Su Mu hurried to leave and encountered Hui Zi, explaining he had an urgent matter to attend to. Hui Zi mentioned that Professor Gao had asked her to visit the factory, but she hadn't found him. She suggested Su Mu check Bai Sha Island, where Professor Gao used to live, and offered to send the address, even proposing to accompany him. Su Mu politely declined, stating he would go himself. Meanwhile, Tian Tiande was waiting at the zoo entrance.
Su Mu called her, thinking she had meant "stars in the sky" and had gone to the planetarium. During their phone conversation, they described their surroundings but couldn't spot each other. Su Mu mentioned a balloon seller, while Tian Tiande saw a couple. Tian Tiande clarified that she was at the zoo to see gorillas, prompting Su Mu to realize his mistake. He told her he hadn't arrived yet and asked her to wait. Just then, Tian Tiande's phone died.
She stayed at the entrance, worried Su Mu wouldn't find her if she left. Su Mu quickly found a shared bicycle and rushed to the zoo. By the time Su Mu arrived, the zoo was closed. Seeing Tian Tiande, who explained her phone had run out of battery, Su Mu felt apologetic. Despite the missed opportunity, Tian Tiande was understanding, suggesting they could visit next time.
An awkward silence filled the air as they walked to the bus stop and boarded the bus. Su Mu noticed Tian Tiande's hair was loose and used his earphone cord to tie it for her, causing Tian Tiande's heart to flutter. Moments later, a sudden brake from the bus driver sent Tian Tiande stumbling into Su Mu's arms.
After recovering, they found empty seats and Su Mu plugged in his earphones, sharing one with Tian Tiande as they listened to music. Su Mu then explained his misunderstanding, thinking she meant celestial stars, which led him to the planetarium. Tian Tiande found this idea of watching stars in the sky very romantic, and they agreed to do it together next time. As the bus emptied, they leaned closer, the atmosphere growing increasingly intimate.
After disembarking, Su Mu answered a phone call while holding Tian Tiande's hand to cross the street. They continued walking hand-in-hand, a scene that a nearby security guard observed with a smile, wishing he too could find love. Their hands parted when Su Mu paused to tie his shoelace. Before leaving, he invited Tian Tiande to join him tomorrow afternoon on Bai Sha Island to meet Professor Gao, to which she agreed.
This entire interaction was witnessed by Tian Tiande’s mother from her balcony. Tian Tiande's parents had returned early from their trip because her father had injured his foot after falling off a horse during a gallop on a prairie. Tian Tiande expressed concern for her father, who recounted the accident and credited her mother as his "amulet." Tian Tiande then went upstairs to speak with her mother.
Her mother immediately questioned Tian Tiande about her relationship with Su Mu, whom she referred to as "the plumber." Tian Tiande insisted they were just neighbors and denied being in love, despite her mother's persistent questioning and disbelief. Meanwhile, Su Mu returned home to find his mother and Mi Ya there. Mi Ya noticed Su Mu's joyful demeanor.
Su Mu admitted he had been to the zoo, surprising his mother and Mi Ya, who recalled that he hadn't visited a zoo since he was terrified there at the age of five. Mi Ya pressed him, asking if he was in love, and Su Mu candidly confirmed that he was.
His mother was staying at the villa, and Mi Ya tasked Su Mu with driving his mother to a school lecture the next day, which Su Mu happily agreed to. Su Mu’s mother immediately became eager to learn more about the girl, asking about her intelligence and genetic background. Su Mu, however, went to bed. Still unconvinced by Tian Tiande’s denials, her mother felt that Tian Tiande was hiding things from her and resolved to "catch them red-handed."
She called Li Di, inquiring about his plans with Tian Tiande for the following day. Li Di confirmed they were attending a baseball star autograph session tomorrow morning at 11:00. Tian Tiande's mother noted the time, still skeptical. Li Di, sensing something was amiss, then called Tian Tiande, asking if she had lied to his aunt.
Tian Tiande reassured him she wouldn't miss seeing their favorite player, Clayton, and reaffirmed their plan to meet at the school gate at 11:00 AM. Later that night, Tian Tiande pondered Su Mu's actions, holding his earphone as she lay in bed. She wondered if he liked her, considering he had held her hand for so long, yet he hadn't explicitly said anything.
She found his misunderstanding of "gorillas" as "stars" peculiar, concluding that he couldn't be understood by a "reasonable man's thinking." Though she felt they were behaving like a couple, the ambiguity annoyed her. She decided to stop overthinking it for the night, especially since she had plans to meet Professor Gao with Su Mu tomorrow, and drifted off to sleep with his earphone.
The next morning, Tian Tiande's mother woke her up early for the fan meeting, chastising her for sleeping late and for the mess in her room. Tian Tiande's father tried to intervene, but her mother was determined. Tian Tiande left the house before her mother could execute her plan to follow her. When her mother realized Tian Tiande was gone, she then saw Su Mu driving out (to take his mother to a lecture). Deciding that following Su Mu would lead her to Tian Tiande anyway, she began to track his car.
