprints.
Worried about Tian Tiande, her mother placed a phone call to Tang Mumu, who reassured her that Tian Tiande had gone to Bai Sha Island with a friend and was likely safe before the storm hit. Later, as the night drew to a close, Dr. Gao went to bed, instructing Tian Tiande and Su Mu to share the only guestroom. They awkwardly settled into separate corners of the bed, neither able to sleep. Finally, Su Mu broke the silence, quietly confessing to Tian Tiande, "Actually… I want to tell you that… I like you." However, Tian Tiande had already drifted off to sleep.
