Seeing Mi Lan by Shen Zhiheng’s side reassured De Geng. He helped Shen Zhiheng find an old family portrait from years ago. In it, young Situ Weilian indeed had a stone around his neck. Shen Zhiheng took Mi Lan to pay respects to his ancestors—Shen Zhiheng of the Shen clan had come home. He even showed Mi Lan his own grave. After that day, only he and his grandmother survived. To hide his condition, his grandmother changed their identities.

In Shen Zhiheng’s mind, he had already died. When they opened the coffin, the Blood Amber Stone was indeed inside. Holding it, Shen Zhiheng saw his father’s shocked face upon returning to find the family massacred. His aunt had killed the entire clan, and his father, devastated, took his own life. Mi Lan sensed someone approaching, but Shen Zhiheng was still overwhelmed with sorrow. To protect him, Mi Lan was shot.

Shen Zhiheng finally snapped out of it and swiftly eliminated all the men Li Yingliang had brought. Seeing this, Li Yingliang fled in terror. Bleeding and in pain, Mi Lan wept. She once thought life was too painful, but now she felt it was wonderful to have Shen Zhiheng—and even to become like him. She lost consciousness in his arms. Shen Zhiheng cried out in grief and decided to use the Blood Amber Stone to save her.

To avoid burdening De Geng, he planned to leave with Mi Lan that night. He had to face things eventually, and returning to Haidong was the only option. After narrowly escaping death, Li Yingliang learned Shen Zhiheng had returned with Mi Lan in his arms. Terrified, he panicked—he had killed Mi Lan, and now Shen Zhiheng must be back for revenge! Mi Lan developed a high fever.

Shen Zhiheng placed her in a bathtub filled with ice to reduce the temperature. Mr. Mo had said that once the Blood Amber Stone merged with another person, the user would begin to weaken and eventually die. Situ Weilian visited Jin Jingxue again. Though Second Uncle Jin handled the surface affairs, Jin Jingxue didn’t dare entrust everything to him. After a long sleep, Mi Lan finally woke up.

With the Blood Amber Stone’s power, her vision was no longer darkness—she saw colors, the layout of the Shen residence, and most importantly, her beloved Mr. Shen. Reborn, Mi Lan’s awakening filled Shen Zhiheng with joy. For Mi Lan, it felt like their first meeting. After her bath, Shen Zhiheng dressed her in a princess-like outfit. For the first time, Mi Lan saw her own reflection—so this is what she looked like.

With her sight restored, she played freely in the courtyard. When she saw Shen Zhiheng, she bounced happily toward him, wanting to stay by his side. Mu Lihua sought help from Chi Shanying. Her Shadow Ink agents had suffered heavy losses, so she asked for soldiers to train and support her. Because of Li Yingliang’s incompetence, she had lost a lot and was determined to settle the score. Li Yingliang wanted to see Chi Shanying, but wasn’t allowed inside.

Mi Lan sat curiously in the courtyard, exploring the world—all of it was new to her. After kneeling all night in the freezing snow, Li Yingliang fainted upon hearing that Mi Lan was still alive.
